Harro =D. I was just thinking about something. I know lotsa artists and they all have their own way of doing art. Define your art style and way of working.

Style: Mixture of realistic western comic book style with mostly animé influences.
Inspired by: Nomura Tetsuya (Square Enix Char designer) and Joe Madureira (various comics. X-men, Battle Chasers)

Materials: 0,3mm leadholder/mechanical pencil, 0,5mm black fineliner for inking, Wacom Graphire II tablet

Software: Adobe Photoshop for CG. Desperately trying to learn Painter and Open Canvas. XD

Style: Mainly abstract

Infulences/Role Models: Van Gogh, Matisse, Renoir, Kandinsky, Claus Oldenburg, F.L. Wright, a whole slew of others.

Materials: Acrylic paints and brushes on canvas, wintergreen oils (for transfers), xerox copies, 0,3 mechanical pencil, 6B-6H lead pencils, charcoal, black ink and pens of various widths, copper plates, colored glass, black and white film, N65 Nikon.

Software: Mikriotech scanner and digital camera. Adobe photodelux for touch-ups. Photoshop (when at school computers).

Style: A cutesy- manga style.

Materials: Pencils, watercolor pencils, Pigment inking pens, paper, watercolor paper, tablet, mouse.

Influences: Several manga-ka such as Obata Takeshi, Arina Tanemura, Toshihiro Ono, ect. ect., as well as several amateur artists.

Software: Mostly I use oekaki, ComicWorks, and open canvas, and I hope to get better at using Adobe photoshop ^^

Style: shoujo-manga, definitely. can do real-life drawings too

Inspired by: CLAMP! Yoshitoshi Abe, Fujiko Fujio (creator of Doraemon), Ai Yazawa etc etc etc...

Materials: mechanical pencil (0.5 mm), Wacom Intuos II (tiny 4 x 6"), Pigma Micron pens (assorted widths), crowquill pens/ink

Software: Adobe Photoshop (gotta love academic discounts), Illustrator, and Deleter ComicWorks (using this most of the time now)

Style:: Not quite sure how to explain. Probably rhe mature chibi-ish anime style. People say that if I ever created an anime the art work would look like Gravitation. EEP! XP

Inspired by:: I can NEVER remember people's names. I love CLAMP, the artist of the Utena movie, and Naoko Takeuchi.

Materials:: PrismaColor markers and colored pencils, mechanical and regular pencil, permanent markers (YES...don't laugh), oil pastels, and black bold pens.

Software:: Adobe Photoshop 6.0 and 7.0. And I suck at it ><

Style: Purist anime/game/manga, classic fantasy realism, anthro, creatures etc. Also photo realism and cartoon of any style.

Inspired by: Everything. Some stages included Sonic the Hedgehog, Sailor Moon, Tenchi, Slayers. Currently acquiring inspiration from EVERYTHING I see as well as focusing on Atsuko Ishida (anime), Kohime Ohse (game) and Arina Tanemura (manga). Alphonse Mucha.

Materials: 0.5 pr 0.3mm mech pencil, blue/red/green/purple col-erase pencil, deleter free pen (equipped with G-pen nibs), black cat #1 ink, regular printer paper, animation paper, 80lb A4 manga paper, ballpoint pen, 0.5-0.8mm copic pens. Inked using animation disk & table. Also use watercolor, acrylic, gauche & prismacolor pencils. Canon A70 for digital photography.

Software: Photoshop, Illustrator (getting to learn vectors), Open Canvas, Paint Shop Pro. Most commonly used are Photoshop & Open Canvas.

Inspired by: Clamp, Takeuchi Naoko, and you guys here at VACU (where trying to get better and improve upon life-like-ness is concerned) XD

Materials: HB pencil, whatever paper I can get my hands on, usually lined, though, since it helps me with my proportions, and a black pen. Scanner to scan in. >D

Software: Adobe Photoshop to edit and re-size before uploading. Canon ScanGear Toolbox to Scan the work in.

Style: It all can be a bit eclectic at times. Painting - Semi-abstract (mostly my paintings have lights, people, buildings and stuff like that in them) and illustration/comics - sort of anime/manga style (I like doing exaggerated perspectives with these).

