Any cosplayers out there? More importantly, any cosplayers in the Nebraska/Iowa area? See, I'm going to Anime Nebraskon, and I want to go with a group. Currently, my group consists of me and my sister. I'm going to be Chii, she's going to be Princess Ai. I think it would be awesome(!) if we had some buddies to go with us!! ^^

I dunno, but whenever I go to cons there's always a lot of L's, Naruto's, and Bleach cosplayers... As well as Haruhi cosplayers... It really get's old when you see the same person costume everywhere =(

I've been cosplaying since 2004, and it's always fun to do so. I've got about...20 costumes under my belt, I believe. I can't really sew so I usually have friends give me a hand with a new outfit every now and then.

Yeah...that's all that can come to mind. I usually do Cosplay as a means of keeping in touch with my acting side, as I tend to get into character with whatever outfit I wear.

Derp, I haven't been cosplaying THAT long, just like two years now. I've made several costumes. 3 I'm happy with 6 still have a lot of things I don't like with them so I don't call them finished. >:3

The three I proclaim as DONE have pictures up on my website (Eva, Yoko and Chii). I go to UK cons mostly (Amecon, Minamicon & the London Expo's), though I hope to go to the US next year to go to AX.

The Yuna..>.>; The top opening was a little too too "Big!" and I need to make it better. So the top is being made for Chibi-pa this year ^^; I'll be entering this in the costume contest. Since its made! ^_^; I'm kinda proud of it. For Megacon this year though I'm wondering..which cosplay should I do? Should I go as a Jrocker, Old School Sailor Senshi or a FF chara? I'm completely confusied. I kinda wanna do an FF chara (either Shelke or Rinoa) or a Jrocker (Anyone would do, just not too hard XD) Or my favorite Sailor Senshi, Sailor Saturn. I also kinda wanna do Agito/Akito from Air Gear >.< argghhhh it gives me such a headache.

have you tried looking at fabric stores? you can get some really funky fabrics.

Last time I went there I did get some faux black leather and used a good portion of it to build my ex girlfriend a strap for one of her cosplay outfits...don't think it held up in the long run.

Maybe on my next pay period when I got a weekend I'll check out what I can find.

Anyone got a comission recommendation? Anyone they've delt with who've done a great job on their cosplay outifts when they themselves were unable to do it?

Cosplaying is fun, I really like cosplaying it does make you feel happy and feel like the character can come alive. Cosplaying is a time of relaxation and finding new friends, I really like cosplaying

but my last cosplay from a con is Yuki Nagato from The Melecoly of Haruhi Suzumiya =D.

Hooray for cosplay! ;) New Mexico is pretty much no-man land for anime media, but I was really surprised when we got two brand new conventions in Albuquerque just in this year.

My first costume was ANBU Itachi Uchiha from Naruto. It was pretty bad, in retrospect, but I had a blast. I'm planning a Crisis Core Aerith cosplay at the moment for SWACE, in July, and then I think I might go for a Sora outfit afterwards. (What can I say - I'm such a SE dork!)

You'll be surprised who you can pull off. Most cosplayers don't normally look like the characters in the first place. Like me. That's what wigs are for, and honestly, that's the fun of it - you can be someone you're nothing like, and sometimes even succeed! Take my icon for example - I look nothing like that in everyday life. Just give it a shot!

Ooh~ cosplay thread. I like this area~ ^^ I do lots of it, too much of it to the point it's what's always putting a hole in my wallet (as opposed to buying anime merchandise). Although jpop/kpop stuff is getting up there on the list too with each expensive purchase. :P

I'm going to try and get my Sailor Jupiter costume finished for Anime Nebraskon. If anyone else is going, let me know!! Also, if you have any suggestions, I'm trying to decide between a wig or my real hair, because my natural hair is brown, but I have blond-ish highlights. I could probably cover them up somehow for the ponytail. I also have bangs, but they're side-swept and a bit long, and don't really look like Jupiter's...So, wig or natural hair?

Yep. I used a shoulder length wig for the base/bangs and then a long clip in extension for the braid. And I knooow, so many Aerith's just, like, don't do the hair. I mean I can understand why, since this wig was kind of a pain to put together and it's really heavy to wear, but it'll be worth it.

So...this is my first real cosplay. I have a Rukia out fit, but my hair doesn't look like Rukia at all. But people say that I look exactly like Yuffie from FFVII. So...I gave it a shot.

What I love about it is that it'd look (a little) natural even if I wore it randomly out in public. I'd love to see if anyone shouts, "Yuffie!" at me while I'm walking around in the mall or something XD

The shoes I got for it was awesome though. I couldn't get the right color, so in the end I got black.
