VAA Mafia.

This is a CYOM (Choose your Own Mafia) style game in which you get to choose someone on the VAA and play as if you were them. Basic rules of Mafia which were written up here by Matt can be located here (http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/showthread.php?t=23411).

Some extra rules.

1. This first one should go without saying, but be respectful of the person you are impersonating.
2. No chatting outside the forum unless you are Mafia or are chatting in the skype chat thread that osparrow runs.
3. There is no number selection in this game, rather just ask to join and then PM me a list of 3 VAA members you'd like to be. It's a first come to my inbox, first served situation, so if your top choice has already been taken, I'll move down your list. If all three are taken, I'll ask you to select another member.
4. Votes must be in Bold. For instance, Vote: DonJuan, or Unvote: DonJuan. Not in bold, it won't count.
6. Most importantly, have fun.

"Hello, and welcome everyone to Caesar's Palace, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Home of course to the 2009 VAA Mafia Game, and the VAA's largest Toga Party! I have to admit that this is only my second time wearing a toga, but I could get used to this. Many thanks to Nikki for funding our trip out here from VAA Account Funds; and indeed, paying for Matt to be at the tables in the Casino the whole week. Last I heard, the Casino wasn't fairing too well against him. But now, let's go down to the arena floor and join our Game Master. You know him as DonJuan, but for this game, he's Vincent Valentinus!"

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to this year's VAA MAFIA GAME!" Everyone cheered as he made that announcement. "Now I do have some bad news, and that is that I have been informed that we have some spies representing those copycat groups like VAC in here. So we're going to hold our contests as usual, but we'll need to find those VAC rats before they cause us any more trouble. So with that said, I just have one question for you all. Are you ready?!" The crowd gave a light cheer. "NO! That's not good enough! I said, ARE YOU READY?!"

The crowd continued to cheer. "Well then, for the thousands in attendance, and the millions watching at home, and for Matt who's making the Caesar's Palace bank go bankrupt under his skills. Let's get ready to SUCK IT!!! With that said, we'll begin our first challenge for this year's tournament. The first day will be simple enough. You're almost all voice actors and actresses, so we're going to give today to warm up exercises for the voice. All you must do is make your argument about what you would like to see happen. But you must do so, in the form of a tongue twister. The user with the best tongue twister for their argument, will be given a prize. Good luck!"

It is now Day One. It'll take 9 to auto lynch, and the day ends at 10pm Eastern.

Oh, and you have a No Lynch ticket, and a second may become available, but at a cost to the players.

Uhh... Statistically, we're better off doing a random lynch than a no-lynch. At least with a random lynch, we've got some chance of getting mafia---whereas a no-lynch will only set us behind if someone is night killed.

I think we should still try to reach some sort of decision.

I mean... "statistically speaking" it would NOT be better to do random lynch. Worst case scenario, we will lynch a Townie, Mafia will kill a Townie overnight, then we are down 2 Townies. Higher probability says we will kill a Townie. Being down one Townie > being down two (and if protectors are doing their job, we will have none down...?)

Well, yeah, it's a gamble. But if we don't do a lynch at all, then we have a ZERO percent chance of getting mafia. We might get a townie on accident, which is the worst case scenario, but we might not.

I'm sorry that you're upset. Really, I am. It does suck getting lynched the first day.

I am not going to explain again why I think random lynches for the benefit of the town, but I DO think it is for the best. Yeah, it'll suck if we lynch a townie right off the bat, but if we manage to get a mafia member---especially a godfather or something like that---then we start off with a big advantage. I think the risk is worth the possible benefits.

Expected Cost(random lynch) = [<50%] * Killing Mafia * +1 (good) + [>50%] * Killing Townie * -1 (bad) < negative value.
Expected Cost(no lynch) = 100% * 0 = zero value.

I'd go for the zero value. But that is just me.

Although I could see why lybi would be upset being the one getting lynched. However, we were also losing a no lynch ticket in the process (but I'm sure no one will notice this if lybi does turn up as mafia).

