Mafia 5: Battle Royale - Class V-A

[Matt Cruea]

Class five-A has always been one of the better in your prefecture, and you've always been proud to be a part of it. Throughout the so-called "children's rebellion" of the past five years, the majority of you have been fine students.

However, when, one day, after a mass-blackout leading to a field trip, you all awaken in the middle of a dense, foggy... classroom? Quickly you discover, to your horror, the metal collars around your neck. Everyone looks around, only to be interrupted by a man walking into the room. He is tall and bulky, and his eyes show a deep madness.

"Hello, class!" he smiles, turning towards you, "Welcome to your final exam! My name is Matt Cruea, and I am your new instructor! I hope that some of you have studied, because this test may be the biggest one you ever have to face."

The man laughs, strolling about the room non-chalantly, backed up by heavily armed soldiers.

"You have all been drafted into the Survival Program. I take it by your stunned silence you know of it, yes? For the next few days, you will set loose upon our island, forced to, each day, vote for one of your fellow students to be killed. You will each be given a weapon. You will each be forced to play. You will each be in for the battle of your lives."

He laughs as the soldiers roll in a large rack of satchels. He grabs one and tosses it forward.

"Student Number One-"

This is MAFIA, though the rules are gonna be QUITE different in this one. All of the basic rules are the same, for sure, so if you haven't played before, there's four examples for you here in the Fun forum. I'll explain the rules in full after the recruitment phase. For now, who's ready? We can have at max, 20 players, but we can certainly play with less. Sign-ups will end at noon, June 4th, or whenever 20 players is reached.

"Let me explain to you the rules, hopefully it won't be so hard. You each get a weapon. USE IT. Kill or be killed. That's it."

Someone stands up to shout something back, but it's no use. Mr. Cruea quickly turns and hurls a dagger into her forehead.

bal_ny, Girl 20, is dead

"Pardon the intrusion. Now, here are your-"

"I don't want to play..." comes a tiny voice, "I DON'T!"

"Sit down."

"SCREW YOU, OLD MAN!"

Mr. Cruea pulls out a small remote and presses a button. The unwieldy student's collar starts beeping... beeping... beeping...

SCHLINKT! The collar explodes, slicing through his throat.

Ig, Boy 6, is dead

"Now! Go! Play! Have fun! And good luck. Heh heh heh."

This is BATTLE ROYALE. Each day, the students may choose to lynch one of the other players. That player will then be killed, just like in any other mafia game. There are a few caveats, however.

Vote Limit: If you do not vote for anyone for two consecutive days, your collar will automatically explode on the second night. EVERYONE must play.

Weapon Stealing: Not satisfied with the weapon in your bag? Or are you just greedy and want more? No matter! Each student has been given a weapon. Instead of choosing to use your weapon at night, you may instead elect to try to steal the weapon of another player. Any player can do this any night, and it has a 25% chance of success.

Weapons: Everyone starts with a weapon. When a player dies, if they have a weapon, it will be found by the person who killed them. If they are lynched, it will randomly go to one of those who voted for them. You may hold up to three weapons at a time. If you attain more than three, you must drop one and it will be randomly assigned elsewhere.

Night Actions: As just about everyone has an item of some sort, let it be known that you may make only ONE night action. Thus, if you have the sword and the fighting staff, you may NOT choose to kill someone with the sword AND hit someone with the staff AND steal a weapon. You may choose ONE of the three.

I hope that explains everything. With 20 students left on the island, it will take 11 votes to lynch them. Day One will end automatically at 7:00 PM EST.

See Fuch, regardless of if we find a loophole during the day people are still going to die at night. There's no real way around that. Plus, if no one dies, the game doesn't end.

That being said, I don't think I'm ready to stab Fuch in the back for his act of kindness. I don't know if it has something to do with his skill or not, and frankly I'm curious. This may get me in the end, but I'm going to choose something different. Unfortunately I don't really have a whole lot of time to contemplate who that will be so I'm randomly choosing here.

Gah! I missed three pages of action! Darn me turning my alarm off in my sleep again!

One thing I noticed right off thought, to the people that say we should not vote for a lynching... voting with no information on day one is ALWAYS how the mafia games go. Someone always has to go on day one to make way for the night actions so that we can get a better idea of who is up to no good and go after them. It sucks, I know, but it's the only way to put the game into motion quickly.

That being said, I am not going to vote quite yet... mainly cus I have to go back over the last three pages and see what I missed since I slept in >.<

The first ousting is always a gamble. You have no dreams, and some whispers at the most. First rounds you have nothing to base off of and you have to take a risk. Take too long and the shepherd puts up completely random people to be killed, it could even be someone that the group KNOWS is innocent.

I'm just saying, Mr. Cruea is spontaneous. If we take too long with a decision he may twist shit around and kill more than one person while our votes could stop that. And though one person has to die, one person is better than two.

That's how Mafia (I usually play the werewolf variant) USUALLY goes, but this is not the USUAL game. It's based on a story in which, in the end, the system is subverted and more than one person survives.

I haven't been active on these boards long enough to know what Matt is likely to do, but I still say we should have faith and see how the night plays out. I, for one, am taking this in-character. Not sure if that's how its usually played, but my actions are in the interest of my character- and as many others as I can trust- surviving.

I found myself alone during school, rarely did people pay attention to me. Then you did, you were my best friend and I feel as though I can never repay you the favor of your kindness except by taking my own life...which I could never do.

The bushes are large and they scratch against my bare knee as I walk past. It stings but I know to keep going. The satchel isn't to heavy, nor too light and so I walk on breaking occassionally to quench my thirst and satisfy my hunger. Its quiet now as I head to the warehouse, broken by the sudden explosion, he's dead. So much for my escape that way. But he doesn't stay dead. He lunges at me with sharp fangs. I kill him.

Once again, I'm alone...so I choose to stand up to the evil. The Vampires.
