† Theatre for the Crows †
presents
"The Legend of Zelda: Twilght Princess [Fandub]"

~†~

This is my first completed fandub project, and I must say that I'm very proud to have such amazing VAs for this!
I'm still uploading the next few parts for this fandub. ^^

~†~

When I was hosting auditions for this, the fandub was planned for only three scenes but I decided (at the last minute) to expand it into four parts from the beginning and halfway into the Twilight Princess story. After eight long months of casting extras and such, I got the VAs I needed to complete this fandub. It was worth it! =3

I already told you how much I love this, but I feel it's important to reemphasize it. :33

Link (Ben): First of all, mad props to you on acheiving the impossible and giving LINK, of all characters, tons of personality-- you made the dialogue work so convincingly, I think I'll definitely be hearing your lines when I play the game from now on. :3 One of my favorite parts of your performance was the contrast you brought between human and wolf Link-- both voices were just so fitting, and I really enjoyed your delivery throughout both of these clips (the transformation scene was LOVE. 8D) Awesome work!!!

Rusl/Fado (Ryusuke): Great job on both of these characters-- Fado in particular just fit like a glove. =D I will nitpick and say that Rusl's voice sounded a bit young, but I thought you delivered his lines very well. Awesome! ^___^

Ilia (SurrieTheDubber): Your voice for her was just too adorable. Loved it when you went into scolding!mode-- too cute! :33

Bo (GeeMac32bit): Wow, what a voice! Loved the low, gravelly tone you brought, which was just perfect for the character. I might suggest that you make him sound a bit less formal, considering that he's a big gruff wrestler who wrangles goats, but I very much enjoyed your take on him! XD

Colin (Sera Phia): Short lived, but too cute!!! X3 Can't wait to hear more from you!

Zelda (Emma): Probably my favorite performance in the whole damn thing. <33 You have such a refined, classic quality to your voice that fits Zelda to a T. I really would love to hear you do more with narration roles-- the lines in which she's reminiscing were just packed with emotion, and never felt forced or read, which is actually quite difficult to accomplish when you've got the exposition!job. Your "forgive me" line was my favorite. Perfection. ^_^

Zant (Blackarms): I grinned like CRAZY when I heard your first line-- you have an absolutely wonderful villain voice, I can't wait to hear how you take on this character at his creepiest moments. =3 Love it!!

And I must say, the mixing was pretty darned good, especially considering it's your first fandub! :O My only complaint would be that some of the audio levels are a little screwy-- I'd imagine it was especially difficult to level my lines in particular, since I was using such a crappy headset mic at the time and it'd probably destroy your speakers if it was any louder. X__x Apologies for that! Also loved your scripting on this-- I never would have expected the dialogue for Link to work as well as it did, but it was just so well-written, and fit very well with the rest of the dialogue. Fabulous! ^_^

Oh, yes, the audio DX
That is the one thing I've been wrestling with during editing here and there. I did all I could though. lol But I kept forgetting to go back and level the background music. Yet, it was difficult to fix it. There were bits where it'd level over your voice at some point, then it became hard to hear on some lines from the VAs. T_T Awell. But thank you for the critique ^w^

Yeah, I still got to work on that. :sweat Keeping it consistent anyway. It sounded deeper than that in my first recordings. Maybe, next time Rusl will sound a little less younger. But, I'm glad you enjoyed my performance. :) I'll give my critique once all parts are up! But, so far, it's sounding great!

woo twilight princess, bring on the win with this game.

Link- Not quite how I imagined him sounding but it still works and the lines were delivered well despite being brief.

Rusl- A bit young for this character but I like the tone you gave him. I think you went a bit too down on the lines as he comes off a little mumbly and it's difficult to understand what he's saying. But obviously the accent causes that as well so just keep working at that.

Fado- Much better, seems like energetic characters are more your thing. The voice fit quite well also.

Ilia- I think the voice is a bit too cutesy for Ilia but it's not a bad take. The main thing is to keep practicing line delivery as the dialogue flow wasn't quite there so your overall tempo seemed a bit slow. Also even though it does make her seem more energetic I wouldn't advise on making her voice bounce all too often on certain words (when you took a rather high pitch). However the potential is very much there and you did display some good emotions.

Bo- I liked that he was given a nice deep and gruff voice, however it seems it's a bit of a strain on you at the moment. Just keep working to master the voice though as it's definately a good start.

Colin- Nice boy voice, will have to see where you can take this character.

Midna- Also not quite the voice I would imagine on her but enjoyable nonetheless. All your lines were delivered in a believable fashion if anything maybe you overplayed a few of them and lost some of the mysteriousness of the character because here she comes off as a goofy imp but still I like where your going. The main thing is to be careful when you go at a higher pitch as it seems you would lose the texture of your voice. But still a strongly presented character, well done.

Zelda- Oh my, my! Lovely take on Zelda! You definately capture her strong determined voice and tone well. Only thing is I think occasionally you came off a tad hissy, but overall I loved the way the character was presented. Excellent job!

Zant- I did like how an evil voice was given, but I think it could come off a bit stronger. Also at times you also seemed to lose a bit of the texture for the voice you gave him. But overall I did like it a good bit!
