This is the audition thread for Final Fantasy Nine, the Radioplay. Basically, it's the game without the graphics! And all that mashing the X button and riding around on a Chocobo digging for treasure. :\

I'm looking for people to voice the cast, and since you don't have to sing... I'M EXPECTING THIS TO BE GOOD.

YOU HEAR ME?!? GOOD!!!!

hehe. That said, I don't own Final Fantasy and claim no rights to it and i'd be very, very stupid to try. Especially because I'd suck at making FF games, I promise you.


Some deadlines will be later than others, because we are going to be mixing and submitting this in installments (Segment 1, Segment 2, etc) instead of all at once. Therefore, if the character you are going for appears right away, the deadline will be much earlier than a character that doesn't even come in on the first disc.


When you send me your audition, please send it in an email titled FFIX Radioplay.

Please label your audition lines like this:

Please send all of the listed audition lines for your character.

Please zip all of your files into a folder with labeled with your VAA name.

Name and VAA Name, or just VAA name if you go by it.

A scholar who used to tutor Princess Garnet when she was a child. He is now studying in Treno.

Voice Type: Try a take of him by speaking normally, but holding your nose while you do so. He's kind of... I don't know, geeky? That might give the wrong impression. I don't know, have fun with it. If you have a completely different idea for him, go for it.

"Ah, Master Steiner. You must be quiet or you'll wake the shopkeeper.
But, Princess, what on earth are you doing here?"

"I traveled quite far in search of a sponsor for my research
after I departed Alexandria. I finally found one here in Treno.
You have grown into a fine young woman. I am pleased to see you again."




Sir Fratley
Freya's lost love. He no longer remembers his past. He was once a Burmecian Dragon Knight.

Voice Type: Just a normal, medium/medium-low voice. Open to interpretation.


"Freya, you say? I believe this is the first time we have met..."

"Freya, you're going to be fine. Trust your strength... and have faith in your destiny. Once I complete my journey around the world, I will return to Burmecia."

Final Fantasy IX!! My favorite Final Fantasy game!! *_* People always underestimate this game. >.< I confirmed that at the convention while I was crossplaying as Zidane. Sometimes I'd get a few, "Oh my god, Zidane!"'s, but other than that it was mostly, "And who're you supposed to be?" or "I don't recognize you at all." or "From the game with the sucky graphics?" It's not all about the graphics, people!! *jabjabjab* It was depressing. ;_;

Ahh, back on topic!!

I'd prefer not to critique anyone, since one interpretation of a character is no better than another, I simply prefer one more. If you have any questions about something specific, though, feel free to message me.





Can you post what the emotion is for each line it would help to know how the character is feeling.
I think most of them are pretty obvious, and I don't want to dictate and exact emotion, for that may dumb down something that someone might have actually read in a really complex manner before I labeled "Angry!!" or "Sad!!". If you need help with a specific line, contact me.
