Quite a few people might think that I like doing stuff in my normal voice because I'm not good at doing other voices. The truth is that in reality I do a LOT of silly impressions all the time, even just at home or with friends. Unfortunately I find it much harder to do these impressions when I sit in front of a microphone, guess it's something to do with being relaxed.
I haven't done it on this but I can actually do a really good Gollum, but listening to it creeps me out! It's sort of like 'Is that really my voice doing that!?' Contrare to what I say after doing it, when I first do the Lulu I think it's actually a pretty good one (though I lose it after a short time). Doing a good Lulu is all about keeping the speech rythm and not lapsing out of the accent. I did this clip all in one sitting, it was kind of fun to see if I could switch between voices, and a couple of times my throat protests against it. Oh, and you have no idea how hard it is to say 'exhaust' with an American accent if you're English! It's really hard! It's funny really, I can do a really good American accent any time except when I'm near a microphone. The American accent at my normal vocal range really sucks.
So here it is, it's a sort of half boredom clip, half demo reel thingy.
