First time for me to write the lyrics as well as the melody myself. I suck at being poetic and creative in general so the lyrics are probably just too basic but well, I am proud of the sheer fact that I have at least written stuff that makes sense and fits the melody. X"D
Amazing instrumental track made by Mike! http://soundclick.com/MikeXC (http://soundclick.com/MikeXC) And the improvisation in the middle too!
It was unfortunately recorded in a bit of a rush so I am sorry about the pitchyness here and there but I did try my best when I sang it T_T!

Wow, much different from your Ashita no Inori, but I thought this was really well composed. :)... I like the rock-feel, and it really seems to fit your voice (which makes sense since you wrote/composed it ;P...)
I really like the melody! It's pretty catchy :D
And your lyrics weren't bad at all :)
To be honest, I don't really like English songs these days because they're so literal and like... I don't know. You can't really imagine anything, so I like the symbolism in your song. :)...
And the... WOW. XDDD Was great.
... Sorry I can't really say more.
To summarize, I REALLY LIKED THIS. 8D
<3 KEEP WRIIITTING.
Awesome job to Mike for making such a cool instrumental! >D...
D: Where'd he get such skill!?
Both of you were AWESOME. >D
Whoa you guys are so quick at replying ;_;
Thanks for the awesome feedback so far~
And to xXxSkyyexXx, please look at Mochan's reply :) She's got it!
Will reply to your comments soon <3

I have to say, this is SUCH a unique song. I'm really impressed simply by it's uniqueness.
Doris, you shouldn't be afraid to show the world those lyrics of yours, they're your words! Nice, simple, straight to the point. Your message to everyone, plain and clear. I think they're fine and work nicely with the song! At first, I thought the melody was a bit awkward- until I really got the hang of it. I really, really like how it's constant all the way through, and gradually I got used to it. It's so different! The instrumental sounds great as well, I'm so amazed.
This was an awesome collab! Thanks so much for sharing~ WHOOO!

Wow, that's really impressive. I liked the lyrics, and especially loved the harmonies. I'm a sucker for great vocal harmony *G*
WOW! Your FIRST original rock song EVER! =D This was just too awesome~
And don't put yourself down like that, ICD! ;__; I really like your lyrics! You don't need to be exceptionally poetic or creative to express yourself through words! I actually really like the style you wrote it in! So please continue to write lyrics!
Again, I'm completely blown away by mike's instrumentals *0*
Nice work, you two! I'll be looking forward to more of your collabs! =D
(I read the description of the vid on YT, and I just want to say that you're such a wonderful and caring person to have written this song for that reason~)

Do you have that in a mp3 link? Seriously that good:D
Mochan:: Thank you so much T_T I remember you from Suki's production! I'm so grateful that you enjoyed it :D.
CKMel:: Yes.. I deliberately did this in a genre different from Ashita no Inori. Plus, composing a rock song has always been my dream <3. I don't like English songs either, especially the content of the lyrics now.. it's just... man. And I'm not very into rap either. :< I'm so happy that you like this though ;_; I appreciate your support very much! You are sheer awesomenesss as well <3.
Yukie:: Thank you for your comment, Vinci! I always look forward to reading your comments a lot ;_; I agree too. This is not so much of a generic song and the tune could take some time to get used to. It's a bit repetitive though, which is inevitable because the instrumental track was made before the melody, meaning I had to compose a melody that suited the harmonic progressions (that made it limiting). Thank you for liking it's uniqueness :"D You are such an amazing critiquer (and friend, of course!) <3.
Prissi:: Harmonies are love <3. I can't really do a song without any harmonies unless.... well unless it sounds amazingly amazing already without. I'm so happy that you liked the lyrics too T_T. Thank you for taking the time to listen and comment! Very much appreciated!
Ciel:: YAY! Writing rock songs = DREAM COME TRUE! <3 You liked the lyrics? Really? ;_; You wouldn't know how much that means to me <33. And yes - Mike's instrumental is just as amazing as ever!! And that was just one of the reasons I had written it... it just sort of came to me one night though so... :) Thank you for dropping by as usual, Ciel... You are such an awesome person T_T
andy ichigo:: Thank you :D. I have always hated singing in English because of my accent though ><... I'm really glad that you liked it though... It makes me so so happy <333.
BigTUnit1:: I have uploaded the download link especially! The fact that you'd even contemplate downloading this is just beyond amazing for me T_T. Thank you so much for listening to this random song and liking it - I really am so, so happy :"D Thanks!

