I agree with Andy in that your voice is really cute, but also very pitchy. A strained voice can also still be on pitch, but maybe crack here and there. I don't think the temporary damage has anything to do with your pitch.

Maybe you should listen to the song more to get a feel of it? I find that when you really REALLY know a song, it's much better for your ear to send that signal to your vocal chords, and you'll be hitting the correct notes in no time ;]
