VAA Xmas London meet? "koe-con"

I've been bouncin' the idea of another VAAuk meet, I was thinking next year but Danyata suggested an xmas meet. Which would would be great for xmas shopping, ( or we could go eat somewhere).


Of course what we do and where we goes depends who can come and your ages...

So anyone interested in a VAA meet in London around xmas?

I'd be up for a meet, but it'd have to be after the 5th December. The GA are hosting a weekend-long Xmas bash between the 3rd and 5th and inviting the Manchester Anime group (we invite a different society every year). ^^

Hey, I'm a poor student and I'm in Glasgow!! I'm pretty sure Megabus will do it really cheap. The bus timetables aren't up just yet for December, and it looks if I book early, I can get a £5 return trip!

Ummmmmm, that bus doesn't leave from anywhere near me. At uni I like in Preston, an hour from Manchester, duing holidays though I'm in Cumbria....er...At least two hours from anywhere.

Mongose :P you're impossible. Londons probably the best place for the majority since I imagine the most people will be able to get there, and leading up xmas I imagine it'll mean people can shop too.

I think the reason I said London was:

- Me and Azure and Tima live there.
- It's probably the best place for shopping.
- It has the only ParaPara machine in the UK.
- It's quite easy to get there.

And it's not that expensive O_O

Well, last time I planned a trip to London and didn't know about Megabus I paid £30 for a return ticket. *shrug* That was pretty evil. But now I know better, and it will be cheap for meeee! 12 hours on a bus... sounds like fun, doesn't it?

But yeah, Mongoose, if you shop around a bit you'd be able to get cheap fares to London, I'm sure. Even if Megabus don't go there, you could always get a cheap ticket to a nearby city that does. Hey, I'll even help out if you want?

£30 to get from Scotland to London? 0_0. I can barely get from Bristol to London by train for that price. That is sooo cheap.

That was the bus! But I can get from Glasgow to London for £5 on the bus now. ^^

EDIT: If you go by bus with Megabus, it costs £2.50 to go to London from Bristol.

I know there's gonna be shopping but it'll cost me probably in the realm of fifty-sixty pounds just to get there and back! Add accomodation because it's a FIVE or SIX HOUR trip, then tube fairs to get to where we're meeting and let's see...That'll probably have me shelling out approx £100 for this meeting even before I think of shopping!
You're calling me impossible because I don't wanna travel for 12 hours and shell out a hundred quid (that's not including food) just to shop and chat!? Aren't there places we could meet that are more central?

Mongoose -- Megabus. :) Sister's travelled by megabus before. It's faster, 'cause they don't have so many stops, and it's less expensive than train or tube fairs. ^^

Out of curiousity, when are we doing this? I suggest the first weekend in December. ^^ I can get there for £6.50 on the bus, and I'd be able to get there at 6am on Saturday the 4th.

Yes. I want to do this. I DO work on a Saturday, but it's only 9am - 2pm so it's not that bad. Would it happen over the weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun/Sat-Sun) or just one day?

At the moment, I can definately put one person up at home if it's a weekend thing. I MAY be able to put up two people (or three, it depends if two people want to sleep together XD) but that depends on my mother, since my house is quite small - plus London is only a tube ride away.

So yeah. Lets decide on some dates :D

Ah. That's literally the weekend I finish university for christmas, Saturday the 18th I'll be packing my stuff and going home, so for me it's not really the middle of holidays and it's pretty inconvenient as I can't pack and go home and go to all the way to London at the same time. I can't leave any earlier because I have a Japanese lecture the day before and deadlines going right up to the mark.

Neat, well I'm probably going to the festival on the 17th with some friends, so it works out! ( I don't think it's an event that will warrant more than one visit, but if you guys want to check it out sat we can)

Very weird meeting people you've only spoken to online before, but it didn't take long before I felt like I'd known you all for ages!
IMAF wasn't as stunning as I'd hoped, but it was only a small dealie, and some of the work there was pretty impressive.

Everyone was real friendly, and it was interesting to hear what you guys were up to. Hopefully we'll get to organise something for the next Ayacon, if not before. It'd be fun to meet some more AVAs as well =D

Hey guys... I enjoyed London immensely, especially hanging out with you guys. Just home now, since my bus caught fire at 6am this morning and we were somewhere in the middle of Cumbria. Woke up and the bus was full of smoke, and we were stranded at some service station in the middle of nowhere. It was exciting if a bit scary. Weeee! Off to bed for me, methinks!
