Yay! I finally managed to get this clip out ;D This is a fandub of a scene in Episode 2 of Soul Eater where BlackStar fights against Mifune. Much thanks to the cast for getting their lines in on time! ^ ^

~ I'm well aware of that small diagonal line on the screen. Due to codec issues and stuff with the original video, the video was kinda messed up. VirtualDub fixed this, but left that there =/

Lolz. I'm doing a Black Star vs Mifune clip myself. I just have yet to turn in the script. rororor.

Only complaint is that mifunes lines sounded very muffles so it was hard to understand what he was saying. also, some sfx sounded soft and black stars voice got way too girly at some points.

BlackStar: It's a very good boy voice, but BlackStar is a very energetic character; a more dynamic and gruffer tone would've helped with this role. Sometimes you slipped back into a girlish voice, but overall it's quite fitting. I loved the "But I won't let you get away with that!" outburst, very well done!

Tsubaki: Shudo makes a fantastic Tsubaki! It was a very lovely, warm, and dutiful tone which was perfectly suited for this character! I have no complaints.

Mifune: Very nice, you definitely captured the calm and cool aspect of this character. Slurring makes it hard to hear what he's saying sometimes, but I liked it.

Angela: I think you focused too much on making the character high pitched rather than cute and little girl-ish. Maybe a more frantic tone would've made her more convincing when she was crying, but you're pretty new and you've done a good job!

Great mixing as always McTricky, though some parts could use a few more sound effects, and the part where the music ended abruptly kind of made it awkward. Regardless, I'm satisfied with how your mixing made this fandub flow!

Woo-Hoo!!! I've been waiting in anticipation for this clip since the posting of the cast list! Here goes!

BlackStar :: ~xXLittlexGurlXx~ - You know I love your voice work, but I was ecstatic when I saw you landed this role. It was so out of the character thype that I normally hear you play. With that being said, initially your voice didn't sound complete. You didn't have enough of the vocal rasp to make your voice sound like a boy. But then, it happened; somewhere along the way your voice completely adapted to the character and became perfect. Around the point where Black Star and Tsubaki switch places and you were saying the rules to being a ninja, I forgot that this was a fandub your performance was so strong. You really pulled this role together in the end. I hope McTricky decides to do more clips, I'd love to hear you get a complete mastery of this voice.

Mifune :: McTricky - This is probably the best I've ever heard you in VAing. Which, I feel like I think this every time a new project you VA in comes out. You're voice fit Mifune's additude perfectly, and your accent actually really worked for the character. Being that this was a clip mostly dominated by Black Star and Mifune, you put out a great performance. Seriously, everytime I hear you, you get better. Excellent work, my friend!

Tsubaki :: Shudo-Ranmaru - This was a funny clip for me with your character. I feel that Tsubaki did so much, but you got to say very little. I have no complaints to say about your performace. I thought you stuck Tsubaki's personality, the way that she kinda babies Black Star, but still plays to his ego. I thought you did great. I'd really like to hear more of you with this character if McTricky decides to do more clips.

Angela :: WhateverYeahOK - I don't think I've ever heard you before this clip. At least, not to my recollection. Being that your role is only in the clip for about a minute, it's hard to completely grasp the character in such a short period of time. Your first few lines felt a little too forced, which I think is because you were focusing on making the voice sound so young, but your later lines sounded much better. Pretty much from "Jerk, jerk, jerk, jerk, jerk!" I thought you had become comfortable with the role. I really think if you had more time with the role, you'd get it down.

Mixing :: McTricky - As I said about your acting, I feel like your mixing get's better every time. There were a few times that there weren't SFX where there probably should have been (like when Black Star holds up the chained weapon at the end, there was no chain SFX). But overall, I thought the mixing was really good. I hope you do more clips. I'd really like to see more.

This clip is amazing, and the way you mixed it, along with the awesome acting contributing to it made it even more so!

I'm just being a little nitpicky here, but there were a couple parts in the mixing that didn't have any sound. Like near the end, when Black Star is about to finish Mifune off, there probably should have been some sort of sound effect there, like a chain moving or something. But like I said, I'm just being nitpicky.

I'm glad to hear I put on a fairly good performance. This slightly speech of mine is a real pain, although I am making good progress in getting rid of it and making my enunciation a lot better. I also thought my accent worked for this as well, although at some words the accent felt a bit fake to me xD My favourite line was: "I swear on my sword I will defend her."