Well, two innocent bystanders have been taken from us. Let us now give our respects as we take a moment of silence to remember them." [Two seconds later.] "That's enough! Now, I'm sure you are all wondering, but we have another exercise for you all today. It helps to know different dialects as a Voice Actor or Actress, so today, is Talk like a Pirate day! Alright you guys. Let's actually talk about this. It seems the only reason we are voting for Elad is because it is a random lynch bandwagon.

That did not bode well for us last night. And with our numbers especially weakened after yesterdays bloodbath, I think it is a better idea to talk and discuss with reason our suspicions.

lybi: (6)- Osparrow, Xyk, IntoRapture, a la mode, elad, CrossFire

These are the people who voted for lybi day 1.

A la mode is dead, so no worries there.

Osparrow always wants double lynch (I'm sure her character calls for it too...???) so she's okay for now.

IntoRapture REALLY REALLY wanted to do a random lynch (and is now voting for elad).

Xyk hasn't been active this day? (Or at least hasn't voted)

elad is always insane (even if his character is cleared)

crossfire claims she didn't want the double lynch the first day.

If mafia wanted to aim to win faster, they would have probably wanted the kill on day 1 (especially since lybi turned up as town). Same goes for SK. And since mafia / SK was active on night 1, they're definitely being aggressive so good chances are one of these 5 is a baddie.

I am leaning towards voting for IntoRapture. She hasn't had a reputation of wanting random lynches on the first day but she also hasnt' been around as long so I don't know. She is also not here to defend herself. :<

First off, HOW has no one thought I was totally suspicious based on my roleplay alone. I'm not saying I'm suspicious or anything, but everyone's like "okay, we'll just run with her..." Guys... I love it, and I'm definitely going to use your alliances because I'm definitely on your side, but STILL. I know I said DON'T look me up, but usually people when playing this person were like "Are they usually like that?!" It's crazy everyone's trusting me now. Either I'm not doing this guy justice or people are just accepting the whole DOUBLE LYNCH thing is actually a townie thing. Which is worrysome. What if in the next mafia I do this? Will you guys STILL TRUST ME? I'm obviously town, but get your heads in the game.

Okay. More seriously, did anybody get any information last night? I haven't checked anything yet, so I can't say anything yet, and I totally didn't keep a list running, and after yesterday, I'm nots goings backs to checks everythings... sos if someones else wants to dos it, be my guest.

WEEEEEEEELL~ I can't speak for everyone, but... I know who you are. xD And I know what they're like. But the thing is, are they mafia? I don't know. I mean... just like most games these days, I dunno who is mafia. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm more likely to let you live if you're active and contributing, even if you are mafia. Y'know? Kill off inactives or people you have a solid case against until you can determine a pattern to find other mafioso~ So there's my spiel.

Of course, after what DJ just said... it makes me want to believe that he's gonna pop up at the end and say, "No, town will LOVE it if Sparrow dies! HAHAHA!"

As day broke once again, a messenger came rushing over to Vincent with a look of concern on his face. He was debriefed and had informed Vince of the tragic accident that had taken place.

Messenger: It seems that last night, Xyk had stayed at the bar late, and whilst he was on his way back to his room, and at that moment, round the corner, came a mysterious person in a Knight's uniform.

Vincent: The Cerebral Assassin...

Messenger: No, no, no. Not Triple H -- This person was wearing a choking the chicken watch.

Vincent: Yes, that's him.

Messenger: Well, he saw Xyk and rushed towards him with his head bowed, in order to receive his blessing we presume, and, er, unfortunately, killed him stone dead.

Vincent: How?

Messenger: They were wearing a Turkish helmet.

Vincent: Oh, I see, yes -- one of those with the two foot spike coming out of the top?

Messenger: It's one of those things they normally use for butting their enemies in the stomach and (Vincent joins in) killing them stone dead.

Vincent: (sarcastic) Yes, so, presumably he or she'd forgotten they were wearing it.

Messenger: Well, do you know, that's exactly what seems to have been done! A tragic accident...tragic.

Vincent: Accident, my butt.

When this was finished, Vincent took the microphone and addressed everyone. "It seems Xyk has met a tragic end, and is thus out. But today should be interesting. In Xyk's honour, this shall be "Talk like an Adult Swim Character event", so get cracking."
