Detective Conan- Anticlimax: The Ending That Should NEVER Be
Well, I’m probably diving head-first into producing which I really shouldn’t be doing, but I had this idea and it wouldn’t go away, so here it is.
Basically a girl I’ve been friends with for like my entire life is about to reach her fifth anniversary of writing fanfiction, and since she loves it so much and has a lot of fans I thought I should do something special for her. Then I realized I now had access to tons of talented voice actors ^^.
I chose one of my personal favorite stories of hers and turned it into a radioplay. It has parts for 9 males, 6 females, 2 unspecified, and several babbling fangirls. I will hopefully have it done in time for her anniversary (May 30th, so for a first timer I can hopefully pull it off) and will post it for her as a surprise and also here since it’s nice to hear how your own production came out. About the only nice benefits I can offer is that you’ll make my friend very very happy and most of the Conan fanfiction base will probably hear this once it’s done.
The title of the story basically explains everything. This is exactly the ending that no one would ever want to see on Detective Conan, but it’s just so darn funny you have to love it. There are lots of in series jokes, much weirdness, a good hunk of random, and overall crack. A few characters have to swear (Kaito, Conan, and Ran if I remember correctly), so be ready for that if you’re auditioning.

NARRATOR (Shika Megumi, u/s huntress)

The Narrator is basically playing the part of my friend, the original author of this. There are some portions of the narration that I just couldn’t work into the dialogue but I felt the need to leave in, so that is basically her purpose.
She is enjoying writing this story and knows how incredibly messed up and funny it is. She has a lot of long speeches, so be ready.
KAITO KUROBA/KAITOU KID (Shawn Gage, u/s ShintarouInuzuka)

Kaito is a brilliant magician who leads a double life as a Phantom Thief (called a Kaitou in Japanese. And yes, they are pronounced the same) trying to find a jewel called the Pandora Gem. His father was the original thief and earned the nickname of “Kid”, but he was murdered by a mysterious organization for looking for the same jewel. Kaito’s goal is to find the jewel and avenge his father’s death. However, he has a bit of a problem since, as a famous thief, the police are always on his tail. He is especially trouble by Inspector Nakamori, who chased Kid in his father’s day and is also the father of his life long probably will be his girlfriend someday Aoko.

He is actually seventeen year old detective Shinichi Kudo, who was shrunk into a child’s form by a strange poison given to him when he was caught spying on an illegal trade conducted by the so called “Black Organization”. Conan is now living undercover in the house of his lifelong crush, Ran Mouri, whose father is an out of work detective. However, with the help of a few inventions from Dr. Agasa, he can still solve murders under Kogoro’s guise, making the usually bumbling man famous, hoping that through him he can catch some leads on the people who did this to him. Only three other people know his secret right now, and Ran has come very close several times.
In the course of this incredibly messed up ending to the series, he practically goes insane.

Inspector Nakamori has been chasing Kaitou Kid for nearly two decades, not counting the time when the thief mysteriously vanished. The job weighs on him a lot, especially since although he can figure out nearly every move of Kid’s, he can never catch him. He is also known for his somewhat colorful language at times (although he doesn’t swear much in this).

Gin is more or less the main villain (of evil) of the series and is the one responsible for shrinking Shinichi. He’s a member of the Black Organization and basically just evil. And has long blonde hair. His part in this is relatively small, but the scene he’s in practically stole the entire story when it was originally posted, so it’s not a bad role to look into.

Ran is lifelong friends with Shinichi (and thinks of him as more), but she’s more or less clueless that he’s living right under her nose now; literally. There have been many instances when she’s come close to blowing his cover as Conan, but something always happens to make her change her mind. She’s generally a very sweet and nurturing person, but she’s also the karate champion at her high school and she will hurt you if you get on her bad side. Seriously. And she does get angry in this script.
HEIJI HATTORI (ShintarouInuzuka, u/s Shawn Gage)

Heiji is considered by many to be the western (Japan) equivalent of Shinichi. He is also a brilliant high school detective, and although he never originally met Shinichi in person before he met him as Conan, he quickly figured out that the two were one and the same. However, when it comes to social situations he’s a complete idiot. He constantly gets into fights with Kazuha and has a very bad habit of referring to Conan as “Kudo.” Apparently he’s only smart when he’s solving crimes.

If Heiji is Shinichi’s western counterpart, then Kazuha is Ran’s. Kazuha is generally very friendly to everyone except Heiji or anyone that messes with him. In fact, the two usually fight like an old married couple (although there’s nothing like that in the script). She’s also very strong and can look after herself, but she’s still a typical, kind teenage girl.
ANCHORMAN (PhaeThorn, u/s deuceloosely)

He’s described in the story as greasy-looking and talking smoothly. Basically your average news announcer that’s just reading off the facts.

Aoko is Kaito’s childhood friend (have you noticed that all of the guys have girls like this?), however, she despises Kaitou Kid since he always makes her father look bad. This could lead to some potential mental anguish if she ever found out Kaito’s secret... In their regular high school lives, she tends to chase Kaito around with brooms and mops whenever she gets mad at him.

As it looks, basically a group of girls that love Kaitou Kid and go to all of his heists to watch him. They scream and squeal a lot. I really don’t have any audition lines per se, but if you’re interested in providing some of these sounds let me know.

A head figure in the Black Organization (i.e. an evil person).
GUARD (Kimeru)

A prison guard.