GAH! GAH! *HEADESK* Chain SFX are so hard to find, and I did manage to get some last night because I needed it for some other audio project (http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=49360). I just forgot to put them in the Soul Eater clips as well >.< The chain SFX you did here were ripped from the episode. But other than that I had a real blast mixing this, and I'm glad you all enjoyed the clip! ^ ^ And I might do more clips xD

I've never watched Soul Eater (and I probably should), but I'll give my best shot at a critique!

BlackStar :: ~xXLittlexGurlXx~ Wow! Your boy voice really improved! The voice seemed a bit too girly for this character, but it began to really fit as the scene moved on. Sometimes I wished your voice was a bit more energetic and fiery, for some of the emotions were less dynamic than expected. It sounded as if you were focusing a bit much on the voice than the emotions. Once you perfect your boy voice though, I'm sure all the emotions would come to you perfectly!

Mifune :: McTricky You, mister, are really improving your voice acting. I've heard you since you first joined and then now, and there's a huge improvement! The only thing really lacking in your performance is the slurring of your words. Your accent wasn't a lot of trouble this time, too! Excellent work!

Tsubaki :: Shudo-Ranmaru I. Love. Your. Voice. This one fit the character so well, and it certainly was a personality I don't usually hear you play. Nothing else to say but PERFECT <3

Angela :: WhateverYeahOK The voice itself sounded strained to get up that high, but the emotions were pretty good. This is the first time I've ever heard you, and I'll say you gave me an okay impression. I'd love to hear you more, though - you don't sound too accustomed to high voices.

Mixing: Do I really have to critique this? Amazing. SFX were all great and well timed, and I saw nothing wrong with lip flaps.

Overall, a blast to watch! Maybe I should watch Soul Eater now >.>

After watching this now, I've realized something. Instead of "Shadow Star", I should have had Tsubaki say: "We call this one the Dummy Star", since that's its actual name. I wonder what the official dub will call the actual Shadow Star? xD

BlackStar :: ~xXLittlexGurlXx~ - This has to be a very tricky character to perform and I was actually very impressed with how well you carried this! I think you started off a bit weaker and I could really hear the girlier tone coming through, but by the end of the clip you seemed to have warmed up and really carried the energy and performance absolutely beautifully. I think consistency should be the thing to look out for in future, and with BlackStar, energy is always something to keep an eye out for. I would suggest bringing him even a bit further, but this is an absolutely lovely start.

Mifune :: McTricky - I have to agree with other comments - this has to be the best I think I've seen you in a role. Your enunciation really seems to have improved and you played the part well. I think there could have been a bit more levels with the character as a lot of hte lines were more or less on the same plane for me. He is a rather laid back character, but that's something to consider for him in future. That aside, fantastic job - I love seeing you get better, you have such a phenomenal voice :3

Tsubaki :: Shudo-Ranmaru - Shudo, your Tsubaki is love. Seriously, you just did so well with this I really have no complaints. I really want to see you play her again... a lot more.

Angela :: WhateverYeahOK - I don't think I've ever seen you here before, but congratulations for making a lovely first impression! You really sounded very cute in this role and definitely brought the energy. I did catch at least one line towards the beginning where your voice slipped a little older than the rest of the lines, but it seemed like you caught yourself and I didn't really notice it otherwise. That aside great job and I hope to see more of you around!

Mixing was lovely - everything blended really naturally and it was difficult to tell that this was fan mixed. My only note was that the first song sounded a bit lower key. I see that you used the SOul Eater OST so it may be the original song, but for some reason I recall it being a bit more fast paced and I would have liked to hear that moreso myself. Could just be me though. If it's the original, totally ignore this comment then ^^

Great job all around - this was extremely solid and you should all be very proud!

Thanks for all the feedback. This was a really tough role for me, because I have a pretty deep voice for a girl. So I did struggle a bit, but I'll be sure to improve. Plus now I have a new mic, so my recording quality should improve quite a bit. I noticed I sounded kind of hollow...

Anyway, Shudo made an AWESOME Tsubaki. And ~xXLittlexGurlXx~ worked hard on her Black*Star, I'm sure, and she did a good job as well.

This was done very well, everyone sounded great and the sfx were on point. I really liked black stars voice, I thought he could have sounded a bit more boyish but overall it was really good. I'd love to give a full critique but I'm working on other thing right now, but this was really good, great job to everyone!^^
