For the 25th game, I feel we should try to give a big change to the rules and whatnot. A little something special.
This is a game of Kingmaker, a game that holds its origins in the game Mafia.
While Mafia focuses on the mob mentality (no pun intended) and democracy to progress through each day, Kingmaker decides to follow a different path: the path of monarchy. Every night, the Kingmaker, a pro-villager role, decides on a King from the pool of players besides the Kingmaker. That King, whether a Villager trying to root out the assassins or an Assassin trying to find the villagers, must listen to the advice of his fellow players, think carefully, and eventually decide on one person to be executed. The thinking part is important! At night, regardless of how well the King did, he must step down and a new King must be chosen by the Kingmaker. But the Assassins aren't just sitting around, either; every night, the Assassins may choose one villager to kill off! The game continues until the Assassins are gone or the Assassins equal or outnumber the village.
But the village is not helpless against evil kings and assassins, for legend has it that a Hero, loyal to the village, will rise up against the King if he is about to be executed, and kill him instead!
SETUP
7 Villagers
1 Kingmaker
1 Hero
2 Assassins
RULES OF KINGMAKER
* The Kingmaker may never reveal his role! If he does it is an automatic modkill. There are no restrictions for other roles but I can't imagine anyone really claim Assassin, and claiming Hero hurts your role more than it helps.
* The Kingmaker picks two candidates for Kingship: a main and backup selection. If the main selection is killed, the backup choice becomes king.
* The selected King ends the day by typing, in bold, ##EXECUTE D00d. Don't do this if you're not the King.
* If the Hero is ever chosen for execution, the King is killed instead of the Hero. The Hero then cannot become King for the rest of the game after he has been revealed. This is the only special power of the Hero.
* The Kingmaker must choose a new King every night; there will be no repeat Kings until there are 5 players or less left.
* If the Kingmaker is executed, a new Kingmaker will arise out of the loyal villagers and choose a King for the next day. If the Kingmaker is killed by Assassins, a new Kingmaker will be chosen but the old Kingmaker's choices will go into effect.
* If a deadline is in place and the King does not execute anyone before the deadline, the King will be executed when the town grows tired of his incompetence! There is NOT a no-lynch option in this game.
* Don't be a dumbass if you're picked as King.
Any other Kingmaker rules you're not sure about? Let me know.
GENERAL RULES
* DO NOT edit posts. Flagrant abuses will lead to severe consequences.
* DO NOT communicate outside of the thread about the thread, unless specifically told otherwise.
* DO NOT publish mod IMs, unless given permission.
* Instalynch is in effect. Once an execution choice have been reached the day will end.
* Deadlines will be in full effect. If there is no execution, the King will be killed instead!
* Cardflip is on, a player's role will be revealed once he dies.
* There are no role restrictions in regards to the style of your posts.
* Players will be added to the game in the order they sign up in the thread.
Since this is a smaller game, it shouldn't take as long. Let's do this and do it fast!
