Let's Play MAFIA!

I've run this by in iParty a few times, and I'm kinda bored, so I say I bring this cool MB trend over to the VAA. Ever played Cry Wolf? Ever play Mafia offline? Well this is a lot like it, but before, I'll go ahead and give you in introduction:

Here (http://www.sitesled.com/members/mikeburnfire/mafiascum04.swf) is a Flash-based introduction to the game, which we will play over a message board.

The game consists of two groups, the town and the mafia. Each day, everyone votes to lynch someone, killing that player and revealing their role. At night, some players may have special abilities, including the mafia.

Each night, the mafia (http://www.mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Mafia) may conspire together and kill a town member. The mafia wins when they comprise 50% of the town.

The town (http://www.mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Town) may have roles to counteract the mafia. For this introductory game, I will tell you we are playing with one doctor and one cop. (http://www.mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Cop) A doctor (http://www.mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=Doctor) can protect a player from mafia death each night. A cop can investigate a player each night, determining their role. They are the town's best friend, though it is in their best interest to keep their roles a secret. The town wins when all mafia members are dead.

Sound fun? Sound at the very least interesting? Don't get it? It's fine, this is the first of hopefully a few games, so this will test the waters.

We will be playing with either 9 or 12 players, starting tonight. State your wish to play by replying to this thread. When the game is full, I will PM or AIM you your role (I will be the moderator, thus not playing).

When the game is full, we will begin and I'll explain some more in-depth rules. Hopefully this works out and isn't too confusing. Let's go!

Do not talk outside the thread about the game unless your role states you may.

THE HAMMER HAS BEEN DROPPED

Quickly, the town realizes that there is scum in their midst. Some of the people are old friends, some are new faces. Within moments, a decision is made.

"It's tradition," YdocNameloc speaks, his arms folded over his chest, "Chinomi is always the first to die."

Morbidity aside, the town takes the words under consideration. Chinomi screams out at Nikki Wright, but the words go unheard as she is led to the gallows. Rikka pulls the latch and Chinomi hangs for a few moments before finally going limp.

CHINOMI, TOWN MEMBER AND COP, IS DEAD.

When the town awakens, you gather in the center to see what is what. You notice quickly, however, that someone is missing. You can't remember who. Ah, yes! TheFuchsNoir is gone.

You quickly get to his house to see where he's gone off to, but you find, to your horror, that the house is a mess. Tables are overturned, papers are strewn about, and TheFuchsNoir lies motionless on the floor in a pool of his own blood. He struggled, but lost, stabbed multiple times.

TheFuchsNoir, vanilla town member, has been killed.

It is now day two. With 7 alive it takes 4 to lynch.

Well... I was gone a while but I came back... looked over the posts and...

THE HAMMER

Kei, following Chinomi's lead, points at Nikki, exclaiming "Her! HER!"

Nikki scoffs and the town follows suit.

"Kei's been totally suspicious," someone cries.

"Yeah, he needs to go. He's gotta be scum!" yells someone else.

Kei panics and, as the town advances, Kei runs off, refusing to be lynched. He runs inside his house, looking for something to protect himself with as the door caves in. Kei topples a bookshelf as he jumps out the window, rolling to protect his fall. Kei jumps away only to be met with a grim reality - the town is in the middle of nowhere. There's nowhere to run.

As he thinks this, it's all too soon before the town is upon him, binding and gagging him. As he is carried to the gallows, a solitary tear rolls down his cheek, scarring the wooden hangman. Amby pulls the lever and the latch opens, breaking Kei's neck instantly.

NIGHT TWO IS OVER.

The town gathers together again in the morning, their paranoia worsening, the fears growing. Again, it seems someone is missing. Both Ydoc and Erica are missing. How strange, the town wonders.

Heading to Erica's house, nothing is found. Her place seems undisturbed, as if she had never been there at all. Confused, the town makes their way to Ydoc's house on the other end of town. Rikka and Fairuza lead the pack as Nikki and Amby take the rear.

As they arrive at Ydoc's, the find a horrible sight. Erica's body is lying outside, her throat slit from behind. Rikka and Fairuza panic; Rikka bends over in shock.

ERICA, TOWN DOCTOR, IS DEAD

Ydoc quickly emerges from his home, a butcher's apron on, covered in blood. He holds a small scalpel in hand.

Turning to run, Rikka and Fairuza find only the solemn Amby and Nikki standing in their way, their own knives glistening in the sunlight.

"Guess they were right," Nikki smiles, "Canadian intuition or some shit."

Nikki jams her knife into Fairuza's gut and Amby follows suit on Rikka. Both fall to the ground, hunched over, finally breathing their last.

Ydoc pulls off his apron.

"Jeeze, a little easy, don't ya think?" he laughs before going into his house to clean up.

GAME OVER: MAFIA WINS
