Mafia 12: Invade This!

In the cold uncarring space, a ship containing a small recon team of aliens races towards Earth. They have been trusted with one task...to kill off a small number of humans and study their weaknesses. After that is done they are to return home to their fleet so the invasion of earth can begin. The ship errupts into tremors as they descend..."damn cheap construction" one of them thinks as parts begin to fly off. Seconds later they crash land in a small town...too bad most of the town witnessess their fall from the sky.

A handful of townies pinpoint ground zero and go to investigate. Horrified, their Shrieks fill the night air as a group of unknown life forms emerge from the wreckage. The shrieks become blood curdling as the pathetic humans are slain and their forms stolen.

The aliens cloak their ship and blast the new corpses to dust. They must do some more research into how these humans work...

Major change in play
Oh, in addition to the above information there is one major change to how the game is played. There will be two morticians. As long as these morticians are alive, the town will be able to learn (via autopsies) the affiliation of who was lynched. If all morticians die, the town will only know if aliens are still out there by the fact that the game isn't over.

There is also one mortician trainer. He too acts as a mortician and can train someone else to also take on the role of mortician should he find himself the only one remaining. He has a 1 in 3 chance of success.

winning conditions
-Aliens win if they comprise half the town
-Humanity wins if they kill all the aliens

OH Thank GOD! I thought that my lack of getting access to the phone line this afternoon like I thought I would/wanted to was going to find me dead when I got on.

I can't even stay long right now, but I will be back and will be here for the whole rest of the evening in about half an hour to 45 minutes after I run an errand to my office up at the school. Yeah I have an office, it's weird right? I share it with a few people and it's for an organization BUT getting off topic... just popped in to give that little heads up cus I don't want to get killed for being and inactive while I'm gone. I think you're over-thinking this, no offense XD. The first round is always a random vote and people just follow the majority vote. There's really nothing fishy about it. Besides, there isn't really much of a lead you can go on.

The crowd slowly walks down to the center of the town...everyone eyeing one another cautiously. Conversations begin, but no more than a minute passes before PullMyHairOut speaks up.

"Pestilance sure seems blood thirsty!" He shouts

"yeah!" Everyone replies save for a small handful.

Fear wells up behind otherwise blank eyes. "Wait!" he tries to scream, but his screams are cut short as Rikka buries a blade deep into his chest...deep scarlet begins to stain his shirt...spreading as if trying to encompass the whole of the garment. He falls to the ground gripping his chest as his screams give way to agonized gurgling. A smirk nearly crosses Rikka's lips as the town watches in amazement, but she is stopped as Pestilance's flesh begins to melt off his bones releasing a cloud of dense green gas that engulfs her frail form.

Pestilance and Carnage, Gaseous Creature and Alien, is dead

Rikka is knocked out, and may not use a night action.


Thus ends day one and begins night one. Start sending in your night actions. You have until 1:30AM EST/12:30AM Central. That's in one hour and twelve minutes.

As day breaks, everyone exits their homes...most a little tired from lack of sleep. It's scary when aliens are on the loose! Luckily, EVERYONE exits their homes. Seems everyone has made it through the night...what the hell? Can this be right? Were there really aliens after all?

Looks like she knew Pestilence and Carnage couldn’t be saved from lynching and just changed her vote to him to avoid suspicion. She also threw in the comment about being sorry unless he was an alien which just seems kind of an odd thing to say… In addition, Rikka was knocked out and couldn’t perform a night action, which is probably why I'm guessing that no one died during the night…

Yeah, he was bloodthirsty. Even I pointed that out before the game even started (the second page is your friend). But that's just it - it was *before* the game even started. Unless some roles (in this case, alien roles) were sent out before others, we had no info on him. We had no info on P&C, but luckily, we made the right choice (even if it took me a little longer to do so).

Well, again... it could have been an act. And you getting the gas could have bumped you into a much higher position of authority or it could have given you a new power or something, despite you being unable to make any night actions. And since nothing happened that night... I don't know. It's very weird to me. :/

The crowd gathers together, their emotions filling the air with a sort of tense heat. You can feel the pressure as everyone suspects everyone.

"Rikka," one person shouts, "She's the obvious culprit. She did the deed yesterday. An obvious ploy to protect herself."

"Nikki," another person cries, "She's gotta be one of them! I've always suspected her!"

Klaymen pulls two farm implents from, well, seemingly nowhere.

