Oh goodness, I love so many ones... so I don't really mind, but here are my suggestsion/votes anyway:
Oh Holy Night (add my vote to the pile!)
It Came Upon The Midnight Clear (only... I'm thinking of the English tune)
O Little Town of Bethlehem (Hmm, well I can think of three tunes for this... any one would do!)
Oh Come All Ye Faithful/Adeste Fideles
Carol of the Bells (hee, this would be fun as a group!)
The Coventry Carol
O Come O Come Emmanuel/Veni Veni Emmanuel (Latin, anyone...?)
The Shepherd's Farewell (Lovely lovely Berlioz piece....)
I guess some of the congregational ones might not work so well as solos (like The First Nowell and While Shepherds Watched I love too...) but we could prolly work something out ^^
There are a couple of others I don't know the name of...but the chorus is a really long "Gloooooooria!" He he. I'll think of some more.
Ding Dong Merrily On High? I'll second that!
*giggles* I'm in such a Christmas mood now!
Minty
11-30-2004, 08:21 AM
Yeah...but I think there's two different songs with the "Gloria" chorus -- both are long chorus but the way they go down the scale is different....or maybe they're just harmonies of the same song. *baffled*
Yes, I rather like "O Come O Come Emmanuel", we sang a bit of it in church but I don't know it very well...
Autumn

I thought the really long chorus one with "Glooooooria" was "Gloria in Excelsis deo". ^-^ It's a song we're signing in my choir. It means, "Glory to God in the highest".
