In this poem I focussed less on the technical structure and more on the message I was trying to get across. Enjoy!
Hope in Unlikely Places
This world has too much bloodshed.
Too much hate.
Too much fear.
We know this and despair.
Because of this we know there is hope.
Plane hijackers crash a hundred people to their terrible deaths.
The families will never feel complete again.
The world mourns.
There is hope because the world mourns.
Poverty. Many children starving and wretched.
Their lives constantly snuffed out like candles.
The world feels guilty.
There is hope because the world feels guilty.
A woman murders her baby because of a madness.
She can not understand what she has done.
The world wishes it knew what to do for the best.
There is hope because the world wishes.
You read this poem.
You are sad because of the terrible situations I mention.
There is hope in your sorrow that shines like a beacon.
We will one day stop these things.
Until then there is hope in our attempt.