Inspired by: General anime/manga, Yoshitaka Amano, Brom, Alan Lee, Arthur Rackham, Hiroshige, William de Kooning, Sean Scully, Erte and Tamara de Lempkica, and anything that contemporary artists do.

Materials: HB, 2B, 4B pencils; 0.1, 0.5, brush, pen, Indian ink; and lots of mixed media - watercolour, gouache, acrylic paints; oil pastels, paints and bars; soft and hard pastels, crayons/coloured pencils. I work on all types of surfaces too from sketchbook to canvas to digital. I like making a mess!

Software: Paint Shop Pro 7, and trying to learn Photoshop now.

Style: Um... Depends on my mood-- I do everything from photomanip to anime/manga to realism to... other stuff. I like flowy lines, though.

Inspiration: Friends, fellow art students at my school, Yoshitaka Amano, various anime/manga artists, Bottecelli, DaVinci, Raphael, ... others...

Material: Sketchbook, pencils, hotel pens (they have to be from a hotel!), normal pens, Prismacolor markers, Crayola anything, found objects... And my spiffy camera. Oh, and I love scratchboards.

Style: Usually a sad-depressing realism, but not true realism. Some aspects influenced by anime, and mostly self taught art.

Medium: I have versed myself fairly well in most mediums. I like pencils (any ol kind) and pens for sketching, but get into the .05mm mechanical pencil and .03 fine-tip sharpee inking pen, a graphite rod (sometimes) and others... but i predominantly do pencil sketches. i use color less so i can get down form and material first.

Software: Open Canvas (v1 - honestly, it's crap in japanese...), MSPaint (pixel art?), Macromedia Flash 5 (use it all the time), Macromedia Flash MX (v7 - never use it), Adobe Photoshop (rarely used), and many other utilities I can't think of right at this moment.

Style: Anime ^^; Mostly shoujo, I would guess; I don't think it really has a genre ._.

Inspired By: Some people tell me "Nagamo Nanaji", or someone? in my more 'revamped' style... not sure who they are ^^' I've also been told my style resembles Escaflowne ._. Other than that, I don't have a real inspiration, like "Wow, I really want to draw like them~!" I just... draw how I like to draw ^^;

Except I do take inspiration from songs :P

Materials: Mechanical graphite pencil, copic multuliners. Colouring, both coloured pencils, whatever brand I find laying around, and Photoshop 7. Toning: Digital and non-digital, deleter brand. Non-digital really wears on me, though ^^;

Software: Photoshop 7, for colouring and toning :) I've tried others (OpenCanvas, Paint Shop Pro) but I usually stick with the first thing I try; don't like change ^^;

Style: Mixture of jap and western comic book style mainly but experiment a lot to fit with whatever project I do. I mostly do pixel art these days like sprites, backdrops and portraits.

Materials: HB Pencil and A4 Sketchpad. (Gotta get around to buying mechanical pencils at some point)

Influences: Cousins who got me drawing comics in a very young age, many animes with a feel of Dragonball Z-ish, watching/learning martial arts

So far my coloring and webcomic story helps my load of bad art. Im still on practicing mode, with mixing both rough sketching and basic anime styles.

Inspired by: Too many to name. Vyle, Viag, Hyung Tae Kim, Katsushiro Otomo (creator of Akira), and as good as all of the classic artist. And I'm inspired a lot by cultures such as the Asian or the Mayan and Egyptian ones.

Materials: regular 3H, HB and 4B pencil, 200gr paper, charcoal, G-nib inking pen, Wacom Intuos 2 tablet.

Software: PS CS, OC3, Painter. I usually have all three programs up and running when CG-ing :) Each has a particular treat I need.

Inspired by: I try to get inspired by everything. I do try to learn from some Art Nouveau, traditional Japanese woodcuts and patterns, Jim Dine, Hyung-tae Kim, CLAMP and so on.

Materials: My sketchbook, mechanical pencil, eraser mainly. I use almost anything, depending on the picture. [Except for acrylic paint. Acrylic paint and myself do not mix.]

Inspired by: I don't really have any inspirations. Yoshitaka Amano is by far my favorite artist but I would never try to draw like him. It would just be wrong.
