I was very happy that Avenue Q won this year, but was shocked. I was very excited about Urinetown when we saw it 2 years ago but was thrilled when it won book, score, and director. I honestly thought that that is what Q was gonna get.

I thought that Wicked was gonna win because it was more typical of the Tony's. Infact, none of the big publications picked Avenue Q to win. It was shocking all around.

I'm just upset I couldn't have gone to Broadway Bares...John Tartaglia was stripping for charity. What a birthday present that would have been.

And as for C. Plummer...King Lear sucked. It really did. He was one of the only things going for it and he was really great, but against Mayes, he should not have even concidered writing a speech.

Anyway. I thought the Tony's was a great show this year. Did anyone else thing that the girl from Caroline, or Change sang poorly? It sounded like she was having an off night, but we couldn't tell if the character was supposed to sing like that or not. I wasn't impressed, but I believe in second chances when it comes to singing.

WOAH! I saw advertisements for Urinetown when I went to New York last April! You cannot imagine the amount of jokes that started with all the kids on the trip... lol

Augh. I just heard that Christopher Plummer and Stephen Schwartz both walked out of the Tony's after losing in their respective categories. >_< Christopher Plummer has a bit of a reputation for arrogance, but that's a bit unexpected coming from Schwartz. And Plummer's category wasn't even CONTESTED. I think just about everyone thought that Jefferson Mays was going to win.

Omg, Male Broadway drama queens... rofl. How pathetic... and not actually that unexpected. The difference between the Tony's and the Grammy's. XDDD

Totally agreed! She gave me a headache.
Everyone that performed that night seemed a little bit off. The only two that I would saw delivered flawless performances was Kristin Chenoweth and Donna Murphy. Lol, and as my voice teacher had to say, “Donna Murphy is usually always flawless. I mean, she’s so OLD and has been doing this so LONG that she is just use to it but now.”
