Hellloooo.

Yesterday I did something VERY exciting - I somehow managed, having moved around computer equipment and furniture for hours and having constructed a make-shoft mic stand using a sock, some hairclips and a leather shoelace (I kid you not!! XD) to record an acoustic piano/vocal song I'd been waiting to record.

Any comments? ^^; Haven't checked the mixing or levels on any other speaker systems so apologies if too quiet/loud/reverby/something else wrong.

I really want to make a rock version too, but I'm not that good at writing for the generic rock band, so oh well. ONE day. O.o Maybe. Anyway. Also, apologies for any wacky notes on piano. I don't think there are any obvious wrong notes. *Hopes* :)

I've been singing.. um, well, I'm starting lessons next month (YAY!) finally, even though I can't actually afford them *cringe* curse student budget... but I've been attempting to teach myself as I go along up until now. And I am better than I used to be, though still can't wait for lessons. Yessss.

I'm VERY impressed... Mixing was very good, and the piano playing was brilliant and I love the harmony! You are increadibly talented, and if you don't keep writing such pretty songs, I will hunt you down.

There is only one thing I would advise you. Make sure you're supporting your notes properly.

There are so many good things about this song! ^.^ First thing we hear is the piano... well, I think it was well worth the trouble and the makeshift stand, it sounds so soft and expressive, and, well, REAL! And what with this and the BOA arrangement on your site, I'm really loving your piano arranging jobs. The backing vocals and your good old oohs and aahs are as good as usual, just background mostly but a couple particularly nice touches.

Most of all I think, I'm really impressed with your singing (main vocals)... You have indeed got better and better! You're very secure and controlled, and also (even better!) this song had some really strong and expressive bits to it. I can't wait to hear what happens after you take lessons, but I really think your teacher should be impressed with what you can do already.

And I'd read the lyrics already, but... the song has so much more power being sung like this. And the words are very well matched with the music, and... yeah.

Jesta! *glomp* You've used piano in your songs right? (At least I think you have! XD) How did you record it? Just curious because I think your recordings came out better. (Unless they weren't real piano O.o In which case those are some freakish good samples you have..!)

Seriously, the only times I've tried to record real piano it came out horrible with lots of hiss and mysterious crackling - also I usually can't go sixteen bars without messing up ^^ I just use soundfonts and stuff that came with Garageband... (could be that I suppose - maybe all my fiddling with it paid off!)

O.O Wow..This song had to be one of the truly emotional songs I've ever heard.
It's pretty rare for me to feel that certain way for a song. Your preformance was superb, I don't think I heard any imperfection in this piece at all. What I loved is how you created a spirit in this song, as if it was a living being. Very moving piece! Loved every bit of it. You do sound alot like Amy Lee with that amazing angelic, mysterious yet beautiful voice with such emotion to your voice.
