Anime Expo 2004: VAA meeting

So some of us are interested in meeting each other for the first time (or second, or third) and what not, which day/time works out best for you? And if there's anything specific you feel up for doing (lunch, dinner, photoshoot, etc.) do feel free to mention it. ;)

VAA Meeting:

Saturday
10 am - outside Coco's
Breakfast brunch

*looks at schedule* Well, Saturday is reliant on how well I do or don't do for the Karaoke and AX Idol contests. If I progress in Karaoke, I'll be stuck there in the afternoon, and same for AX Idol in the evening. If I don't make it in Karaoke, I'll be heading to the Voice Acting Panel in the afternoon, so perhaps we could have a meal before then and go there. It just depends.

EEEK!! *hides from the Denny's monsters* There's supposedly a good Chinese restaurant in the vacinity. The name of it though, I've got no idea...

-Ming's Delight (W Katella Ave - which is one of the closest places to the con)
-Wok In & Grand China are on Chapman - which would require more walking)

I've never been to any of these places, I'm using the Restaurant Guide from last year's AX. So...I'm not sure how expensive these places are and whatnot.

The closest places seem to be: Ming's Delight, Tiffy's Family Restaurant, Cappucino Cafasia, Hansa House (Smorgasbord), Jolly Roger (most expensive I'm sure), Subway, Baker's Square, Carl's Jr., Anaheim Grill & Sushi, Buca di Beppo, Del Taco, and Grand China, Tacos Mi Pueblo. Hope this helps XD.

Ming's Delight sounds good! I'd prefer it to be somewhere close. Also, I'm in the karaoke contest too so I hope that in the case I make it into the finals, it doesn't conflict with this. >.< Need to set up a specific time too, 12pm, 1pm? And a place to meet of course, whether that be at the restaurant itself or one of the hotel lobbies or something.

What time should this meeting be? 12:00 pm is a bad time for me, since there's a gathering I'm supposed to attend. Maybe 2pm? From what I understand, there's not a lot of big events happening during that time of the day.

Boy this is tough. All the days/times don't look good, just because there seems to be so many good things going on! Sheeh, all the days look tough lol.

But I think overall, even with the masq on Sunday, I think that's a good day. To make things easier, you could even make it a breakfast thing or a brunch thing. *shrugs*. I'm just not sure.

Let's see. For sat, 2pm is the cosplay.com gathering, but right after (around 3pm) kinda looks good. And we could all come back to the VA panel after that ^^, Or maybe even meet up at the panel and eat after? Kinda hard to say.

For food though, if you want close, Coco's looks like the closest, and it's cheap too; kinda like a denny's but better.

I say just make a set time and day and stick with it. It's getting close now, and some people will be leaving, so if you set the date, time and location, then whoever can go will go ^^

10-11:30am - Seating for Yoko Ishida Concert
11:30-12:30 - Yoko Ishida Concert
1:00-2:00 - Marmalade Boy VA panel
2:00-5:00 - Karaoke Contest Semis and Finals
2:00 - Pop Shock Masquerade
2:30-4:30 - Voice Acting Panel
5:00-7:00 - Voice Acting Workshop
7:00-9:00 - AX Idol Seating
9:00-11:00 - AX Idol
9:00pm-2:00am - AX Dance

Maybe this will help and it will be easier than going back and forth to the pdf. I don't know about individual gatherings of course.

I'm up for Coco's as well. I haven't been there since my dad stopped being general manager from the place. ^^ Brunch sounds good...or maybe even earlier, anyone up for breakfast? I'm driving from home, I don't know if everyone will be too tired from Friday night to get up and get breakfast. But I was thinking, pre-con event starting since everyone has so much to do in the day. How about that, like around 9? Of course, this is just another one of many suggestions.

Hmm, 9am could work too. I wouldn't mind breakfast.. That is, if I can actually wake up. I am NOT a morning person X-x For saturday, I don't have anything planned until 11am, so that works good for me ^^

Generally speaking though, it's going to be really hard to get everyone who can go at the same time, as we all have different interests 'n stuff. So we'll just have to see how it goes ^^

I'm not a morning person, but for you guys I'd make an exception. XD Thank you for posting the schedule btw Chell. Seeing as how most everyone is busy in the mid-afternoon, dinner or breakfast would be the best route to go.

I'm proposing 10am for breakfast or 9:30 am.

And dinner, hmm, what's a good time for you guys. For me the best time would be between 7 and 11pm. Anime Idol's all good, but I don't think I'd sit through the entire thing (*shudders at last year's*). Hopefully it'll be a lot better this year.

Yeah, I think we should meet outside Coco's. I edited the front page with the main details. After I don't know, 10 minutes past, we'll just go inside. And I'll be wearing a furry yellow "Chocobo" costume with sequins, shouldn't be too hard to spot. ;)

I'm soooo happy and excited for you!! That's just awesome!!! You did really great for being nervous. I would have been extremely nervous too, but it would have shown in my lines too much if I had gotten the chance to do a line XD;;.
