What Are your Views on Politics?
I just wanted to know how many people are interested in politics and agree or disagree with what they talk about or do or even say for that matter.

I hate politics. All Politicians bring to the world is hatred and distruction.
Plus it's all about them and what they think. They don't take the citizen's point of views.. they rarely do. >.>
Who wants war other than politicians? They are the ones the make decisions to invade countries, not us.
I think Politics sucks.. well.. at the state it is now that is..

I believe the late Nipsey Russell said it best on an episode of Password Plus:
The opposite of pro is con
That fact is clearly seen
If progress means move forward
Then what does Congress mean?
... And elsewhere:
George Washington threw a silver dollar
Across the river one day;
And ever since then, politicians in Washington
Been throwin' our money away!
So, yeah. I have little interest in politics, particularly the government; it seems like they're always wasting taxpayer money complaining about stuff but rarely getting useful stuff done. I just don't want the country to go down the toilet. I do have strong views on a few key issues, but other than that, I couldn't really care less.
It does make good joke material sometimes, though, especially when scandals happen.

Wuv wif a Capital WUH! <3
It's a joke of a situation that ten millenia have gone by and this is the best way for us to order our general lives.
This is the part of the post where all the board's resident fascists, nepotists, and plutocrats start seething at me, so I'll kindly bow out.

I think...
There wouldn't be any need for politics if people weren't so uncivilized. That's the reason why we have a government in the first place.

Being a left-winger of extreme proportions, I believe that communism goes too far and socialism doesn't go far enough.

I disagree. I think we're uncivilized BECAUSE of government. I dream of the day we won't have leaders. I believe everyone has self-discipline and are capable of making sound decisions on their own.
I also believe we should all revert back to an agrarian and barter economy. No more corporations, no more currency, no more of one person having any more than another. If every single country made ninety percent of their land nothing but farm land, world hunger would end, poverty would be non-existent, and we'd be all better for it.
Remember, ladies and gentlemen, money is nothing more than an incentive. We have to motivate ourselves to do this.

I certainly disagree Steven.
I believe that people are naturally shit (especially poor people), and without the powerful, controlling hand of Government, it only allows chaos and poor people to run rampant.
If a country dismantled into an agrarian society, I would take it upon myself as a duty to subjugate as many rubes as possible, and kill the rest. Society has only gotten better with each passing year. With advancements in technology, hopefully, someday, we'll become so automated, it'll strip away our very Humanity.

Really, now that's just rude.
Poor people have nothing to do with this. It's us, the higher up people who actually split the world into poor and rich.
If the government and policians could give the world some equality then the poor people won't be "shit".
America is currently declaring wars against other counties for oil/fuel while it already got tons already. I don't call that justice.
Thousands of celebrities get paid millions of dolars just to appear and act or sing in a movie or some show while people and children are there suffering and dieing of thirst and hunger.
That's not equality.
If the government could actually take a couple of millions from each celebrity, that would be enough to make poverty vanish.
But no. They are too greedy.
I could tell you in 20 years time, America will become "shit" and China will rule on top. Maybe then we'll have some equality. You never know.
[No offence to Americans ofcourse].

When China is on top, It won't be Communist, and it won't be the fairyland utopia you're thinking of.
China has a shit load of dirt-poor starving people. But, as of 1997, with the introduction of Capitalism via Hong Kong, China is rapidly ascending the Capitalistic ladder of success!
Why don't you cry some more about rich people have more money than you? I'm sure all your BAWWWWWWWWWWWWing is going to help a lot.

The scariest thing in politics is apathy. I believe it's essential for everyone who can to take responsibility for the society they live in by educating themselves about and involving themselves in politics, even if it's just voting once every few years - or showing disapproval by spoiling their vote.
Politicians aren't some other species, they're normal people like you or me who want to be in power for some reason. Some might go into it to try to make a difference for the better, some might go in because they're greedy or self-important or whatever. But, good or bad, they influence the smallest things in everyday life from what you're allowed to do in your daily life & how much it costs to the grand-scale things like world poverty, pollution and hunger.
If you're not interested in politics, then you're not taking responsibility for the society around you. If you don't vote, then you're allowing other people to do it on your behalf - and leaving the most vital decisions to them. It's not an option not to have politicians, not to have politics. It happens whatever you call it - people jump in to lead groups, by election or by coup. It's the responsibility of the group to keep tabs on them, listen to what they're up to and to make sure they've got leaders whose hearts are in the right place.
The more good people who can get interested in politics to help the world, the better. As Einstein said
"The world is a dangerous place to live in, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it."

