Weee! Here are the outcomes of our first round! But first, some scores from our judges!
From Neffy=
Kt Rocks - "NingyoHime": You sounded a bit quiet at the beginning, and
I had to turn the volume on my computer way up. But near the middle
your voice got stronger and I could hear you much better. I think you have
a very pretty voice, and it was nice to listen to. I don't think there
were many pitch problems, though the ending sounded like it may have
been a bit off. The only suggestions I have would be to make sure you
support notes with your diaghram and avoid singing from your throat,
because that would probably make your voice sound stronger. But overall, you
have a melodic and soothing voice, and I enjoyed listening to you. ^_^
6/10
MissCar - "NingyoHime": You have a nice voice that is suited to this
song, I think, but, like Kt Rocks, I think at some parts you were a
little too quiet. If you weren't trying to sing quietly, then maybe you
were singing too much from your throat, because that's what it sounded
like to me, and it seemed to prevent you from putting a lot of emotion
into the song. However, at some points in the chorus, your voice kind of
took on the qualities of a pop singer (don't really know how else to
describe it, lol... these parts seemed more powerful), which I really
liked. I would suggest working on giving your voice more power and emotion
while singing, and also be careful on your high notes (a few sounded
too high). Other than that, you did a great job. ^_^ 6.5/10
Alessa - "Hitorijime": Wow, very cute! ^_^ I enjoyed your rendition of
this song very much. I think you had pretty good energy and emotion,
and you seemed to be in key all the time with no pitch problems (that I
noticed, anyway ~_^). However, it seemed kind of quiet to me: I don't
know if it was the way you mixed the singing with the music or the actual
volume of the music, but I would have liked the volume of your singing
to be louder (but then again, that's just me, and I get distracted by
the music easily). Your voice seemed very well-controlled, except on
some of the high notes (like "IchiBAN" at 1:46) where it sounded like you
had to sing louder to reach the notes, and they stood out from the rest
of the song. But overall this was really nice! 8/10
Hara - "Honey": You have a really pretty voice! And you did such a
great job at putting energy and feeling into your voice, while still
managing to have good control over it. I felt like I was listening to a
professional singer! ^_~ I didn't really notice any flaws with this... not
to say that it's perfect, because I'm sure everyone probably has ways
they can improve, but nothing stood out as being negative. Great job!
9.5/10
Topleka - "Wish": Kawaii! This was really cute. ^_^ I think my favorite
parts were when you sang "I wish, my wish", because they sounded
super-cute. However, sometimes when you had to hold a note for an extended
period of time, you started to waver a bit. Also, sometimes you seemed to
sing too loudly for your microphone. But this was a good effort and it
was fun to listen to. ^_^ 6.8/10
Nevelinde - "Purachina": Wow, this was another very
professional-sounding voice. I thought the lower-pitched parts of the song (not the
chorus) sounded the best, because your voice was very controlled and sounded
really strong and clear. The chorus was good too, don't get me wrong, I
just prefer you singing lower I guess. So I guess all I can say is just
to keep up the good work! ^_^ 9/10
Cassie - "Mokonaondodepuponopu" (or something) Um... this is an odd
song, lol. ^^; I think for the most part your singing was very good, but
there were some parts when it sounded like the higher notes were a bit
strained when you sang a higher note. But you had pretty good energy,
especially at the end. And this song seems kind of difficult to sing (for
example, singing all those "pupupu's" without sounding annoying) so
kudos for singing it! ^_^ 7/10
From Ishtar=
Hara: 9.5/10 - I absolutely loved this! The tone was wonderful. If it weren't for the music being a little louder than I'd have expected it to, I would have thought it to be the original. I am not entirely familiar with the song, but it all flowed beautifully. Great job!
Alessa: 9/10 - Here is another one that I loved. The timing was great, and your voice is very pretty. Again, I am not familiar with the song itself, but it sounded so natural. The voice wasn't quite as clear as the music though. Otherwise I'd have been sure it was the original. Yay!
Nevelinde: 8/10 - This one seemed to get off to a rough start, but very soon after it really turns beautiful. Your voice is perfect for this song, and your timing is great. Once past a minute into the song, I forget that I am listening to a fan-done song... and I'd say that is a wonderful achievment.
MissCar: 7/10 - You have a nice voice but its a little on the rough side. There were quite a few times when the timing wasn't right, and your voice sort of leveled out and sounded forced. There were also a number of times that you hit the notes too hard and it sounded a little harsh (usually at the starts of lines or after taking a breath), but you quickly fixed it which was good.
Topleka: 7.5/10 - Nice, but could use some work it seems. I can't really say that things were wrong, but something just seemed off. It very well may have been how high your voice was (which topped out a few times) which hampered the quality of what I heard. A few times (especially when there was accompaniment in the song) it seemed a little off on timing. Otherwise, it was rather cute.
Cassie: 6/10 - It starts out really good, but has parts that just sound rather rough. I don't know the song, but it seemed your voice was a little forced be high, which affects the delivery in some parts. There was plenty of energy though, which kept me listening. I did, though, have some trouble knowing if you were going off timing with some parts since you'd be in one range of speed and the song seemed to be elsewhere.
Kt-Rocks: 4/10 - I would think music would have helped cover up the flaws here, but since this is one song I know... it was easier for me to pick out the problems. Some things seemed off pitch. I also got the feeling that you were holding back. The song isn't really a balls-out sort of song, but I didn't feel the emotion here.... and other times it sounded like you were about to fall asleep during the song. I think its got great potential, but does need some work. The parts where you have to hold the notes were really good. You seem to have good control where that is concerned. ^_^
