AnimeNorth 2005?

I didn't see anything about AnimeNorth on the board, but if I just missed something, bap me on the nose ^^;;

Uhm... I was wondering if anyone here was going to go to AnimeNorth 2005 next May, because... as of right now, that's the only anime con I really have the ability to go to [chuckles a bit...] But, I was wondering if anyone was planning on showing up for that? Or cosplaying? Because I'm -definitely- going to cosplay, I just don't know as what, I have an Inuyasha costume, but a) There are usually, like, 80 Inuyashae and b) I'm not entirely good with the idea of wearing my IY costume in late May [chuckles...]

Anyways, just a random question.

I was going to go to Anime North 2003 and 2004, but never did because of so many issues, I'm going this year if it's the last thing I do!
I don't know if I'll cosplay though, I have no ideas. I once made a n00b costume of Ranma but I would never wear it anywhere. I have a picture of it somewhere in the depths of my room but for fear of burning anyone's eyes out I won't find/scan/post.

There's still a bit of time, right? If anyone has any SIMPLE cosplay ideas, please point them out ^^

I went the past two years and should be going again this year. I'll be cosplaying as Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist *points at signature*

We should meet up on one of the days :-). My main focus will be on attending events with my friends, this year, though... since I kinda didn't do much of anything last year XD;

Rather than just shaking hands (^^;;), maybe we should arrange to go out for lunch/dinner one of the days. It might be fun :).
I'll be there the whole weekend so either Friday or Saturday would be good to meet up with you guys, but is there anyone going on just the Saturday?

Now that my plans are a bit finalized, if you're looking to spot me there...
Friday: Iwase Kyoko from Initial D... you'll be able to recognize me 'cause I'll be wearing a cardboard model of her black Mazda and hanging out with some Mako and Sayuki cosplayers with their model Sil-80.
Saturday: Edward Elric in his standard Red coat outfit, I'm 5'2, so surprisingly shorter than most Edward cosplayers I've seen (it's not right) and I'll be hanging out with my big sister who will be Winry.
Sunday: Probably not cosplaying. Possibility that I'll do Initial D again this day or Tao Ren from Shaman King (costume from last year... I'm Crimson Firefly on cosplay.com if you're really curious :-p) while hanging out with my friend who's determined to cosplay Jun.

Enough about me, though... if you guys still don't know what to cosplay think about your favourite characters and costumes that aren't to hard from series you like. If I give you suggestions you may not even know who the characters are, so.. it's kind of pointless :/

Hmm... and I'm going to add some of you guys to my AIM list soon, since it's easier to arrange stuff that way.

I've contacted a few of you guys and so far those that I've talked to have expressed a desire to meet for lunch on Saturday. I like this idea too, because more of us are guaranteed to be there on Saturday.

We won't be choosing a time until after the con schedule comes out I don't think, though. Either way, I hope some more people will join us ^^.

Hi!! Hehe, it's so cool that people responded to this! I'm definitely gonna be there, I'm pretty certain now, and I think I have some friends who would think it's cool to visit some people who do amateur voice acting.

Also, I'm going as Yuki Eiri from Gravitation, along with a Shuichi, and as close to a fullcast as I can beg and plead my friends into dressing up as. The fact that my birthday is a few days prior to AnimeNorth should help this.

Alright... I'll probably mass spam your emails later, however...
I did want to wait for the schedule, but since they aren't posting one and there's only 5 days left or so before most of us head off to the con I will take the initiative.

We will meet at 11:30am on Saturday in the lobby of the Doubletree hotel. I will be dressed as Edward Elric and should have a sign that says something about an AVA meet in case it's crowded. I will most likely be with a Winry and an Envy cosplayer (also from Fullmetal Alchemist).
I am not sure what restaurant we will go to... since I'm only really familiar with the Subway and Harvey's in the area (the former does not have enough space, unless we want to sit outside for lunch and the latter was very very busy last year). If anyone knows the area a bit better than me, please pitch in and tell me what else is closeby :).

Most of them were taken while waiting at the masquerade check-in. Although I never got to stay long enough to know if my friend or I won anything...we went to the j-pop dance for a bit to find out but we got bored fast and it was so loud.

AN was good fun ^^ At least for me, I know some people complained of not having a good time but I did. I couldn't make it to the meet up thing, I was busy all Saturday running around and trying to keep up with all the people I was with.

I was the Yuna in masq. right before the two Sailor Moon cosplayers (entry 73 or something). Got my first ever cosplay award for it too, so waiting around in the green rooms forever was totally worth it. Not that I really minded, I would have had a good time regardless. Friday I ran around as Kagura Sohma from Fruits Basket...and Sat night and Sunday I was the Omi Tsukiyono with the Aya from Weiss Kreuz.
