View Full Version : Furuba fans?People who have read the manga?
I just watched all of furuba and don't get me wrong but the ending is the biggest piece of garbage I've ever seen!!! I'm not gonna put any spoilers here. But please does the manga have a better ending?
By the way anyone who's thinking of watching Fruits basket, it is good up until the last episode.

Uhm... I happened to like the ending.. A lot. The whole series was excellent (though I wasn't fond of the Yuki's fanclub episodes...) But everyone has their opinions, so I'm not going to say yours is wrong.
And unfortunately I have to wait for the manga ending. Gaaaah.

I really liked the ending too ^^; i found it very emotional and i actually felt depressed the rest of the day after watching it xD Yup, that's how pathetic i am lol. However, i WAS very disappointed with the ending. But then again, i feel that way about most anime endings because i know it's the "End". I've seen all the eps and there's no more! ._. which in itself, i find very depressing lol. BUUUUT fear not fellow Furuba fan! ;P The manga is STILL on-going and it goes way way WAAAAY farther than the anime! ;P Plus the anime leaves out and adds bits a lot xD so read the manga! In many ways, its better! Although i have to admit that i do prefer the anime version of Kagura's first appearance.. lol ANYWAY xD the end of the anime is actually in the 6th vol of the manga, and i think theres something like 15 vols altogether now? *shrug* xD Now all we need to do is sit back and wait for TokyoPop to do it's work so we can go out and grab the first ones we see!!! Or in my case, interatively swipe them at http://www.amazon.co.uk xD

I don't know about you, but I loved the ending. Sure, it was a LITTLE cheesy in the anime, but when I read it in the manga I teared up right there in the bookstore. It was REALLY touching. And also, the manga isn't over. It's on volume 15 and still going. I don't see how someone couldn't like the ending, atleast not in the manga. x_x I think the only part I didn't like in that whole series was that part about the Yuki fangirls. It was... boring XD;;;

If you're refering tp the fact that the last frame is a close up with Tohru, then I whole heartdly agree. Horrible way to end an anime. We don't want a close up, we want a resolution and the classic "screenshot of the sky" senerio. Besides that the ending itself was....odd to say the least. I haven't see it in 2 years so it's kinda fuzzy. My friend said it would make me cry. Not one tear shead (then again I've only cried for 3 animes, R.O.D The TV, Nightwalker, and the ending of Last Exile. and the ending of the the J-drama Summer Snow) For me it wasn't an emotional impact. (Plus Kyo's other form looked pretty ugly if you ask me...It's like that jacked up warewolf in the 3rd Harry Potter movie.....) Since I haven't read much of the manga (even though I have the 1st vol and borrowing 2-5, I just haven't wanted to read them) I don't know how it ends manga wise, but I hope it's alot better. But FB's ending was a HECK of alot better the Kare Kano (His and Her circumstances) ending. Worst ending for a shojo anime...period XD I'm glad I've beencollecting the manga because I was pissed lol. Yeah I'm not a "Anything Fruit's Basket I will go gaga, glomp, and faint" fangirl. Like alot of animes I respect it and like it, but I'm not that type of fangirl for really any anime because to me they're always much better ones out there then to be a total fangirl for just one, so if I seem mean, that's why.
Yey it goes on.
I can see why people would like the ending...I guess.
Spoiler:
it's just Akito is really evil to Yuki and all Sohma's and then Tohru says I'm glad I met you and that's it? Very anticlimatic in my opinion but there you go.

That's sorta the point x_x And actually, she said "I'm glad I met you... blah blah skip a bunch... and everyone will be sad when you die" and he'd always thought everyone hated him, and he knew he was born just to die because he was the "core of the curse" or whatever. Yeah, there's a long explination but I'm too lazy to type it. I did think the ending sucked a bit (Atleast in the anime... those parts in the manga were REALLY good) but it still left you with a really really good feeling if you actually understood the whole entire series. But they cut ALOT of stuff out of the anime, so I guess why some of those parts (like the Kyo's True Form part) were alot better in the manga.

Actually, the ending made me cry. XDDD But I was kinda pissed off that they not only ended it there and didn't continue the anime, but that the end of the anime was so soooooo very altered from the manga. I remember, I watched the anime first, and then when I read the manga I was like, "WTF? It's so mixed up!! XDD" Even though it was the anime that was mixed up... And I still can't believe Akito's really a girl. XDDDDDD
Akito's really a girl? Is that even in the anime?!?

Yeah. I heard about it when the volume first came out. (vol. 12 I think.) And the reason he's not so girly in the anime is because when they made the seires and were making that decision about the VA, Takaya-sensei (the mangaka) wasn't there. (I heard rumours that she had been in a car crash and was in the hospital at the time. Don't quote me on it, though.) So that's the story behind the anime/manga discrepency. =P
Oh, I <3 Furuba. Both versions.
