Oh yeah! "Rival Schools" and "Darkstalkers" come out next month, and those look good. Hope they're as good as Street Fighter, but not as bad as Megaman or Devil May Cry.

Also, Satanslittlepenguin, if you're old enough (They don't sell them on newstands and comic shops are supposed to card), Marvel's new Punisher series has the final fate of Microchip. But the series is in the MAX imprint, which means it's for 16+. Pretty darkly hillarious book, though.

I hardly ever read American comics anymore. I guess I tired of the whole super hero thing, the lack of endings and the expensive nature of the hobby. The last thing I read that I really enjoyed was Sin City. Just some great art and writing, I was hooked from page one.
So, anyone have any recommendations for stuff that doesn't have super heroes, has an ending, and is already collected in graphic novel form? I'd really appreciate it.

We don't call 'em graphic novels anymore, unless they didn't appear in serialized monthly format in the first place. They're "trade paperbacks (TPBs)." : P

- JEFF SMITH'S BONE (My number 1 pick. I'd reccomend this book to my mom it rocks so much)
- Maus
- Empire (Just Supervillains! All the heroes are dead!)
- Fax from Saraejevo
- 30 Days of Night
- Preacher
- Sandman
- More Sin City
- Runaways (My favorite book out right now. It's not finished yet. Final issue is next month. The trade paperbacks will probably be out in a few months. The TPBs are out in manga-sized digest forms).

Also, these aren't closed to being finished yet, but I heartily reccomend these non-superhero books, which you can get the first couple volumes of:

- Y: The Last Man (My second-favorite book out right now, written by the same writer as Runaways. First few TPBs out now.)
- Planetary
- The Goon

HUZZAH! SOMEONE WHO *AGREES* WITH ME! *Dances about in joy*

On a random off-note... I used to pull really really hard for them to get together. How odd am I? XD

Yah, I'm old enough. I have been reading The Punsher since the late 80's... wow I just dated my self... I'm ONLY 21!!!

Side note: I have been following it, but thanks anyway :D

- 30 Days of Night: Return to Barrow

YES! I love 30 Days of Night. They are actually making a movie out of it, and I can't wait. It would be a perfect horror flick!

As for my favorite, I don't have any issues, but I have been searching for a while. Nothing seems to come up, but it is The Crow (original series by James O'Barr). The first movie is great, and the comics are supposed to be even better. :)

Never been a fan of the Crow, personally, but I cannot wait for the 30 Days of Night flick. It's a great concept.

Penguin: Glad you're keeping up with it. It's really great.

I used to get anything they actually translated here. Mostly Image/Top Cow ones, but then sales were low and some were cancelled and thus, import was the way to go. However, comic book store with imports is too far away for me :(

Mainly bought them to study various styles. Followed X-men (Holland had a merge of Uncanny + X-men an issue) until [spoiler:73a86b0789]Psylocke's death[/spoiler:73a86b0789].

So like I said earlier, stuff I got is mostly Image/Top Cow, but an old collector gave me his comic books, including _many_ Marvel comics.

I loved the Age of Apolcalypse story. And Battle Chasers. Sad to see it get such an sudden end due to Mad's busy schedule :E