Augh. I hate to be the one to bring negative comments. >_<"
As a song in general, I think the music should be a bit louder (instead of being in the background). And write more lyrics! I feel like it could've gone on a bit longer; it's like scratching at a scab. You dug deep and almost scratched all of it off but there's still a little part left until you're just left with an open wound (sorry for the gory metaphor xD).
But you sang very well and the lyrics are great. =D

The song is great. It was much better than I was expecting it to be.
A bit of critique
Within the instrumental I think that the bass is too loud. It really stands out a bit too much in my opinion. It would be really nice if the guitar was brought up in volume (the lower parts, the power chords).
For the lyrics to sound a bit more poetic you could take things like
"give me a knife and I will stab my soul and I will never be afraid of pain"
you could change it to present tense like
"cut into the knife again, it stabs my soul; freeing my mind never afraid again."
(the line dosn't use the word 'and', which I like to avoid)
The only other line that I found to be a bit too direct maybe was:
"Every day is just another day, so what am I supposed to do today?"
which could be changed to something like?
"Every day is just another day, never to move, not from word I pray"
I don't really know. Everything else in the lyrics is just awesome, like I said it was like ten-gazzillion times better than I thought it would be...
This one will go good on the playlist, it really is THAT good. xD

You know, if it says anything... I had the chorus stuck in my head. And it wasn't stuck in my head the way that some annoying songs get stuck in your head sometimes. I just kept singing it over and over in my head. You're so awesome--your melody lines and lyrics really suited the awesome instrumental track. And I really love how you sing "The candle in my heart" line.
Great job!

Very nice, although I can tell the singing was rushed. It's OK though, it's cool!
Thanks for the amazing feedback, guys! :D
Nitque:: Thank you so much T_T It means a lot to me that you like this! And, man, you like the lyrics too? TOT Thank you so so much! <3333 I was really worried about the lyrics at first.... It seems that people do like them though ;_; (Even though they really aren't poetic enough >_>)
Monotori:: Don't worry about giving criticisms! I welcome criticisms with opened arms, as long as they are constructive ones like yours ;D! I'm sorry that the instrumental track wasn't loud enough v_v. I truly still suck at mixing, especially when my microphone gives out this 'tincan' sound... It really doesn't help. As for the song... the instrumental track was made before the melody was written so it was inevitable that the song was short. I had to end the melody when the instrumental track had ended! Also, this really was supposed to be a 'demo' track at first when Mike sent it to me - neither of us had expected it to be the final version. I thought that it was decent enough though so I didn't ask Mike to re-do it. Had he re-done it, it would've been longer and more 'complete'. This was more of a on-the-whizz production with little planning so I'm sorry about that! It really couldn't be helped though~ Thank you for picking on such good points and for listening :D.
James The Composer:: Thank you for your compliments! I feel honored that you enjoyed listening to it, since you are an accomplished musician yourself! Thank you for the tips on the lyrics but as I have said.. English isn't my first language so I can't help being not-so-poetic v_v. I like the way that you have changed the lyrics but some of them would end up not fitting the melody as well as they could. I will bear what you have said in mind though! Thank you for your valuable suggestions. ^_^
Nayami:: Man.. it was stuck in your head? *dies* That completely made my day! *0* And you are not the first one who particularly likes the 'candle' line. That really makes me sooo happy <3. Thank you for taking the time to check this out and comment! I appreciate it very much!!
akiko_sakuraba:: Yes, I'm sorry that my singing was a bit rough in this ;_;. I hope you still enjoyed it! Thank you for listening and commenting. :)

Actually, the lyrics really hit me! The only thing that I would suggest is the melody on "in my heart" in the chorus should be lower notes (then again high notes always make me cringe being a lady tenor/low alto) like I imagine stepping down the scale on those words instead of jumping up would sound good too (sorry if it's hard to explain in words XD) But this song definently has power to it!
