I'm dying after the Saved By the Bell thing

DYING

also, what play was Ry-Guy's monologue from?

Thank you?

Deathtrap. One of the few shows that saved me from utter boredom in my Playwriting & Directing class in high school...so I had an especial affection for it. I think the only other show (you know, besides the ones we wrote) that did that was Psycho Beach Party. Which also rocks in a different and yet still hilarious way.

It's such a great play within a play within a play...with in a play? I can't remember how many times it's a play in a play.

It's like your mind plays with you while you watch it. It's awesome.

Also, I lie when I say I know Shakespeare. I actually don't, but I /do/ understand the language. It is English, after all.

...That's a lie too. I just don't know enough Shakespeare, but I know more than the average bear.

Also, I was playing around with my mac account and remembered I could upload stuff and whatnot. So yeah. That's in my first post under Dylan's.

Wow, the subtitles were interesting. I don't have a dragon though - that goes back to my early noveling days *coughcough*

Thank you so much for the critique - I am actually surprised at your honestly (and applaud) since I tend to get a lot of sugar coating and not what I actually need to help me improve. Actually, I played Hippolyta of ten or so odd lines on stage, so was only able to observe Titania (who was extremely boring and had the part only because the director wanted younger actors for the fairies). I also did run out of time and made this a one shot effort, as you noticed, and looking back I can notice a lot of the stuff that came.

Hopefully, I am not a one trick pony, but I have a lot of improving to do too. Definitely expect me back - this is a great exercise!

This is looking to be fun... BTW, my monologue was taken from a scene in Neil Simon's Come Blow Your Horn. It's not actually written as a monologue, but you can create a monologue from any scene in which one character has the bulk of the lines.

Thank you guys for your critiques and I won't be doing Shakespeare any more. So I thank you and I hope to become a better actor through your criticisms.

I'm thinking about auditioning for this but I have one slight problem. I am not sure how to make a mp3 file :sweat so far all I can do is wav files. So would that be acceptable or could anyone by chance tell me how to make a mp3 file please :sweat.

I'm definitely going to audition for this. Should be fun! Now time to hunt down a good monologue (or write one).

I had a feeling it was Neil Simon. He always writes such distinctive characters. XD

Thank you, we really try to be honest without being mean. I may have overstepped the mean like a little for Ellos' critique, but I hope not.

We'll decide who we're taking for the competitive season when the deadline gets here.

Since you weren't called safe, that means we'll compare notes at the end of the deadline to figure out who we're taking.

Dylan Collins

Ellos, you can absolutely resubmit a new audition as well. That goes for anyone who we didn't accept. If you don't feel like your audition is going to get you on the show, re submit before the 22nd.

*blush* Awesomeness, thanks much, I'm plenty flattered! Here's lookin' forward to the next round.

..... okay, I was actually just listening to the last bit, and I was about to mention that you'd only named 4 advancers, but just now you finally got around to mentioning name #5. So yeah, ignore me. XD

Treg, you work at a renaissance fair? You get cooler every minute.

Maybe I'll try out after all...

Tregatry
02-13-2009, 09:35 PM
Haha, yeah. Every year since I was sixteen (when I could drive myself up, it was the agreement I had with my mom). My dad used to take us every year for a day and would force us to wear the costumes and get really into it (he was in a wheelchair, so this was rather amusing especially considering that at that time the fair was covered in sawdust and his wheelchair would get caught). So...I don't know, despite being forced, I wanted to work there, and started. I'm part of a singing/improv group, as opposed to one of the stage shows. My first year I was a faery.

I can't help it Dylan, I was born awesome.

I'm just waiting for the day God goes..."No, you know what? You think you're such hot shit? You run the whole of existence. See how you like that."

So I do. And I pwn. And God goes and sulks in a corner somewhere (He'll probably make one up for this special purpose) and just withers away.

It's a good thing I don't believe He exists anyway. Otherwise I think I'd be slightly saddened by that prospect.

Also: No! Poooole! Come to my side!

Also: Pole, you're a bitch for your entry. And I love you for it. You sick bastard.

So far I only am using the basic com default recording program so all I know how to make with it is whatever format it makes it into lol :sweat. I will be trying to send in a audition soon.

So...like...the voice recording program on what type of computer?

Look into Audacity if you haven't yet. It's a good program.

Thanks for the critique. Dylan, you not to faithful to your favorites. LOL. You just seem to like the next person more and more.
Yea, that was a tough one for me, but it was the only monologue I could think of, that was NOT Shakespeare, and I was thinking about Romeo and Juliet, but I did not want to seem Cliche. We got some great bunches of Awesome acting, this is great. I love all the auditioneers so far, and look forward to listening to more.
Sorry about the bouncing accent, but after working in a few voice projects that involve an accent, I have figured out that there are a few words that you have to really work at keeping the accent.

O, and on another note: My name can be pronounced either way. It was originally Heck's HotStuff, and then I used it for my Rock Band name as Heck Shot Stuff. So either pronunciation is good:D
You can just call me Jaime if its easier.

Dylan Collins
02-18-2009, 10:47 AM
But I pronounced it better than Tregatry. Very good.

I still love you HHS. You remind me of Ann Hathaway!

I knew I should have done Mia's speech from Princess Diaries 2! As previously mentioned (I think), I am a Hatheway, just the Canadian kind. Oh well. Aw you love me? *blush* Great picks by the way, this is getting to be a tough competition.

Hi all!

I'm brick red right now! My apologies for not posting a "Thank You" sooner, but I've been out of country on work.

Thank you So much. That critique has me really excited! The monologue is by Joseph Arnone and is called "Dark Days."

And thanks for the rooting for me! (Though I think there is some stiff competition here)

Rhayne (like Rain) and Campos (like, um, Camp and os) hehe

Oh, and did I say Thank You yet?

But then the question becomes:

Do you pronounce it Jamie or Haime?

Because I had a bail bond with a hispanic guy named Jaime and I kept saying Haime until his mom said Jamie. And I got confused because I always thought Jaime was pronounced Haime.

Crazy parents.

Because it is spelled the "girl" way, and my dad wanted it to be close to "Je t aime" or I love you in French. I not French though.

That's the best reason ever for that spelling.
