So my 2008 demo reel was a failure of cringe-worthy voices and Final Fantasy XII music, and it was about time for me to show off my lower range which most people don't know I have. Neither did I. I hate mixing demo reels -- I'm not good at it. Audio is not my friend, but I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. I just hope the awkward transitions are not a noticable as I think they are. Now I can get rid of the link to my horrible 2008 Demo Reel.
A special thanks to Damaru and osparrow for listening to my bootleg practice demo and pointing out stuff I should fix. Oh, and the second-to-last line is dedicated to Scarlotte for obvious reasons. :D
Any feedback would be lovely... pretty please?

New demo FTW!
Well, I'm really liking this demo. You showed off your range really well and the voices were really good and I thought that they were well developed in most places. The only thing I would like to see the next time is to try and take the development of your characters even further. This can be done by simply adding a few extra lines for a particular character.
Oh and by the way. I especially loved the ending. Definately, most definately the ending. =)

Wooh! I like it a lot LoH! X3 It really showcased your range; I loved your womanly and boy (<3!!) voices. Sexy mixing too! ;D

Wow your demo reel is wonderful. I really enjoyed it.
Maybe it doesn't seem professional enough when people don't give a critique, but I honestly feel I don't need to critique anything. Your vocal range showed many varieties of your voice, and the mixing and quality was perfect. If I were to mention anything, it would be to use a couple other lines that have much more emotions of anger or sadness, or something like that. But LoH, you sure impressed me, and I loved your demo reel. Great job! ;D
Listening to your demo reel really makes me want to start my new one, since I have a new microphone I feel its really necessary for me to do so. Plus demo reels like yours sure inspire me :]
Just wondering but, what sort of microphone do you use? I'm totally asking out of curiosity honestly. Cause yours has very good quality :] Hope you don't mind my asking

Thanks for the suggestion, bninjah! I will definitely keep that in mind for the next one. Oh, and for the ending, well, I didn't even realize the pun until someone pointed it out to me earlier. It just seemed to fit when I was mixing. :D

I'm glad you enjoyed my boy voices. The last boy voice was for you even though I took out your name 'cause it seemed weird. BUT STILL that was for you~

Thank you, Estellise. The first take of my demo had more "emotional" lines in it but I felt all the voices sounded pretty much the same (and that is boring), so I got rid of most some of them.
Of course I don't mind you asking! I use a Snowball which has excellent quality and is such an improvement from my previous microphone. I love it to bits and it works really nicely. I'm glad I can be of some inspiration~

WHY DID I NOT RECEIVE A BOOTLEG COPY OF YOUR DEMO REEL? D:<
YAY FOR MAKING A NEW DEMO REEL. I am so proud of you for sucking it up and doing it on your own. This is such a huge improvement from your previous one in so many ways.
I think you really showed off your range here and I was SO happy to hear some sexy/seductive voices as well as little boy ones. I was rather surprised by your Scarlotte impression because honestly I never thought you sounded so much like her. I listened to her demo after listening to your impression and sheesh, you can pull her off. Scarrrrryyyy. Also your boy voices have become very manly. Me like.
I know that you're the kind of person who randomly records whatever line pops into your head with a certain voice. Yet the scripting flowed very smoothly and the arrangement did not make anything seem repetitive. I love how you ended. I cannot believe you did not realize the pun until later. You are so silly sometimes, LoH!
LOVED THE MUSIC CHOICES. Especially the one with the last boy voice -- was that from Sherlock Holmes? :O The array of Soul Calibur and D.N. Angel made me smile.
I would like to hear an old lady voice from you. I saw that you did not have one in here. Or anything really creepy or evil sounding, though the sexy "I was always on the other side" did sound seductively evil.
I wish this had been a bit longer. It flew past really quickly despite being only a minute and seventeen seconds. Maybe because I enjoyed it so much. :D I hope the next one doesn't take two years to make.
I heard Nephilim, Xianghua, Pellegri, Doctus, Alphard, and Lady in there. Any other characters I missed?

LoH <3 I am really in love with your voice. Like, legit in love. Will it be my late Valentine?
You have an amazing range (that I'm in love with, did I mention that?), and this really showed it. I'm really a bigger fan of your lower voices than your higher ones, I'm glad that they were showcased here. The music choices were incredibly fitting.
A bit of a critique is that, despite your range, I knew that every single voice came from LoH. They emanated this 'LoH' feel. The one line that didn't was that "confiscating this" line, which is probably why I liked it so much. Although sometimes that 'feel' is very good, sometimes it isn't - it sort of stops you from finding different tones. For example, the "I don't want to do any more boy voices" didn't sound as boyish because it had that kind of feel in it. (You also have a very anime-esque voice, I'd love to hear something more original from you.)
If that paragraph made any sense, I hope that helps a bit. ^^;
Overall, I loved this to itty-bitty pieces. |D

WHY DID I NOT RECEIVE A BOOTLEG COPY OF YOUR DEMO REEL? D:<
'CAUSE THAT BOOTLEG COPY WAS CURSED. Plus you weren't online. I can't do old lady voices at all, I thought we had established that.

