09/09/08 - The September Forum Changes - Part 1

[A Word to the Members]

In an effort to direct the focus to the voice acting and producing aspect of the community, accompanying the recent release of the Social Groups and Social Forums, we have decided to move the following forums to the Social Forums system.

- Iparty Room
- Dressing Room
- Fun Forum
- Mafia Games

They will each become their own respective social forum. Links will be added to the forum index for easy access.

A new "Jam Sessions"- forum will be added to the forums with following subforums to display the various Jam types in their respective categories: ScriptJam and MixJam. These will be moderated by VoiceBox and Mochan.

The ScriptJam will be what it has been: Collaborative scriptwriting in an effort to improve one's scripting and to get and share ideas. MixJam is a new one, however: There will be pre-made, short clips to mix, that will be critiqued/reviewed. Look at it as an assignment type thing for people who want to learn mixing and get started, or experiment with different things (Compressor filters, Equalizing, etc.)

Also: please use the Help Desk forum (http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/forumdisplay.php?f=146) to address issues! It's not a scary system at all: If it's an issue that affects everyone, make the ticket public. If it's a private issue, make it private. We'll have a staffpage up soon to let you know who handles what category exactly!

Please hang tight as we have some more Forum changes coming up this month as part of various new Voice Acting Alliance projects!

Edit 09/09/08: updated the information on the Help Desk feature.

In the Help Center, it is possible to open both public and private tickets. If your issue affects everyone, make the ticket public. If the issue is private, make the ticket private. There's no need to PM an admin, as a PM only hits one admin, whereas all of us can see the tickets.
