Well... it IS!

You wanna run a mafia game, that's awesome. But let's make it totally orderly and single-file, children.

If you would like to run a game, please reply to this thread with the following info:

Theme: (i.e. Battle Royale, Heroes, or just plain Mafia)
Number of Players: (How many players you would like to have. I really don't suggest anything more than 15, especially if it's your first time)
Details: (Anything extra about your game)

It's first-come, first serve, and I reserve the right to trump any of you at any time. : p

Okay, before this happens again like it did with Heroes, let me claim this one too since that was going to be the game I was going to start tonight.

Edit: Well, actually, it's kinda lame of me to claim stuff like this. You guys should be able to do it too. If someone else wants SSB, you may take it. If not, I will.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - Judge Doom, his weasels and Dip vs Toon Town and Eddie Valiant

Card Captor Sakura - Sakura, Syaoran, Kero-chan and Yue vs everyone else as Clow Cards

Office Space - Peter's group vs stuff like the fax machine, a case of the Mondays, the Bobs, etc

Classic Sitcom characters vs Modern Sitcom characters

Baldur's Gate/Planescape Torment/Fallout NPC brawl

Dune - House Atreides/Fremen vs House Harkonnen/House Corrino

Sandworm* (Serial killer that can join Fremen/Atreides if a Fremen scout with a thumper finds the sandworm during the game)
Mercenary* (Serial Killer that can be converted to a Sardaukar if found by A Corrino commander)

Star Wars - Sith/Dark Jedi vs Jedi with each side having one character that can turn another to the dark or light side... The Sith are given a list of other Sith, but MAY NOT communicate with each other via PMs due to Sith Arrogance... The Grey Jedi also shows up on the Sith list as a Sith/Dark Jedi

Grey Jedi* If investigated would always show up as the same alignment as the person that investigated her (This person can still win the game by herself even if all the good Jedi are killed: It's announced that there is still hope for the Force and the Sith must lynch each other, trying to figure out which one of them is really the Grey Jedi)...
Bounty Hunter* Must flip a coin every night to determine whether he stays neutral or joins either side of the force (Even if he joins a new side, the next night he must still flip the coin to see if he stays, changes sides or goes back to being being neutral)

Suikoden Series - I think this one is self explanitory with tons of characters to pick from

Super Mario RPG - Geno! Basically Mario's group vs The Smithy Gang/Axem Rangers, Belome, etc

1984 - Or something similiar... Small resistance vs a large group of government officials from Minitrue, Miniluv, Miniplenty, and Minipax

Dr. Seuss - Random characters and things from his books hehe

Seinfeld - Jerry and friends vs Newman, the Soup Nazi, Muffin stumps, etc

Decided to remove this from my original list and make it it's own post... I'm hoping you decide to use this one and maybe modify it to your liking Matt :-P

Vampire: The Masquerade – Brawl between two or three vampire clans and several humans - This game should be played with about 20 players (More or less depending on vampire clan size)

Vampires: There will be two or three vampire factions. Each faction will have a MAXIMUM amount of vampires it can hold, and may not exceed the max (2-4). Each faction is attempting to kill all opposing vampire factions as well as the Vampire Hunter. Each vampire within a faction has a masquerade point and is lost if a vampire kills a human during the night, unless that human is the Vampire Hunter. Losing the masquerade point causes the vampire to go berserk: Their vote becomes random for one day and they randomly use one of their night abilities on a random person. This berserk vampire may still vote as she pleases during the day, but her vote has an extremely high chance of changing at the last second. (This change is anonymous and her identity is not given, however).

During the night a vampire may use three or four main abilities: 1. Drain someone of all their blood, killing them. 2. Embrace a random human (This ability “recruits” a random human into a vampire of your clan, provided you are not at your clan’s maximum capacity – This ability also has a slight chance to target the Vampire Hunter or his successor in which nothing happens) 3. A unique ability specific to their clan (This ability’s effectiveness is reduced if they are not one of the clan’s original vampires – This is due to the original vampires having stronger blood due to being a generation closer to Caine) 4. A unique ability specific to the person (You must be an original vampire of the clan to even use this ability – Also due to having strong blood from Caine)

It should be noted that, although all vampires from each faction may attempt to kill someone during the night, only the first "confirmed" kill will be counted. (Any other successful kill after this will be considered a feigned death by the target and will have no effect, beneficial or negative)

If a vampire is lynched or killed during the night, his clan members may use their embrace ability the next night to turn a random human into a replacement vampire. This person is PM’d and informed that they have joined this clan and will be given the names of all its members. A person that was been successfully embraced is NOT announced to the public; Only her clan will know that she has joined them as the new vampire. This person will have their old human abilities replaced with a generic vampire ability set

Humans: Humans are the majority and are trying to lynch all vampire factions but it should be noted that the game is not over if all humans are dead or embraced… Unfortunately for the humans they cannot kill anyone during the night… And they get rather crappy abilities to use (At least compared to the vampires)...The only exception to this is the Vampire Hunter.

