With all the Idol contests going around--Cross Gender, VAA, Duet--I thought I'd make my own pitch into this musical world of singing.
To those who can sing well:
STAY AWAY!! (Or fake that you can't!)
This Idol is in tribute to that most honest of celebrities(the only true celebrity, if you ask me!!) William Hung! He won the hearts of Americans without having any professional training whatsoever in either singing or dancing.
So! Here's the goal!
Be the worst singer on the VAA boards! Sounds easy, right? Not exactly. We don't want decent, we don't bad... we want our freakin' ears to bleed!!
In order to win this contest, a contestant will have to pick a song and totally butcher the hell out of it. Miss notes? Great! Miss words? Super! Miss entire verses and just make random sounds not at all in tune? Genius!
Like all other Idols, there will be three preliminary rounds where the promotion of contestants will be made by the judges.
The judges have a responsibility to RECORD THEIR REACTIONS to the particular song they are listening to. Your lines consist of your criticism of the singers singing ability. Be nasty, be rude, put Simon in his place! Also, if you judge, you cannot sing also(unless that's part of your commentary! Be creative! That's the whole idea behind this thing!)
After the first three rounds, the promotion will be decided solely on the vote of fellow VAA board members who will listen to each song as part of an "episode" of Hung Idol. Then cast their vote, and find out who won on the beginning of the next episode!
There will be two or three singers an episode, so depending on how many people decide to participate, there could be quite a few! ... either that, or the number of singers will increase. Commentary by the judges is a MUST.
Contestants are also required to have a little introduction before the beginning of their song. A simple "Hi, my name is ____ and the song I'm singing is ____ will suffice!" Any name will do. But again, be creative!
With that being said, happy singing!

Deadline for all contestants is April 15!

1) One singer per song(sorry, no duets or groups. Maybe later!)
2) BGM is very much wanted, but not required.
3) Judges may not compete.
4) Singers may not digital alter their voice to make them sound more horrible. Must be done with all vocal chords, baby.
5) Send PM/e-mail to unremarked@gmail.com for position of judge(first come, first serve!) Or post here.
6) Please save the song file as (vaa-name_song.mp3) and zip with standard contact info.
7) Please record at 44100, stereo, and 16-bit.
8) Be creative!!!!!(note the number of exclaimation points, that's very important!)
