Fullmetal Alchemist Fandub: Ed Vs. Greed [Archive]

Ah, one of my favorite scenes in the anime. Greed was one of the good guys and it was sad to see him go! :( This scene was so great in both the Japanese and English dubs that I don't think it can be imitated. So, let me offer you some critique on your attempt:

Voice: Well, you're no Vic Mignogna and I'm not sure you were going for that but I can tell that you were reaching towards his range at some parts. You can hear your own voice adding your own quirk to it so that's refreshing. But the delivery of some of your lines were stagnant and poorly delivered. You could said some lines with much more emotion, considering that Edward is spread pretty thin, what with his brother's whereabouts being unknown and suddenly seeing Dante's dead body and Greed at the center of it. So the emotion is pretty high at the point of this scene. So perhaps you should work on that some more.

Mixing: In the future, you should download the scene, download music and sfx and mix the thing yourself. What you did is the easy way out. Personally, this is my least type of fandub to watch. Not only did you keep the original actor's voices in and only dub Edward, but you dubbed over a taping of the episode, each sfx cut out whenever you spoke. It sounds choppy and messy. The quality is also severely lacking with this way of recording. Try for recording from scratch and mixing it. You'll feel much better about it and you'll probably get more views. It may be a FANdub but you definitely don't want it to SOUND like a fandub. I hope that makes sense.

I hope your fandub are better in the future. If you feel like doing another fandub of FMA, come see me. I can do almost any voice in FMA! (with the exception of the gruffy guys. ahah.) It sounds better when EVERY character is dubbed, just not some of them.
