When I first heard this title, the next day I forgot it, and thought it was "Harry Potter and the Prince of Darkness" and then I thought "Wtf?! Harry Potter and Ozzy Osbourne???"

He wasn't necessarily in CoS. JKR said she took out ALL PARTS of the Half-Blood Prince storyline. (And that's the correct spelling, with the hyphen.) So that could mean that the character was taken out as well. I'm betting on a new character, as the titles have all referred to a new element. Kind've like how the DADA professor has always never been previously mentioned.

The release date of the book will come out as soon as she hands the manuscript over to her editors, just like with OotP. After that it'll be another 6-9 months for the editing and publishing process to work.

I would be inclined to agree with you Taryn, except that... I don't think she should really introduce many more new characters, since this book, simply by the number in the sequence *has* to be the begining of the end. If she keeps bringing in new stuff, she's going to get into "Wheel of Time" syndrome where it seems like characters are popping out of the blue. That's just not her Style XD or it doesn't strike me as her style.

Also, there's been one DADA teacher that didn't come out of the blue ~.^ Firenze. And he was the latest and greatest DADA guy. So, I think that may signify that not many new characters are going to be presented?

Another unmentioned theory: Could *Godric Gryffindor* be the half-blooded prince?

Lupin's long-lost brother comes out of no where and and and and kills ummm Lupin (OMG CRY) and then Lupin's brother puts on a darth vader helmet thingy and and and has sex with Lucius, but he had sex with him before so sos sosososossss He got up to Seamus and in a very strong Irish accent he says "SEAMUS I AM TEH FATHER, YO!!111one!!" and Seamus is all like "OMG LIEK WHOS MAH MOTHAJ!!!" and Lupin's brother is all like "LUCIIUSSSSLJDHUGHS"

After reading book 5 (the day it came out..mwahaha) I am not suprised about anything now! She could take a bacgroud character like Seamus and make him into the sole reason Voldemort was reborn (so to speak) to begin with! J K is the queen of writing the unexpected! lol
