And of course, the moderator wouldn't have said that if she wasn't going to type a famous day post from her.

The workers of ShinRa Electric Power Company were at a loss. With this event, how were they to carry on?

In the center of town, a quick head count was collected by an apathetic vampire Vincent Valentine.

"We're missing two people." He noted quietly. "specifically, Patricia and Jerfrery." He added taking another look at the town.

It took Cloud a minute to respond. "Then should we split up and search for them?"

Vincent nodded. And the town split into two groups. One led by Vincent, one by Cloud.

It didn't take them long to find someone. The bloody mass on the ground was a dead giveaway that he was no longer living.

It took awhile for them to identify who it was. It took a call from Cloud's group saying they found Patricia Martin for them to realize it was INDEED Jerfrery. Taking a few blood samples, the results came back faster than humanely possible, and matched their belief.

There, laying in his own puddle of blood, lay Jerfrery, split in two by some sort of sharp object.

But nobody seemed to be complaining of the loss.

But Patrica was at her home, seemingly unscathed. And definately in a state to be identified.

As a former member of the Turks, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them is serving under Rufus. It could be Elena or Rude. osparrow didn't have room for Tseng. But once again, that is only speculation. Hojo is probably the serial killer since he is a mad scientist after all.

We've lost three townies so far (although we are apparently getting one back now): one via kill (mafia or sk), one via lynch, and one via suicide. If, as seems likely, we have a serial killer in the game, is it even certain that the mafia has any kills at all?

Most confusing, though, we seem to have had several people knocked unconscious, missing, or whatever. Are they all (with the exception of Patricia) now back?

And a source material question. LoH has indicated that she is a vampire, if I haven't missed something completely. Is there a vampire in the game? And not to sound totally naive, but... wouldn't a vampire logically be mafia? But if so, why is she telling us this???

It was after this point that they realized it was the first day of Daylight Savings Time, leaving them with more time than they had anticipated. But instead of leaving it like it was and having themselves a nice cocktail, they instead began to rethink their options.

In fact, I cannot ever remember a game in which the SK only killed mafia before. I'm guess that's accidental, as it is not in the interest of an SK to do that. But still... the chances of that first kill being mafia was about 20%, and the second was only about 7%. Combined, there's less than 2% chance that it was an accident. So... those familiar with this game - is there a character likely to identify and snuff out our mafia-types?

Also - so far, people have been identifying characters (and mostly exonerating players) via role-play. But shouldn't we be getting investigation results as well, by now?

Most of the identified characters have been confirmed to be safe. =) Also, you forgot vigilantes. It might not be serial killers. Maybe there are some townies working together? SK's don't care who they kill as long as they are the sole winner. And since the Mafia are the most likely will killing powers in the game it might be a plus for the SK to weed out some mafia. I don't think the SK is specifically doing it on purpose, I actually don't think it's a serial killer at all. It could be more than one person with killing powers.

I actually have heard of SK's just killing Mafia. It's almost impossible to win as an SK so I guess in some cases to the player it might be the matter of what side you want to win, townie or mafia.

I would never really blame an investigator comeout out and saying "Yo! I got info" Seriously, something like that leads straight to death and then you'll be screwed without an investigator. =\ There are currently only about 2 inactives the chances of them being an investigator is a bit slim. Even if it does lead to mafia, the cons may outweight the pros. Also, in some instances the investigator's info may be misleading =\

Speaking of oblivion... Sorry if it might just be me... But I don't really see the fairness of oblivion. If someone happened to be in oblivion and they are a mafia member, wouldn't that just force us to vote for an innocent during the day time no matter what? o_O I mean... they can't be voted for.Only if we get to the point where there is only one of them left - and in that case, the game is sort of on hold, since there won't be any mafia killing, either. It's sort of a way around a bad situation. Imagine that we actually got there - that we have only one mafia left (as I think is the case, btw), and that person has to be away from their computer for a day. Is it really fair to them that they cannot use their attacks?

People being inaccessible is always going to distort the game. There are only three choices that I know of: Live with the distortion Put the game on hold whenever any player informs the mod that they are away Use the oblivion optionNone is perfect, but at least early on, oblivion seems a reasonable compromise.

The problem is really the end game; but as long as there are more than a half dozen or so players left, we are probably OK.

Interesting point about Konata. It seems to me that there are a few possibilities:

1. Patricia and Konata are communicating outside the game (either both mafia or some special role that permits this)
2. Patricia is an investigator and investigated Konata before she went to oblivion.
3. Patricia's role established a special relationship between the two and let her know who Konata is.

To Rikka: I am with Namanda on this one. LoH also puts Manabi/Lenne in the clear. Although, because of her inactiveness, we COULD lynch her as our own "no-lynch" ticket since she isn't going to be helping town except for a number. I'm sure someone... ANYBODY?... knows something?
