Hi!

Well, I'd like to start this off by saying I'm not sure where this should go. Its a manga, so I assume it belongs in the library. But i've seen other manga related stuff in the Lounge. Oh well, if this is the wrong place, feel free to move it an fogive my stupidity!

Anyways, I just got done reading Volume 20. And as I finished it, i realized the final volume, 21, is all that is left. Even if I do have to wait 4 more months for it (December... -.-). It made me think back to when I first got into the manga and all the great memories along the way! It also reminded me that this chapter in my life is drawing near its end(Okay, maybe thats a bit extreme, but this manga is like apart of my life! Apart of my soul!! Maybe I am too obessed?).

I got into this manga a while back. I wasnt that into mangas until I realized i could rent Ranma 1/2 at the library. Shortly following it was Mars and then Kare Kano. At first, i didnt care for it. So i didnt read it in order. But I got further into it, I fell in love with it! The characters, the story, the struggles! It touched my heart in a way only Mars has done(Mars being my favorite manga).

Around volume 15, i was obessed. Because for the first time, i could trully relate to a manga character, Soichiro Arima. Every volume since, I have been brought to tears as his and his fathers past is told. And now, it brings nothing but tears to my eyes and an emptiness in my heart, to think that only one volume remains.

Now, I am curious to what others feel of this manga? I doubt its very popular. Since I couldnt find a single thread already about it. But there has to be others that love it as much as I! It ranks 2nd best shoujo of all time in my list. And that is because I am biased (Mars was the first Shoujo that made me cry and I was obessed with, and as many know, your first always holds the top spot).

I am done rambling for the moment. Lets hear everyone elses thoughts and opinions on the manga! Wether you like it or hate it, feel free to speak up!

This is my all-time favorite manga,
and I have a radioplay planned. I got sucked into it because a friend commented that she saw a character on an anime magazine that looked just like me. That turned out to be Yukino. I looked into it and started reading the manga.
I realized Yukino and I have a lot more in common than looks. It's actually a little embarrassing, but also kind of cool, to think that someone knows how people like me think and feel well enough to create that character. I've often been brought to tears reading it, and I've loved and admired it for so long that it pains me to think it's almost over. Finishing volume 20 was sad for me... really only one volume left? It's hard to believe.
In any case, this is a masterpiece of a manga. The story and characters are so real, and so accurately and truthfully portrayed with amazing attention to detail. Everyone should go read it right now.

You're my new favorite person X3

As you seem to have alot in common with Yukino, i noticed I had alot in common with Soichiro. Sure, i didnt have a huge tragic past or anything. But I felt when reading him, that some of his emotions and reasons behind things were like me. Its hard to really describe, but I feel a connection to Soichiro ^^.

I too have loved and admired it for so long. Another reason why tears come to my eyes when I think it's near its end T.T I had a hard time accepting it was near its end. So I looked it up, and the last volume in Japan was almost a year ago. And at the end of the 20th volume it does say its the final volume. But I have a hard time accepting things like that, so I usually look into it...

And I couldnt describe it any better than you when saying its a masterpiece.

(I also can see its popular since I got the LAST volume in the store! They had like... 20 issues of Furuba volume 14 in the back, but none on Kare Kano volume 20...)

EDIT:
Oh, and I forgot to mention, I TOTALLY look forward to your radio play on Kare Kano!^^

I started reading at when volume 3 came out. I had some cash on me so I bought Paradise Kiss vol 1 and Kare Kano vol 1, I fell in love with both stories and it killlllled me having to wait til the following Monday before my dad could drive me to the bookstore so I could collect the rest.

Loved the series ever since, I'll be sad when it ends.

Playing Asaba is fun too. :D

I love Kare Kano!

I didn't know there were only twenty volumes. In fact, I thought it was still being produced! XP

I feel like I can relate to Hideaki Asaba. I'm weird like that, I guess.

Anyway, I actually watched the anime first. I loved it. This was before I even started reading manga.

My collection of the manga is kind of scattered about, though. I have 1-6 then 9-16. I couldn't find 7 and 8, but I knew that the anime encompassed volumes 1-8, so I was like "screw it" and got 9-16. I really, REALLY have to get the rest.

I wish I was as totally and completely sexy as Asaba. ;___; XP
