Hi everyone!

I was introduced to this board through a friend of mine who has been involved in fan dubbing for a while now. Mostly Transformers projects. My name is Daniel Ross, and I'm a full time SAG/AFTRA Actor and Voice Over Artist. Feel free to drop by my webpage and sign my guestbook.

I look forward to having some fun here with you all.

I'll borrow this thread, so that both your friend and you are introduced accordingly.

I am that friend, and both Mouth04 and I have been doing fan dubs for Transformers since April 2003. We're both heavy Transformer fans, Daniel being resident at the Allspark http://www.allspark.com while I live and rule at http://www.ntfa.net.

Our first project was to dub, under Brandon Williams' rule, the Japanese exclusive Transformers series called Beast Wars Neo (a series that took place, along with Beast Wars Second, during the original BW season break between number 2 and 3). 5 whole episodes dubbed so far, with the sixth (and probably last, due to encode issues) coming.

In December 2003, I decided to dub the only original Transformers episode that never got an English voicetrack. The episode is called "Scramble City", and is a first TF generation continuity mess-up, but still works without Japanese dialogue. Mouth did excellent incarnations of Jazz and Starscream, along with the narrator voice. The dub was a huge success among transfandom, and is probably the most popular ever to be conceived.

Shortly after that, we did the same thing to a series called "Transformers Zone", which only had one episode (so it didn't take too long to dub). Now, we're working on multitple projects, which I will list down here:

Beast Wars Neo FDP* (5 + 1 episodes)
Scramble City FV** (1 episode, I produced)
Zone FV (1 episode, I produced)
Headmasters Mega_Dub (2 episodes)
Victory FDP (3 episodes with the fourth one coming real soon, I am currently producing and aiming at releasing all 32 eps)
Beast Wars Second The Movie FDP (not yet dubbed or cast, but both Mouth and I got some soft places in the audition line 8) )

Other non-fan-dub projects is..

Scramble City 2
Along with Luke Gemma, who animates, I am producing our own sequel to the never solved cliffhanger that we see in the first episode. Flash-animated episode, probably finished around Christmas, and will be about 10 minutes long.

Transformers Evolution
A 3D animator, Kevin, is doing his own TF series with Lightwave. I am the voice director of the project, and both Mouth and I will lend our work to the pot. Soon to reach episode 1 climax!

Transformer Radioplays
Not even started or named, but Mouth and I are going to produce a two voice actor radioplay with TF character in it. That's all I think...

Besides of fan dubbing, I've been studying theater for three years, done some translation work for He-Man on Swedish Television, written two quizes for Swedish Armada DVD's and other stuff. Daniel's resume is available at his own homepage.

Nice huh?

Ooo pros, so you like earn a living of this stuff?

My own stuff is kind of poor mainly product voice overs, got a film role now so that's all cool.

Out of interest where do you source your sound scores from for your original productions?

Not exactly sure what you're talking about, but our dubs are made on Japanese series imported via suitable formats. Then we use original soundtracks (which I've bought) to make the fan dubs so close as possible to the real thing, and then we finalize it with our own sound effects (we mainly use Sounddogs.com for more normal stuff) and our voices along with other fans' stuff.

We haven't begun at all with the radioplays yet, but both Scramble City 2 and Evolution is being animated by fellow Transfans, no music or sound effects is planned for those projects yet.

Let me share some work from me and Daniel, that we did earlier today. As we both auditioned for some Turtles thing, we recorded some funny sessions with us making fun of ourselves.
