I know i haven't been to a con yet, and i really want to go to the next one for sure! xD But does anyone know if there are any websites or shops or somewhere i can get anime/game costumes to cosplay in the uk? I don't always trust overseas shopping, since my mum lost £200 doing that once xD Or do most people just make their own costumes? x_X I could probabaly try that since i'm starting to make anime dolls to sell and make some extra money lol Although Sango's fighting outfiting might be a bit of a challenge.. xD Anyway, does anyone know anywhere in the UK that i could buy any costumes? If there are any.

EDIT: I wasn't sure if i should put this here or in the help forum. If it should be in the help forum, please let me know and i'll move it!

Try this place out for shoppnig links

http://www.cosplay.co.uk/directory.php?PHPSESSID=d3f985d61076f38797fd741e16 c076bf

or there's always http://www.cosplay.com and thier shop

I have a friend Tony and he made a couple of Naruto character costumes for himself for a con in Chicago recently. I think a lot of people just make their own or slightly alter found objects

good luck

Make your own! Make your own! MAKE YOUR OWN!
It's cheap, easy, you know it'll fit and most of the time requies less sewing than you'd think if you choose a simple-ish costume. My first cosplay was Sora from Digimon, all I needed was:
Jeans, Trainers, Red gloves, A yellow and white vest that I made by altering an old yellow T-shirt, and I made the helmet from papier mache painted with tester pots of house paint from B&Q. It took me only two days to make it, and it went down really well.
Make your own!

I could try making my own, but one of the costumes i want to make is a kimono. http://www.inu-yasha.themoon.co.uk/i/sango/sango011.gif and http://www.inu-yasha.themoon.co.uk/i/sango/sango043.jpg these are the clothes i'd want to cosplay in but i have no idea how i'm going to make them xD plus my mum is always way too busy to help xD does anyone have any suggestions?

Hey Deiji, I would recommend eBay - keep your eye out for a user called Momozakura. I've bought off her before and her costumes are really good. She hasn't got anything up at the moment but I've seen her selling Sango's kimono before :)

Looks like Sango is wearing a yukata instead of a kimono...
Maybe you can find a yukata sewing pattern? And then change the sleeves.

I went to the materials shop yesterday and they have the perfect pattern! It's for a dressing gown, but i can change that xD Also i talked to my mom about it (she used to sew clothes A LOT when i was 2 - 5 yrs old cus she didn't have enough money to buy clothes xD) and we've decided that i CAN make Sango's Yukata (casual) outfit xD i'll use fabric paint for the pink parts lol. Yay! I can't wait to get started! xD

...I'm going to try to make a lill' Kirara plushie too xD

Try and keep me updated if there's gonna be any in the south west area, like Brighton or Crawley, I'd love to go to a con. I've had a Costume idea myself, although it's not from an anime. The only problem I might have is aquiring a belt buckle that look right.
