Gaspeh! Yes, that's right.... a group song!

This was part of Cassie's singing group project that never really got too far off the ground. She let me mix it as practice, and though she did her own mix that got lost... so I finally dug this up out if its grave and am posting it.

It was my first ever attempt at a group mix, so sorry if it's not terribly great.

Without further ado... Toki no Nagare ni mi wo Makase (http://www.voiceacting.co.uk/nanuri/GroupSong.mp3).

In order of appearance:

Byron (Ashke)
Nanuri
Nikki
Mizura

Please comment leaving CC for both singers and mixer. It's helpful ^_^

Okay, here we go!

Mixing I found no real complaints here.. For the singers~

Ashke - Your solo was kinda..i dunno... to me it sounded like you were trying too hard. Then again i think it's cuz I'm picky w/ pronounciation (>.>) The choruses was less noticible.

Nanuri - I think I liked you best during all the chorus parts XD Tho sometimes i think you went too....whatchacallit...dramatic? (o.0; wrong word..) compared to the rest o' us. Overall great like always. :D

Nikki - Pretty! XD But I noticed you said the words wrong a few times >.>; Otherwise me likes. Wee!

Mizura - AGH. I SOUND LIKE A TIRED FREAK. End.

Perfectly lovely! I had to listen to it several times for critiqueing purposes, and I didn't mind at all. ;)

First things first-

Mixing by Nanuri- Nearly NO problems here. No one was too loud, too quiet, no one seemed overpowered by the others, and timing was absolutely perfect. The only things I would've liked would have been a nice karaoke instead of a vocal cut (but I'm aware that this probably was not possible) and maybe a tiny bit of reverb to everyone's recording could've improved on the proffesional-sounding quality and also covered those faint traces of the original vocalists in the BG.

Byron- You started out smoothly, and as the song progressed, got better and better, and sounded more natural. You provided perfect male accompanient for the girls, too.

Nanuri- I am so envious of your vibrato... I <3 it. You and Byron sounded absolutely fantastic together. I hate perfect performances, because then I really have nothing to say... >.>

Nikki- Dammit, more beautiful voices. You so shoulda gone further in American Idol. ;) Your voice is melodic and charming, and you did fabulous. I can think of nothing helpful to say.

Mizura- Of all the girls, your voice sounded the most mature, and you provided the diversity needed to really complete the perfect song. And another damn flawless performance.

Damn you all! I mean... GREAT JOB! ;3 <333

Thank you for your comment. I think you mean I kind of stood out from the rest of you due to something I did with my voice or whatever in some parts, and you're absolutely right. Glad someone else noticed this ^_^ but even gladder that you like the mixing!

Byron - I adore your voice in this, really. Being the only guy in a group is kinda hard to pull off, but you did it well.. your voice sounded really nice and didn't really overpower anyone. Personally, I really liked your solo part, but it sounded a little shakey in the beginning.

Magali (both singing AND mixing): Your voice in this was beautiful, one of my favorite performances from you by far. As for your mixing, there was one place where I could tell was a little off, but it's not so noticeable as to ruin the song.. your mixing is getting better and better. <3

Nikki - moving right along...

Mizura - Don't be so hard on yourself, I love how your voice sounds- soft, but not too soft and just.. yeah. Really pretty. I couldn't tell that you were "Tired" as you say you were. :P Again, one of my favorite voices in the group.

well, this started off a little rough, but it picks up and sounds lovely. I have a hard time picking out people, except Ashke, so I won't comment about each individual person... but I'll say that I thought the mixing was nice overall. There were parts where the singers weren't together, and might could have used a little editing to fix that up.

Everyone sounded really nice in the end parts... it flowed really well and everyone blended good (I assume everyone was singing at the end, but I could be wrong ~_~)

I'd really like to get this group started again if you guys are game XD You all sound perfect together. XXD

There were some parts where people sounded a little off-time, but other than that it was great.

Ooh, this was really nice. ^^

Mixing~ No real complaints here.

Byron/Ashke- The beginning was a little rough, but it evened out. You have a really nice voice and it worked well with the song.

Nanuri- You know I love your voice. If you don't, then you should. =3 Most of the songs I've heard you sing were soprano and it's nice to hear something different. Your voice blends with the song with ease and sometimes it seems you have more emotion than some people. ^.~

Nikki- I've always been a fan of you--singing and speaking. Your voice is sweet and smooth and fits so well.

Bah, everyone's voices are perfect for this song!