The Vampire Hunter cannot be embraced, is immune to all non-lethal vampire attacks, and has the ability to kill vampires and only vampires during the night. In addition, the Vampire Hunter’s vote counts twice if he happens to vote for a vampire… (This vote is added at the last second anonymously and is not even mentioned by the moderator unless it results in a lynching) Before the game begins, the Vampire Hunter may name a person to be his successor that will take his place should the Hunter die before the third day. In the event the Vampire Hunter names a vampire as his successor, a random human will be chosen instead. His successor gains the ability to investigate for vampires and cannot be embraced during the first two nights.

Up to 15 people can play, three are Ninja, one is the Chuunin other two are Shinobi. The Shogun has the power to kill anyone they think is the Mafia at night along with the Mafia...and the Medicine Man is obviously the doctor...

I haven't put much thought into this, anyone can expand on it if they want.

My theme... I'll just call it "Dark Mafia." Anything more would give too much away.

After some consideration, I found that the PERFECT nubmer of players would be 24, but I'm willing to give or take a few depending on interest level.

It's just about done... earliest I could start it would probably be some time this weekend.

Theme: Uh... It's sort of a supernatural... psychic powers thing. >.< Is that too much like Heroes? I'm sorry if it is. I'll make it special and different.

Details: There's like... psychics, precogs and postcogs, telekinetics, empaths, etc. with different powers. It's complicated, but I think it has potential.

Being a camp counselor at a Japanese camp, I'm running a game of "Yakuza" (Japanese mafia) with my cabin. There's the Yakuza, town (which can have roles from geisha to samurai to anything...), and the occassional ninja. ^^ It's pretty fun. I'll let you guys know how they like it when it's over. Theme - Invade This! (Alien Invasion game)
Number - actually, this part needs to be hidden for the time being
Details - In the cold uncarring space, a ship containing a small recon team of aliens races towards Earth. They have been trusted with one task...to kill off a small number of humans and study their weaknesses. After that is done they are to return home to their fleet so the invasion of earth can begin. The ship errupts into tremors as they descend..."damn cheap construction" one of them thinks as parts begin to fly off. Seconds later they crash land in a small town...too bad most of the town witnessess their fall from the sky.

A handful of townies pinpoint ground zero and go to investigate. Horrified, their Shrieks fill the night sky as a group of unknown life forms emerge from the wreckage. The shrieks become blood curdling as the pathetic humans are slain and their forms stolen.

The aliens cloak their ship and blast the new corpses to dust. They must do some more research into how these humans work...


Rules are the same. However...roles and twists will make this game fun.

Umbrella vs Townies. At first its just like two or three umbrella and the rest Townies. At night the umbrella team can choose a townie for a 25% chance of turning them into a zombie. At night the zombie can attack and kill someone...but Umbrella can't send out a zombie and turn someone in the same night. In the day time the zombie's behave just like normal people. Umbrella can also choose to turn their zombie into a tyrant. As I tyrant the person can no longer act like a human and thus can no longer post in thread nor vote. The only way to kill it is to Lynch.

Maybe each Townie is supplied with an item, similar to batte royale...Im not creative...maybe First Aid Spray, Green herbs, and like Capsules to protect from zombifying. Weapons...stuuff like that.

This idea come from when I used to run mafia games at the camp I worked for. However, we can't have "mafias" and "killings" "and "lynchings" and all the other things that could scar a 5 year old for life. So instead of "Mafia" we played "Happy Town"

Theme: "Happy Town"-- Mafia for the kiddies
Number of Players: 10
Details: Happy town is a land far far away where everybody is always very happy. But, the town members have been one by one getting less and less happy by the evil work of the "Doom and Gloom Gnomes." Now the town must figure out who among them are D&G Gnomes before Happy Town becomes forever un-happy.

Lots of fun roles that I won't reveal yet, but I think it's gonna be fun, especially using the little people roles with big people. ^_^

Title: Disney Mafia
Number of players: 16
Extra Info: This is Disney Mafia. It's Heros and Princesses (is that spelled right?) on one side, villians on the other. Standard rules apply. This should be a fairly short game, because of some of the ability's some people have. The characters are from famous Disney movies, and I have the character list made out. All I have to do is finish writing up the abilities, which shouldn't take to long.