My voice will happily be your late Valentine. It likes milk chocolates by the way. I too like my lower voices better than my higher ones probably since they've improved dramatically and its something rare I get to use. I used to hate it because it didn't sound cute at all.
Thank you for pointing out the "feel" thing. I never really think about that, plus I never knew there was a "LoH" feel. That makes me feel kinda special. My parents often tell me my higher voices are very anime-esque -- probably since I used those voices to annoy them so very much. >:D But I have been trying to get a more realistic feel into them since its hard to break from the anime-ish tones.
I think I spent all of Saturday (literally) working on this demo reel, especially with the music and SFX. I listened to God-knows-how-many tracks from all those OSTs on my computer, so I'm really glad to hear the music worked out well.
Thank you so much for the critique, Sera Phia. You'll hear something original from me... One day... In the future...

Nicely mixed and wonderful exhibition of range. I don't have any critiques that wouldn't be nitpicking.
I'll just say that I'm starting to feel inadequate before all of the wonderful talent I'm seeing lately in the demo reel section. Even though I'm a guy and a lot of them are women and so the competition isn't even between me and them. :)
Nice work!

Totally missed this!>:/
This was a huuuge improvement from your last demo! Your range is getting larger and it shows, but I feel like you were focusing on range much more than your acting and variety of emotions. In the 'Ohohoho, you two make a fine pair', I imagined that the 'Ohohoho' would be more princessy and showy. For most of the lines I could tell what you were trying to portray, but it felt lacking in energy most of the time. The line that stood out the most to me was the last line. It was powerful and had a lot of energy.<3 I think everyone knows that your softer characters are great so I'm glad you didn't put a lot of time in for them in this reel. The evil, lower voices were a breath of fresh air, but I would have liked for you to have gone a notch further and oozed evil with a sinister aura. In other words, go all out! It felt like you were holding back a lot. Other than those things I don't really have anything else to say except great job. I thoroughly enjoyed looping your demo and I can't wait to see the next leap you make!<333

...Hahaaaa, did I hear that Scarlotte voice in there or was it just me? XD
I liked this! This was loads better than your old one. 8D Since when did your range get so big? x___x Also, I am liking the line about outdoing yourselves; that was niiice. I am going to make you use that lower range! ...Somehow. XD
I'd agree with a lot of Spade's critique; I felt like there were points where you could have went all out but didn't. Your voice does indeed have that kind of LoH feel to it. XD If you want to expand it more, maybe try experimenting with different speech patterns/accents for different characters?
There were also some lines that seemed kind of short to me and didn't give me as much of an impression of the character as I would have liked. (I think it was the one about shooting...someone, but that may have been because I wanted to hear that voice mooore. XD) I feel that there were some voices that could have been combined together to create one character instead, but that's more of a personal preference.
Either ways, I still really liked this demo, Loh~~ You have improved loads and I can only see you go up. XD

I can't believe you missed it, Spade! GARRRRHHH! I definitely did focus on my range more than my acting since that's what I feel like that's something I've gotten so much better at and something I would like to highlight. The "Ohohoho" line was actually from a clip I was in where the character was teasing another rather than being all princess-y and such.
I did avoid using the softer voices because a) I'm sick of those and b) I was actually sick when I recorded half of these lines (yeah, that's probably why they sound less energetic than they should be, but I was home and able to scream), so I couldn't really pull off a decent soft voice. But will I WILL GO ALL OUT for the next one. It will be crazy or something. XD
But thank you for pointing those tips out. It's hard to record in college and go all out. D:

Nah, she was in there. She specifically said, "Hey, this is Scarlotte. Nice to meet you." You aren't going crazy... yet. I put my range on vocal steroids and you know what, they work! As does practice.
Yes, I'm trying to work on different speech patterns and I'm taking a voice acting class in college which is helping with it. I tend to make lines shorter because I'm trying to fit in more variety of voices into the demo, but I just I should not do that...? And make the lines longer...? (Uh, the shooting line was actually Alphard from CANAAN and that's as much as she said.)
Thanks for the suggestions and critique mong<3 I'm so glad this one has improve since that last disastrous demo.

wow, your range has really grown since i last heard it. i hardly recognized some of the voices and the lower ones were amazing. honesty, i never knew you could do those (probably since i always hear the high and annoying ones every morning.) >_< loved the scarlotte one though. i still mistake your voice for her's and vice versa. :D

I never noticed before, but you sound a lot like Shudo to me. I really like the reel, I thought some of the lines could have been longer, like the "You're hopeless" and a few others I forget. But I remember those short lines I would have really liked to hear more of that voice.
A few of the lines were a teeny-tiny bit emotionally flat, but not too much. All in all, I really like your range and your acting a lot.