Mizura- Your voice is like a lullaby. It's, like Nikki said, soft, but not too. You gave a nice performance and I have no complaints.

This song was very nice--*saves*--and everyone fit so well together. Keep up the awesome work, everyone!

I can't really add to the comments and critiques given so far. Everyone did a wonderful job, including you, Nanuri, especially as your first 'group mix'.

Mizura has performed lines for me in the past, and I've heard Nikki talk on iParty, but have never heard Byron or Nanuri at all! I was really curious as to what you both sounded like, and now I can cherish this great quartet for ever ^_^

I'm sure we'd all love to hear more from you guys if you decide to do anything else like this. Also, personally, I'd be honoured if any or all of you would consider performing for a Ghost In The Shell mod I'm a part of working on (Mizura will know about this). If you're interested or want any more info, please do get in touch.

Again, well done with this song. I don't know the original, which probably made it even more of a treat =)

First off. Bravo the the singers *applause*, great voices, great singings, and great mixing.!!! If you think i am lying, then you are wrong!

Well, I can't really add anything since all the replies above said it all.

Though,. as everyone had mentioned, i agree that the beginning was a bit rough. And the first group singing part were a bit melee, but that's totally understandable. It's hard to get everyone to sing at exactly the same rate, and you did so well covering up those flaws. Nice use of volume control as well. Hmm...

THat's basically it, i am sorry that i can't criticize anymore cuz there isn't much flaws to talk about. =P

Told you it's great. Again, you guys sang so well!

Wow... that's a nostalgic song...
*listening and singing along* ^^

i think my favorite out of the four voices were Nanuri-san and Mizura-san. ^^ ... i'm a sucker for non-squeaky, mid-to-low female range... *swoons*

As far as mixing... i think it was nice overall, but there was a certain spot where one of the voices came out louder than the other, making it stick out ... (if that was the intent, then please disregard this ^^; )

Great job! ^^

So yeah... Nanuri told me to.

Byron: Unfortunately I think your solo was your weakest point in this song. Your Japanese pronouncation does sound a little more forced than usual too... which strikes me as odd considering I've heard you sing in Japanese before. You sound great in the group parts, though and easily got past the rough start.

Nanuri (singing): Wow... your voice is so recognizable throughout the whole song... really stands out from the others. All I can really say is that song is REALLY good for your voice.

Nanuri (mixing): Um... some issues with timing in group parts, but it works out quite nicely anyway. One issue to address... Nikki was practically mixed out. She was the only one I couldn't hear in the group part ^^;;.

Nikki: It's hard to judge your overall performance because it's so hard to distinguish your voice in the groups parts. However your solo is quite nice, there's really nothing I can criticise.

Mizura: Gorgeous... Nanuri sent me this song a month or so ago to show me how good a singer you are and let me tell you I was very impressed the first time... and still... still I'm going "wow". Your voice is gorgeous... really.

Awwww... thank you all SO much for your collective CC. I love CC. I feed on it.

Additionally, I think I know which parts you're talking about, and I agree. Crimson, you brought up an interesting point. I nearly mixed Nikki out in some parts cause when I mixed, I used her first, then the others on top of her. Oops.

...I am so doing this for karaoke next year >D

Nikki- Dammit, more beautiful voices. You so shoulda gone further in American Idol. Your voice is melodic and charming, and you did fabulous. I can think of nothing helpful to say. See, now I thought this just proved *why* I didn't make it further than I did on American Idol. >D But thank you!

Nikki- I've always been a fan of you--singing and speaking. Your voice is sweet and smooth and fits so well. Thank you. Glad you like it. ^.^

Now for the truth.. since I'm too nice to let her say that. >D;; I, actually, had some issues with the chorus - had to redo it, like, 6 times.. so.. she mixed me lower so you couldn't really hear my mistakes. ^.^;

Thank you all for your wonderful comments, though. :D I'm glad you enjoyed the song, and some of you helped me for future song-related stuff. :D

I made Nanuri send this to me. I was really impressed actually! The mixing was good and considering you were all probably recording at home with crappy mics, you all sounded lovely. I didn't much like the BG music though, you deserve a full piece orchestra not tinny synthesized stuff. :P

I can't really comment on individuals as it was hard to pick you all out, except for Byron of course, who I always enjoy listening to.

Good job guy and girls.

Incredible singing you guys! ^^ Mixing sounds great, Nanuri. I hope to hear more of you guys singing together in the future if possible.