"Let's get 'em both!" he cackles. Rikka and Nikki eye eachother cautiously as they are led to a stage in the center of town. They are set up together, side-to-side, as a firing squad of townies aims. Suddenly, from the top of the wall they're standing against, a large metal plate falls down over Rikka. It bounces a bit and then falls over. Rikka, Nikki, and the other townies look on confusedly, as the firing squad regiains their bearings.

"READY!" Klay yells, holding a hoe in the air, "AIM! FI-YAH!"

The two girls are filled with lead pellets and finally, in a moment of agony, slump over together.

Autopsies are hardly needed on these corpses. The morticians already recognize Rikka as a human, and one of their own. Meanwhile, a quick inspection of Nikki's body reveals it was inhabited by a symbiotic beast, now slain by Earthly powers.

Rikka, Mortician and Townie,, is DEAD.
Nikki, Body Snatcher and Alien, is DEAD.

It is now Night Two. Night actions have 30 minutes to be turned in. That's 3:50 AM EST, kids. Get on it.

As discussion begins, there is suddenly a blaring siren. From the north, a throng of people enter the town.

The five newcomers listen intently as the town explains their troubles. The newbies decide to stick around and help; that's why they came anyway.

I think that there is one alien among the original people plus the possibility of someone that Nikki body snatched... and either one or two in the new people. I have not seen enough activity from the new folks yet to make a vote on who is an alien among them, so I'm gonna stick with trying to flush out the aliens still among us from the originals.

Sadly, yes. All I have to go off of right now is "who voted for Rikka?" It would appear to be down to you and Klaymen, but of the two you were the only one who reasoned that Rikka might be an alien and could not be convinced otherwise. Klaymen just seems to be voting for whoever's voted for him, at the moment.

From somewhere in the crowd, a scalpel is sent flying through the air before embedding in Fuchs' forehead. Blood trickles from the new wound as he falls over...ceasing all functions of life.

Angry, Chinomi whips out a pistol.

"I wanted to do that!" she shouts pointing the gun at the only other suspect in question.
"I came all the way here to help you asshats!" Lenne screams. The hammer falls upon the cold metal of the gun, and in a split second both suspects lie in a pile-o-corpses...dead.

As day breaks, the town plus their surviving new members gather in the center of town for a head count. With any luck, perhaps they've finally uprooted the alien menace? Who can say, for sure?

Well, I suppose I can. The alien menace still looms overhead and on the ground, but at the very least no one has died tonight. Whether or not that is a cause for celebration or for concern, no one can seem to decide upon. Either way, the time has come to lynch another member of the town, for the preservation of their way of life.

All right, so let's try to analyze things from the votes, starting with the minority.

pullmyhairout's vote doesn't seem suspicious to me. Sure, he voted for me, but his basis was so out of game it wasn't even funny. Seems like he looked at who was playing, recognized me, and pointed the finger.

Hatomikazuki's vote is a little strange. She claims that pullmyhairout is "quick to blame other people," while she herself is chosing to blame him despite what everyone else was saying about Fuchs and Lenne. She also said that he was "unwilling to balence out both sides." Not sure what she meant by that, but it seems odd that someone who threw in a vote unrelated to what was going on in the thread would be talking about balance.

On that note we're having a thunderstorm here, and my power is very prone to going out. If I disappear, that's why.

Yeah, I just did another random vote. I was half asleep at the time and just logged on to see if I could get in a vote before the day ended so I could go back to sleep. Sorry Fruitfly, but you gotta give me some credit, you are good at this game and have the luck to fall into the "good guy" category alot.

The finger was pointed at me?! I seriously didn't notice....xD'' The vote for PullMyHair out was ON A WHIM. That's what many people's first votes are. right? This was not a first vote, yes. And in my post I SAID I WAS ALSO BEING AN IMPULSIVE VOTER. I didn't feel like there was enough info for MYSELF to vote on someone throughly. So I made an impulsive vote. It's the same thing on this round. I have little STRONG evidence. People who are aliens keep getting killed with little evidence as to WHY we supported them dying... I dunno...Maybe i'm just a crazy one?

I am, too. Time to analyze the votes for Lenne.

Unfortunately, there's not much to analyze. Klaymen voted for Lenne because she voted for him. Everyone else seemed to just go with the flow, which makes sense because we're assuming that one of the new people must be an alien.

Sirius it the only one who claimed to put any actual thought into things, saying that her past posts seemed a little iffy. Lenne did flip flop a lot, though her reasoning for voting for Klaymen at least had some basis.

Not sure where exactly this gets us.