Also if anyone wants to help me Mod this, I'll be glad to welcome assistance. If you wanna help, PM me so I know who I can call on for help.

Details: It's going to be Suikoden characters from Suikoden I to III. I couldn't really figure how the players would really come together since a lot of the characters are from different periods within the Suikoden timeline, so I just made them all either Scarlet Moon Empire or 108 Stars of Destiny. Some characters also have special conditions that must be met in order for them to win.

Hmm, well interest is pretty high, and AvP won't be my NEXT game- I alreday have that figured out.

My next game after Dark Mafia will be MARVEL COMICS themed. Go ahead and stick me at the bottom of the current list with that one.

But as of now, AvP will likely be the third game I run. Don't put it in the cue yet. I don't want to run two games back-to-back, nor would that really be fair to everyone else. As stated, that may be a while from now, seeing as a lot of people are interested in running games right now. I had an idea for another Sci-Fi themed game in mind, but I like the AvP idea much better.
As the one who came up with it, consider yourself #1 on the player list... whenever it rolls around.

Also, anyone interested in helping me with Tsumari Style 2: Marvel Showdown or Tsumari Style 3: Aliens vs Predators, go ahead and let me know. Heck, if you wanna run AvP by yourself, feel free to take it from me. I've got enough planned already.

A mafia game loosely (very loosely) based on Sailor Moon. I could see how this would work for all five seasons of the show, but for now I'm only commiting to one game.

Some of the gods and goddesses want to kill each other, and are at war. Mortals can be granted abilities, and anything can happen. If a god is killed, perhaps it is a god important to the villagers. Something terrible may occur for them. If a god kills another...well...they'll be hell to pay. (one god may have the ability to kill any person of their choosing every third day.) No one knows who anyone is, and few people know who is on their side. Details: As of right now, there will be ten teams of two... Each team will have One Master and One Servant... Details: Like Any other Mafia games, But this one based on the Dot Hack Gu series, with alot of hidden surprises with that! There will be 3 teams (Epitaph, Aida, Neutral) and normal players "Individuals" Each character got their own unique ability. The game ends when Either the Epitaph players Destroys all the Aida players, Aida players Coma-tising the Epitaph players or the Neutral players destroy everyone.
Background Story to this game:
Based on Dot Hack Gu. Few Epitaph users are chosen to investigate an area filled with Aida-like Activities, upon logging on,the Epitaph users have found chaos in "The World", players attacking each other with confusion, some controlled by Aida infected Players, the place has become a warfare.
Now the Epitaph users without knowing who is good or not, has to find out the true Aida infected players before they put everyone in Comas.In the midst of war, 3 knights (Azures) joined in pulled in the by the power Aida and Epitaph Users are releasing...The World once a peaceful online game..has now become a battlefield.

Suggestion of one I'd like to do at some point:

Theme: Organization XIII from Kingdom Hearts
Players: 15
Details: There are three sides in this story (Dark, Light, Nobody) and in this plot-twisted Planet, named Destiny, the sides will fight with eachother and trick eachother often. The Darkness (Heartless and Riku) fights to rule the others with fear, the Light (Humans, townspeople, and Sora) fights for freedom, and the Nobodies (Organization XIII) fight for themselves to regain their hearts, which they believe will allow them to rule Destiny. Each player will have their own special abilities that gives them a potencial edge over others, but maybe a weakpoint to some attacks.

Background Story to this game Kingdom Hearts opened, but the keyblade wielders realized only too late that it's effects of changing the universe as they know it have happened. Many faces appear and dissapear from existance, and now the three sides of this battle have found Destiny has a larger weakness, and the Light knows that again they will have to fight the Darkness and Nobodies to stop their control.

Yeah. It also means that you cannot just start one out of turn, Yugure. There are people who have been waiting patiently for their turn to start a game - you cannot just randomly decide, "Hey, I'm ready, I want to go."

Not to mention, there is a rule of only two games at a time: http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/showpost.php?p=340723&postcount=3 Since neither game is finished, you should not have started your own game. And you definitely should not have jumped ahead of everybody else.

Ready to go means that the entire game schematics are done. For instance, the mod has written out all the characters that will be in the game, they've prepared the rules, they've spent time balancing all the powers out, and they are completely ready to start a game right now. Those without the asterisk have volunteered to mod a game, but are not done writing the rules out yet. For an idea of what I mean, you can check the ends of previous games in which the mod posts the full character sheet with all the powers listed.

(As for avatars, we just like being random, and I like showing off all the bento lunches that I pack.)
