Sorry but Mai (my 8 yr old) keeps me extremely busy! And on behalf of all the other single mothers out there who get no respect for taking on the roles of both parents (especially if your ex husband is a dead beat like mine...or ex bf)...you rock! Unless you are in the situation we are in than people fail to understand how much we have to sacrifice in life! We are seriously underated! Love to all who share my battle!

*hugs*

Now what started this thread? I am so annoyed with how "younger mothers" in particular are treated! I went to Mai's school today and saw that they had a PTA meeting last month! I am a member of the PTA but was not called! When I asked the Principle why that was he said "Oh well it is for the more mature mothers! They dicuss issues that affect our school and that is why certain people were left out!" WTH? Because I don't look 27 I am not allowed to make decisions regarding my child's future! I am sooooooooooooooo freaking annoyed..I wanted to strangle him right there! Grrrrrrrrrr

Ok End rant!

Sorry, Maria, but my favorite single mother is my friends' mom, Satia.

And then, after her, is my other friend's sister, Mai.

And then probably you. : D

My brother's friend had a baby before she got married to some guy she liked and he downright left her.

I really hate how some guys treat women. Whether its leaving them to take care of a kid by themselves, abusing them, or just plain treating them like utter shit.

This is coming from a guy, by the way.

Principle Stone (who may be stoned..haha) is a male!

Matt- You get props for having a friend named Mai! Such a beautiful name ^^ But at least I made your list..hehe

Rikka- I know. I read your LJ and have great respect for your mother!

still_standing2004- I met my ex-husband when I was 15 in highschool. He was straight from Saigon. We dated for 5 years and then got married. I had Mai the following year. That was when he decided it was too much resposibility and so I divorced him. He has seen Mai 4 times sicne she was born! And he only live 20 minutes away! Sad!

"That was when he decided it was too much resposibility"

God that is so wrong. Like there is even a choice... You bring a child into this world, it is your duty as a father to help take care of it. End of story.

I can't even manage my own life, let alone mine and a child's. Obviously you are a strong, determined woman. I bet that is why your principle does not want you at those PTA meetings. You'd give him hell and make him look stupid ;)

I mean I have run the book fair, reading club, school picnic and Mayfest every year since Mai started that school 4 years ago! I deserve some respect from these people! *sigh*

Rikka- *HUGGLES* Love my pompom girl...hehe

Maria is definetly my no.1 fave single Mom!!! And that damn Stone (stonned..yes! xD) idiot should be forced to take a week off of his job, locked in a house with 5 young kids and forced to play the role of a single mom for a whole week xD despite the fact that he's a guy ;P

I have full respect for single mom's since when i was younger (8-10) my mom was single with me and 2 babies, well one was 1 1/2, the other was 4 months old and i helped her to take care of them and even though i was young myself, i took half of the responcability she did because she had a nervous breakdown and NEEDED help ._. but yea. Men in general tend to be utter selfish pigs when it comes to having children (from my experience at least xD)
But anyway, i have a vague idea of what you're going through, Maria! And i hope it either gets easier really soon, or you find a supportive boyfriend!

Sorry, but when my mom was single, she was #1. I also have a co-worker who takes are of two kids (both girls, ages 3 and 1 I believe). She works hard since one of her boyfriends was a scammer under the name of (this is funny): Bill Gates. No, I'm not kidding. Her other boyfriend is a bit of a loser too. But at least he takes some responsibity.

There's a daughter of a co-worker of mine who's gonna be a single mom in 2 months and a week from this post (expected date: dec 21) which oddly enough is her mom's bday. Funny, ain't it? Unfortunately, the father is a total deadbeat who has 3 OTHER kids with 3 OTHER moms!!! Considering what she'd get for child support, she's not even listing him as a father. Yay for her!

(And she's turning 18 this month too...gotta be hard to be a teen mom...)

And yes, yay for you. Kick that principal's ass next chance you get.

Good for you!!
Some male teachers, whatever role of teaching in school can be real asses! For a long period of time in highschool i was being really badly bullied and i tried telling the teachers, even though i was scared to death lol. So guess what he did? He told the bullies that i told him what was going on and i got beaten up half to death ¬_¬ i was in hospital for nearly 2 weeks. Then the other time was when my Dad passed away and his funeral was the day before my final exams so i ended up failing because i couldn't concerntrate. My science teacher (even though he knew all about it) yelled at me in front of the class and said "Look at Holly's (my best friend) grade! She got a B in everything!! And you got an F! an F!?!! Are you really that dumb--" blah blah. I couldn't really say anything cus i was so depressed even though everyone was laughing. Then my mom called him and screamed her throat inside-out at him and he said "Oh right. I guess i went a bit over the top. But its her fault! She should've worked harder--" blah blah xD yes, not even an appology lol. But yea, male teachers can be real asses. I don't know if i'm just being biased because of my experiences or not, but i can sorta understand how you feel ><
