Alright, I've seen a google search game......Now I want to do a search game.....But this one is going to be a spooky contest, which is just in time for all of you who camp.....The objective is to find the creepiest TRUE ghost story.....Here's the criteria:
You should make sure that there are multiple similar accounts of the ghost's appearances.(Like when and & how it shows up, what it does when it appears, etc.)
Make sure it's SCARY...really scary!!!!!
Give a short history of the ghost's life if you can.
So, let's get scary, folks!!!!!!!

Hm... I know these real stories from my other forum, I'll go find one! XD
"I'm really really REALLY bored, so I decided I'd tell you all a story about something that happened to me once long ago, if you choose to believe this or not, all I can say is that it happened and I am not lying.
Background: My mother's family all live in Singapore and when we go there we stay with them. My family stays in HDB flats in a place called Lagoon View (they no longer live there for reasons similar to this story). Anyways that is the basic geographic background.
When we were staying in this flat, I was little maybe only 10 or so, but I remember that trip very well. My grandmother had died on our previous trip there and now there were four people living in the flat including the maid.
At the front of the flat was the living area and kitchen and at the back of the flat were 3 bedrooms. My aunty lived in one, my uncle and his wife in the other and the empty room where me and my family stayed used to be my grandmother's room.
Now, everything is fine, and nothing has ever happened to us in that flat before...but then again, we have never stayed in that room, my grandmother's room. At first everything was fine, as kids my brother and I were adventurous and had tonnes of fun, playing, going shopping, watching funny T.V but then something started to go wrong.
After a little while, my brother and I started becoming sick, but we had no symptoms of anything regular. We both became lethargic and were both just feeling horrible, then one day it got worse.
I was feeling sick so I went to the bathroom in my grandmothers room while everyone was eating dinner. The bathroom isn't very interesting just cream tiles and nothing out of the ordinary...except it's atmosphere. My brother and I only discussed this reacently, but BOTH of us felt uneasy in that toilet. Once you were in that bathroom all sound seemed to disappear and there was just a feeling of fear in the air, needless to say neither of us stayed in that bathroom for extended periods of time.
So there I was feeling sick and sitting on the toilet in the weird bathroom when I hear a knocking on the door, naturally I thought that someone wanted to come in or check on me so I said "I'll be out in a minute!"
The knocking stopped, for about 5 seconds, then it started again, and it really just sounded like someone was knocking on the door, so again I said "Just a sec!!" I was getting pretty pissed off...well...as pissed of as a ten year old can get.
Then the knocking got louder until it was pounding....then I realised I couldn't hear ANYTHING outside the door, I couldn't hear my noisy family and it was dead silent except for the pounding. Horrified I despertaely wanted to get out, the air was thick and the pounding was so loud now it sounded like it was in my head, the door was shaking from the impacts and I the pounding just got worse. I couldn't stand it anymore, I jumped off the toilet pulled up my pants and flung the bathroom door open...
nothing, there was no one there. That feeling of dread came back, the hair all ove my body stood up as I stared at the empty room. I bolted out of the bathroom screaming and crying. I ran straight to my family and screamed at whoever was banging on the door. Then I accused my brother of playing tricks on me (he was known to play tricks on me).
My family stared and me and asked me what happened and I told them about the banging. They all looked at each other and said that no one had left the table. If I wasn't freaked out before, NOW i was. I screamed and cried, then aparently I fell to the floor and started vomiting violently.
This was the first incident in that room.
After that I wouldn't go in there by myself at night.
Then the second incident happened. I went to the room by myself in the day. I dont know what I was doing, but I was looking out the window (the window had no grating or bars). And I remember looking at a little shrine on the ground, I was drawn to it, I wanted to see it closer, all I could see was the shrine, and we were on the 8th floor but I swear I could see every little bit of it and I wanted to get closer. I was feeling enthralled by the little shrine and I desperatly wanted to see it closer. Suddenly I was yanked back violently from the window by my mother, she was almost in tear and asking/frantically yelling what I was doing. I had no idea what she was talking about. I said I was just looking at the little shrine.
She just rushed me out of the room and was crying and crying.
That night when my parents thought I was asleep they were talking to each other. It was then that I learned that I had climbed the shelf beneath the window , and when my mother came, I hand been standing on the shelf, leaning out the window, and my eyes when she pulled me down, hadn't been dark brown, but blue.
It was then decided that my brother and I would move out of that room into my aunty's room. And after my brother and I wern't sick anymore and we got better, but my mother never allowed us back in that room.
I only reacently learned that the reason my mother had believed my every word, was because one night, when she was sleeping she awoke suddenly and looked at my dad who was sleeping on the bed.....and the bed was on fire....but there was no heat.
Because of other occurances to my family, we all decided that a demon, who had once posessed my grandmother, had inhabited that room, and he had wanted to kill me and my brother.
We sold the unit and my family moved to new flats, nothing has happened since.
But I will never forget that feeling when I was sitting in that bathroom nor the fact that something I had no knowledge about tried to take my life.
That is my story."
Hehe, here's what I posted. XP
"Well, I haven't been through anything too strange.. but once I was on a trip to Washington D.C. we went to this old house in a graveyard... I don't know who's, now I can't remember... I was probably 11 or 12... and I went upstairs and I felt... creeped out. I was alone upstairs and I looked and the rooms were like... opened doors so you could see in them, but had little gates so you couldn't get in them. I was there for a minute, but couldn't take it anymore and just went back downstairs.
About a year later, I saw on tv that the upstairs of that house was haunted... I was like "Cool! I was there alone! I'm such a badass!" But yeah...
That's all that happened, I would like to hear more stories!! =DDD"

