To begin, I would like to publicly thank Tony for providing myself and all of us with this wonderful sub-forum.

So you may be wondering, why is there a new sub-forum? What is Mafia? Why does your face look so stupid, Matt?

Well, let me tell you.

Mafia is a sort of party game. Everyone in the game is either a good guy (Townie), or bad guy (Mafia). The good guys wanna outlast the bad guys, and vice versa. Each day, everyone votes to lynch someone, killing that player and revealing their role.

Each night, the mafia (http://www.mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Mafia) may conspire together and kill a town member. The mafia wins when they comprise 50% of the town.

Here (http://www.sitesled.com/members/mikeburnfire/mafiascum04.swf) is a Flash-based intro to the game.

Simple enough? Yeah, sure, but things get tricky fast.

The town (http://www.mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Town) may have roles to counteract the mafia. For this introductory game, I will tell you we are playing with one doctor and one cop. (http://www.mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Cop) A doctor (http://www.mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Doctor) can protect a player from mafia death each night. A cop can investigate a player each night, determining their role. They are the town's best friend, though it is in their best interest to keep their roles a secret. The town wins when all mafia members are dead.

Sound fun? Sound at the very least interesting? Don't get it? It's fine, you will. Read over a few threads, get the hang of it. You'll do fine, you'll have fun.

Or maybe you'll die. : )

Other Rules:

House rules may vary from game to game, however the following are always in effect unless otherwise noted:

1. You may NOT talk about a game outside of the thread unless your role specifically states so. If I catch wind of someone doing this, I will ban you from any future games that I moderate. No second chances. The end.

2. Voting in games should be done in bold (i.e VOTE: Matt Cruea or UNVOTE: Matt Cruea). This is done for a few reasons, but mainly so that I can pick the votes from the chaff, as it were. If it's not bolded, it doesn't count. Simple as that.

This is a living document, and I may edit these rules or change them as I see fit. It's not too harsh.

Addendum One: I think, at this point, it would be best if we just had one game running at a time.

Addendum Two: I think, at this point, we're cool with two.

Addendum Three: Your thread will be stuck if it is active and has begun. If it becomes too inactive, it will be unstuck.

Addendum Four: This is not an image macro emporium, this is not a spam forum, despite it being a subforum of "Fun." Mafia games are supposed to be about having fun, but it's getting out of hand and I've received some complaints, not to mention the extreme bandwidth problems it can cause. Don't spam up your games. Keep the image posting to a minimum. I'm going to start doling out punishments for this.
