First demo reel... EVER. Also, first thread made on here! x3
I don't think I did a very good job on making this. Nothing special done to it at all, so... yeah... ^^;

http://www.sheezyart.com/view/1709013/

Characters used in order of appearance:

Kyou (Clannad)
Tomoyo (Clannad)
Mikuru (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
Fuuko (Clannad)
Kagami (Lucky Star)
Kotomi (Clannad)
"Deep-voiced" Rika (Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai)
Rip Van Winkle (Hellsing)
Satako (Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni/Kai)
Takano (Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni/Kai)

I'd love some critique on this! Do tell me, what do I need to work on the most? I'd love to get some help so I can improve! ^^

There's a few technical issues, but I will say one thing: I like your voice. You have a distinct sound that could work behind a character. Here's the general run down on what casting directors are looking for in an animation demo...

1. Keep it to about a minute. Keep each line/character to about 3-5 seconds per voice. This way you can put in a large number of voices to show your range. Don't underestimate the complete lack of attention span that most casting directors have. Keep them interested!

2. Your first voice should be your own. Don't ham it up any. That's the first voice they'll want to hear from you and any character voices should be added after that. Don't line up voices that sound alike. Try to go from cheery, to dark, to monsterous, etc. Mix it up!

3. At some points it sounds like you tried to record it all in one go. If you're not already, stop after each voice before going to the next and edit it together afterwards. Don't try to do too many different ones in quick succession; give yourself time to get into character for each voice.

And keep those mouse clicking noises out. :)

Those points aside, you have a great voice. Keep it up.

I think Kaiji pretty much covered all the bases. But...yeah, just try to use your own voice and act off of that. Work on pronounciation and speaking more fluidly. Loved your Rip Van Winlke by the way. I'll keep an eye on you for future projects.

WOW WOW! Thank you so much!!! I appreciate the critique and everything! Just what I was looking for!!! x3
Again, thanks so much! Next time I do a Voice Demo, I'll keep these things in mind! x3

I really do need to work on those things, don't I? ^^; I usually talk extremely fast, so it's hard for me to slow down. Practice, practice for me! x3
Thank you!! x3

Hi Kat! I finally made an account on here! Im so excited! x3

Anyway time to give you critique! I already did when we listened to it at my house but Ill give you a more in depth one.

I sadly cant give you critique on the chracters from Clannad or Lucky Star because Ive never watched them.

Your Mikuru is incredibly good. Your voice sounded high, confused and cute which is what she sounds like all the time.

I actually didnt like your Dark Rika that much. It wasnt bad but it also wasnt very good. The overall voice you had for her just didnt sound like the original. Maybe your voice just isnt able to capture her?

Your Rip was AMAZING and Im not just saying that because you cosplay her. You completely captured the character and voice. Rip is a very femimine, shy character with a dark, killing side and you can hear that in her voice. Her voice changes with her mood from happy and hyper to deep and dark and you did just that. And your German accent is very good, Im sure even a German person would think you were a German speaking english!

I havent heard much of your Satako in a while but from what I can remember [and from listening to this] is very good and matches the character completely. One of your best voices by far.

I was very happy to hear your Takano! Not many people are able to pull off her voice because its so unique but you did. You were able to add that breath sound she has when she talks which can be difficult for some people. Very good.

HI! x3 Ah, you're newer than I am and you've already posted more than me~ xD;

Thanks! I wish I had more to say for Mikuru, but I totally forgot most of her lines when I was doing it. o.o;

Ah, I don't like my Dark Rika much either. When I spoke it without having it played back, it sounded fine. But, I guess it wasn't. xD; I guess Dark Rika isn't for me, then! ^^;

Haha! xD Thank you!! Rip was the hardest to do, actually, but the one I really wanted to come out just right. I kept forgetting where to put the "v's" and the "z's" and the "ists" and the "unds" Ugh! It took a couple takes. xD; But I'm glad everyone likes my Rip! x3 I just wish my mic wasn't so... engh! >_<;

Thanks! Satako is so much fun to do~! x3

And I'm suprised you liked my Takano! o.o; I thought I did a pretty bad job. o.o; Thank you! x3
