Yay X! This is a short scene from the beginning of the episode my other fandub clip is from (or going to be from, since I'm still holding auditions for it). So, for those of you who have no idea what's going on, in this scene Kotori sees the aftermath of the birth of the second Sacred Sword, or Shinken, and has a sort of mental breakdown and flashback to her mother's death when she gave birth to the first sword.

Yes, X is kind of a messed up series...

HEY LOOKIE HERE! ITS UP!

yaaaaay

Crits:

Jelly/Kotori: Nice job here, Jelly! i know you were a bit worried about how your screams and whatnot would turn out, But you did rather well ^^ The high pitched gasps "could" use a bit of work here and there, but you did get your emotion accross very well. Oh, and acting was awesome~ Voice was suiting for Kotori, I believe aswell. Overall, great Job Jelly~!! ^^

Me/Kamui-Kakyou: well, i had a dandy time here(yes, i'm aware that i said "dandy"). I thought i did a decent job here and there (it was brought to my attention that i could've went a bit more broken up or so when yelling at Kotori and holding her tightly, but yeah.. lets have that for next time ^^). That last line as Kakyou was sooo cheesy, xDD i laughed a bit, haha. but yeah, overall.. I was decent enough, i think... <.< >.> o.o;;

Dym/Fuma: Well, short but sweet, dude. (FINALLY, we're in a project together where both of us are mainish characters and YEAH! xD) But yeah... Nice acting, i thought, but the voice.. hmm... could've been notched down a bit or so... your voice was a bit high for Fuma, atleast i thought so. just lower the pitch of your voice and you're good! Great job overall, dude!

Jelly/Mixing: Awesome mixing as always, Jelly. A Bit of a mouthflap problem for Kamui, but its hardly noticable and thats just being REALLY nitpicky, xDD. Also, when i said "Kotori" for a 3rd time... it got cut of EVER SO slightly, but nothing majorly noticable, just my detail noticing. ^^;;. But yeah, AWESOME MIXING AS ALWAYS, JELLY!!

(I hope theres more clips in the future!! YAAAAAAAAAYS, xDD)

KAMUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! <33333333333333 Gosh I love Clamp Characters! Kamui = Life for me XD

Jelly/Kotori: Wow! Your screams were amazing and realistc. Not like those fake ones you hear where people try to scream. I really felt the emotion. Great job ^-^

Fayt/Kamui/Kakyou: KAMUIIIIII! I LOVE KAMUI! MY favorite clamp character besides a few in Code Geass and Syaoran, but still KYAA! I don't know why but I think I was expecting a more lower and slighty harsher tone from Kamui, but that's probably due to my watching the Tsubasa Chronicle OVA over and over again for Kamui! I thought you did a great job as Kamui however. I'm not going to lie....I went: "KYA KAMUI" when I saw him. XD Kakyou sounded mysterious and narratory..is that a word?. Anyway YAY for you ^-^.................................KYAA KAMUI..okay I"m done...why am I such a spaz...XD

Dymatrex/Fuma: Only a few lines, but I liked it. I enjoyed your preformance. ^-^ You seemed very concerned and that's good that your emotion showed very well. *claps* ^-^

Mixing wise nothing really stood out to me as a problem. I didn't notice anything while I was watching. I enjoyed whating this. ^-^

I'm counting now and I said Kamui.....10 times...11 if you count the last one o.o

Wow...this certainly wasn't a happy scene. I didn't expect that, but then again, I don't really know much about the series.

Mixing
I have to say, the mixing for this clip was very well done. Great use of sound effects and I can hear the characters speaking without having to strain over the music =) Wonderful job, JellybeanQueen2. It's very pro!

Kotori - JellybeanQueen2
Your voice was a bit lower than I expected for Kotori. But that could be because I have only heard the Japanese version and her voice in the original were very high (in the movie). Your acting is superb. Like Amree said, your screams were excellently done.

Kamui - Lionfayt
Oh, Fayt-kun, your performance was superb. Somehow you give Kamui such a vulnerability and gentleness I actually liked the character. Maybe you could have sounded more distraught with Kotori, but you still did great!

