Whenever I am recording... I tend to act out the scene I'm recording. E.X. when I am pretending I am being viciously assaulted I will sometimes put down the mic/headphone set and start jumping around and pretending someone is attacking or killing me. Or when I am saying something snotty or asshole-ish... I put on a snotty or asshole look on my face.
Do you guys sometimes to this?

Well the facial expression thing is pretty standard I think; I can't imagine a voice actor who *doesn't* make facial expressions when performing their character. It seems like the jumping around thing would make a lot of unwanted noise though, not to mention going completely 'off mic.' I will however mime certain physical movements in relation to certain actions, such as doubling over if the script says the guy gets hit in the stomach.

When I'm "attacking" someone, I usually pretend to do so in order to supply the right sort of emotion.

I tend to do whatever motion I can get away with without making any unwanted sounds that my mic will pick up.

I do that. Not quite jump around, but whenever I'm an angry character, I clench my hands into fists and bang on an imaginary table :P And whenever I'm a happy giggly little girl I always wave my arms around like I'm retarded. Facial Expressions... I suppose you can't really do the voice right without facial expressions. They just come naturally to most of us o_o

I do it all the time. I especially use a lot of hand gestures, I dunno why. It just helps me if I pretend I'm actually in the scene rather than just providing a voice for it.

When AVAing, I know I certainly do face movements. I also tend to clear my throat beforehand, and have recently taken to recording all in one take, doing lines I wasn't sure of (tone-wise) twice.
Singing-wise, I'll certainly do hand movements and gestures. I've been putting my mic atop an extension pole of recent so I don't have to hold it, but can stil keep it away from my computer to prevent interference. So, this means my hands are free to move about. Though it depends on what song I'm singing, whether I'll hold my mic or not. If it's too high or too loud (i.e, belt-y), I put it on the pole. But if it's nice and slow or a song I really really like (eg, 1000 Words), I hold it.

But when I do the jumping around stuff, that is only for stuff that is not for a real project, just "parents aren't home, I'm bored to death" stuff. Lol.

I didn't used to do this, for a lot of what I voiceact, but I started to doing auditions for something a while back, I forget what it was exactly, but I was having a :soap: of a time getting the audition lines out, and I started acting out the lines, instead of just speaking them, and it worked all of a sudden ^_^
So... yeah, I do that now, most of the time, especially if it's just hand gestures or expressions.

I assume you mean 'act them out' as in 'physically act out the actions indicated' and not 'I decided to utilize some acting skills instead of just reading them off the page.' I nearly had a heart attack.

I act with more than just my voice as well ^_~. When I record I try to imagine I'm the character and act out the scene in my chair like the microphone isn't there.
(though sometimes it helps to move around beforehand if the character moves alot in the scene [such as in a fight. One example is when I voiced Terakoya in the CSPEnglish fandub of Ami no Hatsukoi. In the final fight the character is dodging an attack. To prepare for this I jumped around like I was dodging energy blasts {while watching the original video}.] or even if they don't move alot it can help.)

Assuming you were talking to -me- with the horrified tone of voice... ;)
Yes, I do mean act them out physically. It's... you know, kind of hard to voiceact unless you're acting with your voice. ^_^
...I'm being sarcastic. Just so you know.
I'll stop now, I promise ^_^;; And, I cans ee where the confuselment may have come from, I was sleepy when I wrote that.

I wake wild gestures and sometimes move my head so much it causes the mic to make noise so I have to redo the line. I gesture a lot when speaking anyway, so it's pretty natural that I ido it while voice acting.

Yeah I do XD I don't do anything overly drastic though because I am more than liable to fall off my chair and smack my head on the rat cage.

x-x; Ooh...
In the past I have run around my house and up and down stairs in order to make myself breathless for a character that was...I've also smacked my hand off my desk by accident when saying one of those lines when you just are so angryyyyyy... that's about it. Then again I haven't VAed for a lonnnnnnnnnggggg time soooo I have no idea about now.

Facial expressions? Yes. Actions? Generally, no. Because if I moved my head or body too much, my distance from the mic would change, and make the sound uneven. However, if I'm making noises, like "HA!" I'll often make the striking motion or whatever the character is doing. It helps for realism. Did it recently in fact. ^^

Sometimes if I have to sound evil, I get an evil look on my face, in the case of Legato from Trigun, I tilt my head downward slightly, somehow that helps...
