Yes, this is the project I've been secretly babying for a month and a half, and this is the cast I've been gloating about in the "VAA Little Happy Moments" thread, all completely under the radar-- and yes, even the cast didn' t know about the OP, which I asked Princess Clairey to do as a special treat. :3


Aside from the total timing/quality trauma this thing suffered courtesy of YouTube the town rapist, I am SO proud of everyone's work on this. Special thanks to Emma, LittleStar, TriPredRavage, and Princess Clairey, all of whom made my first project the best experience I could have asked for.


SUMMARY: Rosa wakes up in purgatory, where Beato made snacks.

I still feel butthurt about lack of Battler slamming Beato's head into the table. Oooh so butthurt.;_;

Anyway, it was PAAFECTO~ I thought the voice effect at the end was kinda weird, but other than that it was awesome.

WOW!!! This is was amazing, guys! The singing and everyone's acting... everything was great! There was a weird voice effect at the end, but besides that, bravo.

I seriously have no idea how that robo-echo thing happened. I think I might have accidentally bumped something and split the stereo track, but it really was not intentional. O__o

So, I'm just going to throw this out there.

This was my first, and remains to be my only exposure to this series. I have no idea what is going on, but I liked the line "how about you slice up those cow tits of yours and make me a sandwich?" So I had to accept when Simbaga approached me with this clip.

I thought everybody did really well. The off synced audio makes it hard for me to judge my performance though. It's like I can't hear myself over myself... if that makes any sense, so I don't know how I did on this one...

All and all, it was a lot of fun to record! But I still have no clue what's going on. (Was I turned into a chair prior? I hope I was a comfy chair...)

Wow, all of you gave such energetic and lively performances! It's nice to hear such an interesting interpretation for Beatrice. Also, I really really liked the stellar lyrics for the opening and the style that Clairey infused into her singing. It's quite the appropriate clip for the occasion~

TriPred: "Furniture" is basically Beatospeak for "my bitch." ;D The basic premise of the story is that Battler and Beatrice are fighting, in some bizarre purgatory-ish meta-world, over what killed Battler and his family the night of their family conference. She says she killed them with magic, he says a human did it, because if he acknowledges that she is a witch she can fully exist. This scene follows a point at which Battler gives up, so this is his badass redemption scene. =D bring me my goddamn slippers!

Wow that was really, a pretty appropriate Halloween dub! Although the scene itself creeped the hell out of me (I felt like screaming at the screen, DON'T EAT IT!") the acting and the singing were flawless.

I've never really heard PrincessClairey sing before but O_O wow you're amazing, you made the song sound soo perfect ^_^

I really liked everyone's acting performance.

Rosa made me feel as if she was really terrified and regretful for what she had done to her daughter.

Beatrice was eloquent, creepy and pure evil ^_^ (her voice reminds me of Queen Brahne in actorman's dub).

Maria almost made me go 0_0 because not only was she a convincing little girl she seemed a little mad and scary like she was sposed to.

Battler was on for only a few seconds but he had a very confident sounding voice, like he was about to kick Beato ass XD.

This was epic win! I love the energy of the cast. I thought the cast was amazing and it was a fitting cast. Simbah, I liked your take on Beato here, and I'm glad you used your posh accent on this one, as it worked pretty well.

Also the opening made this for me. Clairey did another great job on her singing here.

Oh my! I totally forgot this was due out today :D

I haven't seen/heard anything but my part (the singing) so I thought I'd watch the whole thing!

I thought it was brilliant, the whole thing. Perfectly mixed, and speaking from the point of view of someone who doesn't know the anime at all, I think the voices matched the characters perfectly. The VA for Beatrice and the little girl were particularly brilliant.

And let me tell you, that song is damn hard to sing so I'm glad you guys liked it! ;)

Everyone and everything was perfectly done, and I have no real complaints. The OP was beautifully sung, and the lyrics fit perfectly. Each VA matched their role with great emotion and delivery. The mixing was spot-on and extremely professional. I've watched this several times already. :3

Annyway, as for the clip, I thought it was pretty trippy. My one complaint is that Beato's mic quality was a little tinny compared to everyone else. Other than that, nice job. C:

This was quite the clip. I've been following this series very closely and I do say that I was pleased with the vocal cast. You all represented the characters very well in your acting, delivery, and choice of tonality with only very minor things I wanted to point out.

Simbaga - Really enjoyed your dignified, diabolically egotistical approach to Beatrice. She is such a strong role to play with many ways one could take her on. You gave her much justice with your energy and acting. The only part that I felt was a bit weak side was your last line and that the line "I like it!" was delivered on the quiet side, but that's really nothing in comparison.

Emma - Though she sounded a bit young with your voice choice and some peaking happening on the yelling lines, Rosa, as a character, was still made convincing. The enacted fear was real, and I applaud you for creating such believable choking noises. Nicely done.

TriPredRavage - You do sound fitting as Battler. Definitely calm and collected, ready for a challenge. For someone who doesn't know a thing about the series, you took to him well. Simbaga made the right choice indeed.

LittleStar - You already have a great reputation for that adorable voice. It was great to see you in a more vicious role to add a different level to such a character like Maria. That laugh was priceless. Knew you had a psycho in you beneath all the cuteness, haha.

Princess Clairey - Pretty amazing vocal prominence! Your approach to the OP was venerably executed. You definitely had the class and sass in your vocal style to give an English version of this song much dignity.

Though I am not sure what programs everyone is using to record their lines, the mixing is what I believe was a bit of a weak point. Simbaga had what noticeably sounded like hard Noise Removal on her lines, giving them a hollow, echo-like sound throughout. I did hear some similar noise removal effects, albeit less noticeable, on Battler and Rosa. Also, though everyone executed their lines clearly, there were times when the mixing got in the way of hearing one character over another. For example, a few of Emma's gasps and the music overshadowed the end of Simbaga's lines. There was also a bit of background noise lingering in TriPredRavage's and LittleStar's lines also during quieter moments.

I do give Simbaga much credit for putting together this fine project. Though mixing was good overall, the vocal cast and OP singer, again, made this definitely worth watching and a successful project. Well done to all of you and hope I can work with you all at some point in the future. I'd definitely be on board.

Normally, this would have scared the heck out of me. (Seriously, she's really being forced to eat...aw, I can't even say it!) I probably would've stopped watching by the time they were force-feeding her that drink (if I heard correctly, it was blood. o_O). But that fight-scene beginning was SOOOO awesome! I really did love it, truly.

I'm debating whether to watch this series. It appears to be dubbed--the mouth movements pretty much matched up with the voice. But this clip is sort of giving me the heebity bajeebies about the rest. o_O I'm also debating whether to email the YouTube link to my friend. (She'd probably yell at me for it, but if I told her it was a fandub, she might be less apt to do so!)

I'm fairly new to VAA, but I've heard rumors of the amazing TriPredRavage. However, I can see why Littlestar would be a celebrity, too. I hope, at some point, I can have the opportunity to work with you guys!