Well I personally want to go into poltics when I am older, most likely as a conservitve, Personally I think the whole system currently is corrupt and isn't as efficent as it should be. Unlike many I want to be a politician to help people not to just get power like some
As for our system of politics as a whole right now, I think we are to controlled on a generalised basis eg they might raise the driving age because some people are incapable of driving safely at 18, but that same person may be more irresponsible while driving at 21 than another person driving at 15 (if that was allowed)
lol sorry if that makes no sense

Remember, ladies and gentlemen, money is nothing more than an incentive. We have to motivate ourselves to do this.
If you consider that everyone possesses the same thinking as you, that is. That kind of thinking is flawed. You can't expect everyone to cooperate, they have different views, different thoughts. Government is here not to protect us, but to protect us from ourselves. People want leaders to do the hard work for them, but America doesn't want one leader to make the ultimate decisions, otherwise, we could be as corrupt as Iraq was.
If you let everyone decide for themselves, and create a world free of government, then people would just go their own seperate ways. Some will just create their own governments to rule over people, others can take a jet fighter plane and bomb people. If you didn't have politics and just let everyone run free, then we will just run on our own primal instincts. If there was no government, there would be no law force, because there would be no one to decide the laws, and what is right or wrong. Morally, that is.
I think I'm correct :3 I'm just acting impulsively here.
Back on topic, Politics is just simply boring. But, however, I love arguing. :]]

America is indebt to a lot of money, or so I hear from my friend. If government could actually take a couple of millions from each celebrity, they would use it on themselves, not the people. Everyone should be considered equal, but it simply can't. As long as everyone is selfish, which is a natural human trait, it can't. America can't take money from celebrities, that would be a violation of privacy, taking it from business leaders as well. That's like saying I can take away your computer because someone else doesn't have one. There is no equality because there is money. If you gave everyone an equal amount of money and balance out everytime, there's no such thing as exchange. And everyone wants something in exchange if they're going to give something away.
--
People have different views, different opinions. If we had a world without war, with just peace, then we'd all have to cooperate, kill the ones who don't. That sounds like a perfect world, but the families of the ones killed won't like it. There isn't such thing as a world of peace, not as long as there is individuality. If we had a world without war, without poverty, without love and hate.. We'd simply be not human. Ugh, I watched a movie called Invasion (I concluded to this before it) and it was soo stupid. Too bad the philosophy was right.
Politics never have been so much fun! I need to finish my homework.. ):

Boom. Libertarian is as close as I can get to that without people calling me an anarchist, but when in Rome.
I don't like the party system, although I suppose I'm closest to being a libertarian. If I had my way we would all be well informed independents and the entire voting process would be re-worked especially where the electoral college is concerned.
On a side note...would you really just vote for a person who's name you can't even spell? Sounds like a recipe for a piss poor future to me.

I am a cynic when it comes to politics. I foresee nothing but Jimmy Carter Redux from Obama and I think McCain will die in office and we'll be stuck with his Vice President for the rest of his term.
Be cynical all you like - but the simple fact is, the choice of President is going to matter. A lot. And I'd rather take my chances on a random governor than the second coming of Jimmy Carter, just now...

[...] I think McCain will die in office and we'll be stuck with his Vice President for the rest of his term.
Uh... McCain has released his medical records and there is absolutely nothing wrong with him, and since Death doesn't play favourites when it comes to age, for all we know, Obama could have something wrong with him and he's just not saying anything and is more likely to croak than McCain. It's so funny that the only thing people seem to be able to throw at McCain is that he's old.
Releasing his medical records was a ballsy thing to do, and I, for one, applaud him for it. It's more than we can say for Obama who only cares about "hope" and "change" and never specifically says what we have to hope for and what's going to change.
I really hate to make the comparison, but Hitler promised change too, you know, and these last 7 years have proven -- if anything -- that the government can keep increasing its rights under the guise of "national security" and the population just doesn't care.