Oooh, those were really good, kt_rocks! I have a couple, but they're not as creepy. However, they did happen, and I bore witness to them. The common factor in all these stories is my deceased grandmother, Nammy.
On the day of Nammy's burial, the thought of Nammy sewing my Uncle Dale into bed just popped into my head. (She sewed the sheets to the covers, so he couldn't get out of bed.) I couldn't stop myself from laughing, and my mother gave me a dirty look and said, "What's so funny? We're at a burial. Don't laugh." And I just burst out with, "It's her [Nammy's] fault. She made me laugh."
After the burial, we went back to the house where she and Grumpy lived. (Grumpy was her husband. He's my only living grandfather.) We went to leave the house, and as we passed the porch, where she used to stand when she called over to my mother (We live next door to their house.) I heard her voice calling "Val! Val!". (Val is my mother.) I said to mom, "I swear I just heard Nammy calling your name, Mom." And she replied, "It was probably just a bird." And then the sound happened again "Val! Val!" All my mom could say was, "I think we should get out of here now."
A few months later, I was visiting with Grumpy to keep him busy, and I went down into the cellar to get something for Grumpy, and I heard shuffling, slippered feet (Nammy always wore slippers.) and I felt something like a breeze come right past me. I freaked out and ran up the stairs screaming.
And those are my stories.......

When I was three years old, my mom had a miscarage. when I was seven (and my sibling would be 4) I started playing with an "imaginary" friend. he didn't have a name, so I called him my brother. He had the same brown hair as me and gray eyes, or atleast that's what I said.
then when I was 11, (he would be 8, I started having dreams. I was with him again and we would play games. one morning I woke up and there were game cards scattered everywhere, and they weren't there when I went to sleep.
at 13, I began having strange dreams where black figures would harm me, and I woke up with bruses and small cuts, even a scar on my hip that is there to this day.
at 14, last year when he was 11, he appeared in a christmas photograph, sitting next to me with a smile on his face. At that time I was being driven mad by other spirits, and this picture calmed me. My father freaked out though, and shreaded the picture and threw it away. that night I whispered to my little brother what he had done. I fell asleep with no dreams. I woke up hearing a loud crash and my tall wardrobe we had recently moved against the wall across from my bed was laying on my bed where I sleep. I heard my brother's whisper "watch out for him" and felt his hand on mine. he had pushed me against a wall so I didn't get hit by the large furniture.
A few months later, I found out he was refering to the demonic spirit in my dad's room. It enjoyed slamming doors shut and making slight appearances in mirrors. It hates music, so whenever I have to go in there I sing or bring a loud radio. Also, my friend Natalie and my other friend Pricilla have seen him in the hallway at night, laying on the floor like he was crawling towards us, I have also seen him like that.
now I'm 15, and late at night when I leave my bedroom door open at my mom's house, I see a tall, thin man with black hair wearing white and black with a red bandana around his neck paceing the hallway and walking in and out of my mom's room.
occasionally at my Grandma's house I will hear my late grandfather's voice or his coughing.
I have seen many other things, such as one time at a park I saw a woman with a man's spirit near her. I somehow started talking to her, and I asked her if she was married, out of curiosity. She seemed confused and said yeah, and that she was a widow. I told her that her huspand still is near, and she said she knew that already with a smile.
those are some of my experiences.... and my little brother is now named "Seth", he liked that name when I said it to him. he likes to tickle me when he is borred (usually my back.. even though my back isn't particularly ticklish)

ALSO!
I have visited the Wayley's (sp?) house in San Diego.
It was frikkin scary! me and my mom walked up the stairs to the front door and then we heard footsteps behind us, no one was there.
I was walking up the stairs and saw a little girl with light brown hair in a white dress, she was known to be the neighbor girl, who died in that house. I also heard the upstairs piano playing and one of the people who worked there looked up at me and told me the piano doesn't have the thing to let it play on its own, she seemed a bit scared. I went into that room and I felt a presence. I walked to the piano and it got really cold around me, I touched a key and the playing stopped. then when I took my hand away it continued. Then a moment later it stopped again and that was it.

