Yoshi Character Reel #1 (EDIT w/ BONUS CLIP)

Hello People...a long long time ago, like when I first started, I attempted to make a sampler...but sucked at it. SInce then I have mixed one other thing, a monologue, which people liked ^^. This is my Third attempt at mixing things together. It is a voice sampler, running at 1:10 secs, but It will probably be edited for time later.

Cute. Some of the voices were really different... but a few of the more monotone or narrative lines were very very similar.

Still, VAs are hired for being their own sound, not many thousands of others.

Cute, but the mixing's a bit choppy.

NOTE: NANURI IS PMSING. THIS IS A VERY GOOD REVIEW GIVEN THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES. I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10 normally, so no worries Yosh.

yeah, I like too! *waves hands over head*. There were a few that felt a bit rushed though. THe intent was to speak quickly, but the articulation dropped and so it was harder for me to tell what was being said. Other than that (and it was mostly the first cut in there), this was really great.

you've got a great range and nice quality of acting. So i say very good!
just a couple parts of the mixing near the begining was a a little rough in some spots but it was a very nice demo overall ^_^

My first criticism is you open with a narrator line... charming that it's your natural voice, but honestly... that line is somewhat boring sounding, do you think that'll attract attention and keep people listening? (especially important for voice reels that are going off to agents)

I also think a few clips go on a bit too long... after you hear too much of one voice listeners get bored. One thing you should think about in a voice reel is displaying short clips of as many voices as possible.

My last criticism will be that the end is week because all the voices there are very similar. If you add any voices, but some in near there to separate those same-sounding clips.

Otherwise, I think it's pretty good. Mixing of SFX and transition between clips was well handled.