Fuma - Dymatrex
Dymatrex. How do you do it! I love your Fuma. You had the perfect voice and your emotions were great. Like Fayt-kun, you did great!
Kakyou - Lionfayt
Ahh! Very mysterious and smooth. I would like to hear a bit more stern undertone to your voice for Kamui. But still, I can't help but see how wonderfully you've portrayed both characters. ^^

JBQ/Kotori - You did a great job with the freakout!!! I thought at first you may have been too deep for her,but the more hysteracal she got the greter it seemed.I loved it! You did an excellent job,I'd like to see you in this role more

Fayt/Kamui & Kakyou - In both parts you were good. But I think you excelled in Kamui. He's still a youth, almost bordering on adulthood.so being around the same age helps.I Liked the smoothness in your voice, and you actually rolled your R's it sounded like o.o when pronouncing Kotori's name.Very good pronunciation.MORE KAMUI!!

Dymatrex/Fuma - Very convincing.you and JBQ complement eachother nicely.Quite the brother sister duo of sorts lol.I can't really say much considering we heard more from the other two ...v.v But I did feel the sympathy when you Fuma was telling Kotori Their mother was dead.Very nice.

The mixing was good.I liked the choice in music,it really set the mood. And OMG that ending theme was Awesome!

Seriously,More X! I think this gets such little love.

This was well done. Everybody gaves solid performances. I'm not one for double casting, but lionfayt, you pulled off both roles well. ^^ One of my favorite parts was the music at the beginning.... extremely creepy. O_O More please. <3 ~ Crystal

Thanks for all the comments and critiques guys! I'm really hoping to do more X clips in the future. There are some Sorata and Arashi scenes I'm dying to do.

And I'm glad the music I chose works. The music that was in the original clip isn't on any OSTs, so I pretty much went through my soundtrack collection thinking "what's the creepiest piece I have?" (the Doctor Who episode it came from was creepy...like, sleep-with-the-light-on creepy).

Is there a way I could download this or view it on an alternate site somewhere? I saw your other X fandub and thought it was brilliant so when I saw this I was like: "There's MORE?!" and flipped but it's been removed from youtube by the copyright nazis aka google...sorry I just got really excited to see this and judging from the comments I feel like it's well worth watching. :D

if there's no way I could see it, that's fine, I'm sure everyone did a fantastic job! Thanks for putting the little clip together anyway. X is amazing- kudos to CLAMP for coming up with such an awesome series lol.

...And even tho you're probably never gonna see this because you're off being awesome in Japan, I totally agree with you Amree. ~Kyaa Kamui!!

and yeah, I do realize that this thread was put up about 2 years ago lol

Sadly, I'm not even sure what happened to the original files for this (I've switched computers, like, three times since this dub), so unless someone else saved a copy of it, I think it's gone. But I'm glad you liked the other one.^^'' I'd like to do some more stuff with X someday since, like you said, it is amazing.

Edit: I found a copy and reuploaded it, so I'll update the first post.

Ok so I sort of forgot about this little clip since I haven't been on the VAA much in the last couple months, but I happened to stop by again and I'm sure glad I did because you fixed the link! Thank you- it was well worth the wait!

Kotori: I loved the screams here, very gripping and believable- they complemented the expression of utter shock/madness on her face just beautifully! I feel like your emotion was in the right place for sure, but it came off sounding a bit forced to me. Not a bad thing though I guess, better overdone than not enough. Meh, I'm just being picky though.

Kamui/Kakyou: Well Fayt, I was definitely right when I asked if you wanted to double up on Syaoran and Kamui because holy hell your performance here was perfect despite the length of the clip being so short. Too bad we couldn't work something out on the TRC project, but as far as this one's concerned, excellent job. I agree with Sayaka on the distraught bit, but hey, better safe than sorry right? Kakyou's tone was nice but as you already mentioned, it was oozing with cheese. Partly attributed to the script I suppose but in comparison to your overall delivery as Kamui, Kakyou was not quite as satisfying. Certainly not a bad job though.

Fuuma: Not too many lines here, but well executed nonetheless. Great emotion, a bit of peaking on the louder parts but it didn't take away from your overall performance so no complaints here. I will say that he sounded a bit on the young side to me but technically he should since he's in high school. It's just a tad confusing when he looks so unrealistically muscular and tall...yeah. I'd say drop the pitch a few steps in the future but that's mostly personal preference.

Mixing/BGM & SFX: The audio levels were well balanced throughout for the most part, no problems hearing the VAs whatsoever- it sort of was flip flopped actually with the lines being a bit too loud at some points drowning out the bgm momentarily. Slightly distracting but not too much of an issue otherwise. Nice music selections though, very fitting and suspenseful (not sure if you were using the track from the original clip but either way, great choice!)

Overall, lovely work guys! JBQ, you seem to crank out some really nice X dubs so if you plan making another sometime, let me know, I'd love to see the finished product!
