Usually i dislike prefacing songs like this, but i feel i should in this case...

so my girlfriend is living in a different country right now, and i miss her quite a bit. i got a new mic for christmas, so i decided to kill two birds with one stone by testing out my mic and singing a song for her for christmas...

she (and i) really liked wolf's rain, so i tried this song.

the apartments i live in have paper thin walls, so unfortunately i can't really practice singing that often (usually reserved for when i use the car haha)... and when i do record, i can't do very many takes (this was done in two =s) because i'll get complained against.

i put my heart into this song... it was a little out of tune in some beginning parts, but i picked it up for the rest and added something a little special in the end ;) be sure to turn your headphones down because i sing rather loudly =s

i really hope you guys like it. critique me so i don't kill my girlfriend's favorite anime's song :3

::EDIT:: 12-28-09 ::EDIT::

I redid this song a day or two before christmas at my friend's house and was given lots more time :)... this is my final product, and my girlfriend loved it :D. hopefully give it a second hear and have a great new year!

The louder notes are off. Though they do get louder, you don't need to song them THAT loud, because they are still softly sung. You tend to go harsher on the loud parts, but just keep in mind that it's ultimately a soft song. Not necessarily quiet, just soft.

I love the ending part. Sounds like you really put your heart into it and it sounds like a soft rock ballad. xD I think she'll love it. ;)

thanks for replying!

unfortunately, i agree haha. my falsetto typically sounds terrible, which is why i seldom sing softly in a high pitch... so i resort to using a full voice... but, alas, i can't be too loud... but if i stifle a full voice it comes out rather unpleasant and thin... which, when i hear it now, is how most of my cover sounds like.

not to mention out of tune :/

thanks for the critique! i have a lot of work to do before send it off to her :)

hopefully if i can redo it i'll repost it here...

I love your nasally voice! <3 it will sound good being rock ballad <3 ^^
but like andy_ichigo said your higher notes are sharp and you have no control over it.

If you could get a belt in the song, it would be wonderful!
Keep practicing! and when you can control those higer notes, resing it again and post it here xD
