Little Shop of Horrors is a classic tale about a man eating plant, hell bent on world domination, with an appetite for blood! The plant out smarts our hero - Seymour Krelborn - and manipulates him into serving up his enemies, aquaintances and eventually the one true love of his life in the name of fame and fortune. Add to this a dentist with a fetish for pain and motorbikes, some raunchy street urchins and a fairy tale romance and you have some idea why this show has rocked both broadway and London's west end.
We need an actor who can play the plant, one of the main parts. This person will need be a male and have a deep voice and be paritcularly well at singing, becuase this is an adaption from a musical.
Seeing or knowing the music is a great help but is not required for this part.
f your interested, send your auditions to blackdagger@gmail.com
thankyou

You say you need a male with a particularly low voice and can sing, am I correct? If you cannot find a male voice actor to do the role (i am sure you will, however) can women still try out for the plant? And if you cannot find someone to sing and voice the part will you have two separate people (one for singing, one for voice over) ? I am just curious. Not like I will audition or anything but I have seen Little Shop of Horrors (love it!) and would like to see your production succeed. I was wondering if I may help out in any way ^___~.

*sings*
'i'm your genie, i'm your friend, i'm your willing slave,
just take one and chance feed me and..
you know the kind of treats,
the kind of red hot sweets,
the kind of licky sticky things i craaaaaaaave!
lol, sorry i was in this musical at uni last summer, all the songs are still in my head... :P
but that song's a classic.
alas i'm a girl and yes a deep voice with attitude would then do justice to the plant and to that song i love the most (feed me)
would also love to hear it when its done, let us know on the site and good luck with the rest of the production ^_^
Oh man, I wish I was a guy right now! We're singing Little Shop of Horrors, Skidrow, and Somewhere that's Green in my theater class! ^^ Ok, just PM me if you need any help! -^o^-

Please read the guidelines (http://www.voiceacting.co.uk/board/viewtopic.php?t=4703) about how to post your auditions in the correct format, as you are missing quite a bit. Thanks.

Heya, this is my friend and co-writer who is helping on little shop of horrors. Yeah, only a guy can be used for the plant, sorry. The plant is one of the characters that have that kinda...distinctive voice.
Audrey 2
Originally played by Levi Stubbs in the movie, a former four tops singer, and brought to life by what i imagine to be frank oz's use of puppetry, Audrey 2 was the 'mean green mother, from outer space'. One day while shoping for strange and exotic plants, Seymour gets sold this plant from a strange chinese man. He soon find it has a weird taste in food, and begins feeding it what it craves for blood. Soon it gets too big to feed from seymours finger and convinces seymour to start killing for him. We're doing the broadway version, so no happy ending i'm afraid...
Voice type: We need a deep voice which is good at singing. As good an impression as you can do of the plant. And to answer and earlier question, yes, if an actor is good but doesn't want to sing we'll find someone else to do the singing.
We'll be looking for more characters after the trailer (female characters mostly) so be on the look out *nods* . Send your auditions to blackdagger@gmail.com with the usual information
(Can you edit this into sloberingdogs post or somthing nikki? Not sure when he can get online to edit it...)

I'd audition. But I'm not sure what you want me to do. Some lines or something would help. Our shall I just hunt something down myself?

Some lines: (Sorry, not at my quickest first thing in the morning)
1: Do i look like an inanimate object to you?
2: Feed Me!
And finally, if you don't mind singing, could you sing about a minute of a song with the voice you'd use for audrey 2? It doesn't have to be from little shop of horrors, but it'd be great if it was.
Thanks.
