Hi All VAs (Female and Male),

I am looking for a narrator for my latest film project (untitled at the moment),
At the moment I am undecided whether to go for a female or male narrator, at the moment I'm just going to decide on how the voice sounds. The sound I'm looking for is just a very 'epic' and 'smooth' narrative voice that is very clear and with very good pronounciation (some of the lines will sound quite poetic), so if you have a very heavy accent you probably won't get the part.

This is a british project and will be premiered in a local cinema (Oxford), but it will then be distrubted on various short film sites and youtube, and a DVD copy of the film will be sent to the chosen VA.

Here is the beginning, please read out the whole thing in your audition, obviously you can pause between paragraphs, and submit several 'speeds' if you feel it necessary.

Please send to: samoncreationsuk@gmail.com

Thanks,
Samo

Audition:

In fields of green is where their dreams end.
The dreams of our hero and of our heroine.
They lost the battle, the battle of hearts.
Theirs was a dream of a life-long love, of blissful happiness, and starlit romance.
And just like any dream, it began when a head hit a pillow, and eyes were shut tight.

In a fort of feathers and cotton, our hero and our heroine commence battle, in the style adopted by most infantile tribesmen as they begin their struggle in the procession of life.
The ages of our hero and heroine lie within the mid-late regions of adolescence, therefore their fighting style is one which they should have overcome, and by now they should have swapped pillow and sheet for steel and fire.

The battle of hearts started when innocent curiosity became raw passion.
The flame that started with a spark.
A spark that started when two souls collided.
And here begins our story, with the spark that led to the flame.

You mention it is a 'British project'. Does this mean you want a British accent?

Not particularly, I don't want any accent in particular, very generic accent really. So not heavily american, or really posh british or jamaican or indian or whatever. If the voice sounds good, then they will get the part. Think of most narrators of fantasy films, something like that, but a little bit more down to earth. Mystical, but...homely. A good storytelller would probably be a better way of describing it.

Hope that answers your question,

Samo

Thank you all for your auditions those that have sent them in,
Keep them coming up until the end of next week 'Friday 6th April'.
I may use two narrators, one female and one male, had a few of both, so anyone else considering auditioning, do so!

Thanks,
Samo
