I never thought that I'd finish this dub before the Endless Eight arc...well, ended. Here's a fandub of the end of episode three of season two, otherwise known as Kyon's first fail at ending the neverending summer.

Kairi, I LOVE you as Haruhi!! Your delivery was so natural and it flowed so well. I think your voice fits so well and I believed it fit Haruhi's character perfectly. I like it better than Wendy Lee's (or whatever the official dub actress's name is) interpretation.

Y. Chang - you had all the right emotions! I like your lower voice a lot and you gave a solid performance. However, in some spots your delivery seemed a little.. robotic I guess? It might be that you enunicate a little too much or something, I can't really put my finger on it. Overall though, this was a great job.

Mixing was fantastic! Even though you didn't use the OST, it still sounded fine because it is season one music afterall XDD I would request more clips but... you pretty much just dubbed episodes 3, 4, 5, 6... etc right there haha

Even though I'm not fond of the Endless Eight episodes, this was still really well done!

Kairi- Your voice for Haruhi did fit very well though I felt like you could've sounded a slightly bit more depressed than complacent. That's nitpicking really since I couldn't find anything else wrong with your performance. =)

Y.Chang- I'm really digging your Kyon voice! However, I agree with tomatocars about how you sounded a little robotic. It was at the end part where Kyon has the narrative about his homework and some words sound a bit too overemphasized when they shouldn't be. It's actually hard to point out really;there was just something slightly off.

Overall, the clip was great! The season one OST is still hot stuff so that didn't bother me at all. Mixing was nice and clear as well. If you dub more scenes (though really what would be the point; they're all the same until god knows when) that would be awesome.

@Everyone: Thank you very much for the critiques! Mmyeah, I'm not very happy with this new season, and, needless to say, will be very excited next week when it's...over.
I hesitate to say that because I'm afraid it'll go on again just to spite me. D:

Y-Chang: Hey you know how you everyone's saying that your over enunciating,they're right.And I wouldn't have the character any other way,when you performed it that way I just couldn't really see it any other way.I really think you pulled this character off very well and the build as you were reaching for haruhi was the best part for you.In the end you were very low-key,you just seemed a little to indifferent,I don't know but I really liked this and your mic is awesome!

Kairi: With Haruhi I think you gave her a nice voice pitch wise but I think I would have liked to see MORE like you more into your character,maybe a little bit more perkiness quality to her voice and upbeat but I understand since she wasn't really acting that upbeat in the scene,but still I think just more umph in the lines would have really done the character more justice,but all in all I don't think your performance was bad I just think with some tweaking it could have been better.






Mixing: I think the mixing was well done here,sfx with the ice glass were good and bgm was at a good volume but it peaked with the piano at some parts.Everything was really well done.

Y.Chang - Honestly, the over enouncation some people were talking about wasn't a big deal to me, I thought it fits the character when it comes to how much narration he has to do. I think the delivey was a bit off when Kyon is noting that Haruhi isn't satisfied, but it's extremely nitpicky, good job and I wish I had your mic quality ^^.

Kairi - I liked your Haruhi. I compliment your voice a lot but this time I'd love to say that you did a nice job with the delivery as well. Nice job ;)

Mixing - The peaking was the only thing that bothered, other than that, awesome job ^^

Ok, I've been holding off giving a critique about this until I actually saw the episode...and I gotta tell I feel freaking ripped off! Seriously we only get a 13 episode season and your dedicating 8 of those to the SAME DAMN EPISODE!? Seriously, I've watched all the ones that are out and there are no major differences! If I remember the light novels had this all done in a freaking chapter! Man we better get a season three if this is all we are getting in season 2!

ANYWAYS! Sorry about my little tirade there, that's not what this is about! Onto the critiques!

Ok Y.Change: Ok...I feel like such a dick saying this, but you didn't really work for me here. I mean I am really sorry, but...hmmm...I am not sure exactly how to describe it. I guess I'll start with the voice. Ok, now I know there is room for creative license here, and no I don't want to hear a impression of the Japanese or Crispin Freeman's voice....but in this case...nothing about the voice screamed Kyon to me. Maybe my ears are out of whack but it sounded more geeky than anything else. Also I was a little surprised with a lot of the delivery choices you made. It kind of sounded like you were talking to a live audience and trying to make sure the folks in the back could hear you. I don't know if you have any kind of theater training but that might come from that. But because of that it came off very unnaturally to me. That being said you did have some good deliveries, but I kind felt it was hit and miss. As for the annunciation, I disagree that you had an over annunciation problem, what I had a problem with was it sounded a bit too careful, like you were really forcing the over annunciation. Annunciation is important, but it needs to sound more natural. Try to ease off of it a little bit, or if your not comfortable with it just practice it a bunch till it is natural. Ok, I should wrap this up since I have typed pretty much an entire essay for ya here. What I would try is deepen your tone up, but not TOO much, try to sound a bit more natural, like you would if you were talking to someone, as apposed to acting, and try to work the annunciation in there a tad bit more naturally to. Alright, hope that is helpful. These are just my opinions so feel free to disagree on any points, and good luck in the future!

Kairi: Alright, I didn't hear nearly as much of you in this clip as I did Kyon, so because of that my critique for you is going to be (thankfully) much shorter. This is also due to the fact that I actually really liked your Haruhi. Again, I didn't hear a spectacular amount of it, so I can't form a full opinion, but all in all I thought it was very well done! You had a good tone, your deliveries were good, and the voice worked. Not a whole lot more to say apart from that. Just keep doing what your doing!

2. There's no need to feel like a dick. Though it's too bad I "didn't really work for you here," I do appreciate how thorough and constructive your critique was. All I ask for is a little clarification: what did you mean by geeky? To me that implies something along the lines of a lisp and an obnoxiously nasal voice, which I don't believe I used.

Hmmm...I guess that was just the impression I got. It's hard to explain. I suppose it was a mixture of the annunciation and the higher pitch. It is hard to pin point, and I am sorry I cannot be more specific, but that is the best I can describe it as.