Oooh, I love ghost stories! I have a lot of them, but half of them are probably just my imagination because I'm easily scared sh!tless when I'm alone. I do have three good ones, although the first one is questionable:
-----
The first, which doesn't directly relate to anything happened to me, concerns my great uncle. He lived in a house about six blocks away from where I live now, with his wife and his kids (my cousins, who were only about 5 and 6 at the time but are now 20 and 21). This all happened before I was born, so I only know what my gram told me.
Anyway, I guess I'll start off with saying that my great uncle was murdered. o.O Well, it marked down as a suicide, because the morning that my Great Aunt (his sister) and my gram (his other sister) went to his house and found him dead in a pool of blood, with a gun in his hand. Apparently, he had committed suicide or something, but there were some dried blood footsteps leading up the stairs to his room, where his wife was sleeping. Apparently, in her story, she had went downstairs to get a drink and must have stepped in the blood and not noticed. ... how can you NOT notice that?
But yeah, it was marked down as a suicide even though I think it's kind of apparent that she had something to do with his death. But on to the ghost-ish part of the story: She had moved out of that house a few months later, and since then there have been quite a few people that have moved in. I think, at most, someone stayed in the house for about 6 months, but no longer. My gram talked to a few of the people who lived in the house, because instead of going to his grave, she goes to the house he died in to pay her respects.
From what she learned from the people that lived in the houses, they either moved out or were wanting to move out because they would "constantly need to replace there carpet [in the living room]" (that's where his body was found) because "something seeped up from the woodwork into the carpet". o.O Also, some of the people claim to hear a gunshot in the middle of the night, but they had always shrugged it off because you hear at least one gunshot a night in that area, or at least a backfiring car that sounds like a gunshot. The one lady that I actually saw and heard talk about it with my gram said she would hear someone walking around downstairs at night.
I've never been to the house myself, and like I said this happened before I died, so I only know what my gram told me. It does sound pretty creepy though, and I've always believed her, but sometimes I'm not so sure because my gram also used to tell me that my great grandpa is the real Santa Claus. :/
-----------------
Another story I have is about my friend Megan's house. I was at her house one day, because she invited me up when her parents and siblings weren't there because she's always freaked out staying alone there. Her house is pretty old, so the floorboards are always creaking a lot so it sounds like someone's walking around even though there's no one there. Just for fun, we had made an "Ouji board" out of cardboard, a marker, and some other random things we found in her house. We were being stupid, so we used the board to come up with a name for the "ghost" (a.k.a. the creaking floorboards) in her house. His name came up as "Naboobay".
And because we're weird little freaks, whenever we would hear the floorboards creaking we would "make fun" of Naboobay and call him "Mah Booby". o.O Anyway, the next time I went to her house when she was alone we did that, and we heard something in the attack fall or something. Her whole attic is a sort of play room for her brother and sister, and there's a crawlspace where some old stuff is that was left there by the previous owners of the house. Nothing was out of place, but when we opened the crawlspace a box had fallen over inside the crawlspace.
We went into the space on our hands and knees to pick up the things that fell from the box, and two of the things that fell from the box were these really ugly old dresses, so we took them out and tried them on. :P We started to walk around the attic with the dresses on (we had already packed up the rest of the things in the box and set the box upright before closing the crawlspace door), but then we heard a noise from the crawlspace again. When we opened crawlspace again, the same box had fallen, but we just thought that maybe we hadn't put it up right. So, we took off the dresses and put them back in the box and closed the crawlspace door again.
Everytime we would call Naboobay, Mah Booby, that same box in the crawlspace would always fall and we would always go up to set it upright again on top of the other boxes. One day, we thought it was sort of strange when we didn't hear it fall, so we went up to "check up on" Naboobay, but the box was gone. When we asked her mom about it, she said she was cleaning up the crawlspace and throwing things out that she didn't need (the things from previous owners).
We asked her about a box with two dresses and some other junk in it, and she told us that was the first thing she threw out. When we asked her why, she said because the two dresses in it were "really nasty, moldy, and ripped up, and stained from God knows what". She described the two dresses to us, and they were the same ones we had tried on the one day. But, the day we had tried them on, they were in perfectly fine condition. o.O Megan and I haven't been up in the attic or crawlspace since then. However, a plus is that the floorboards no longer make noises at random.
-------
My last one is about the penthouse apartment my mom and aunt had rented one year to stay in together with my aunt's three kids and my little brother. It was a really cool, and I always loved staying with my mom when she lived there. It had a kitchen with a door that led up to the roof, two family rooms, a dining room, 5 bedrooms, one and a half baths, and huge amounts of closet space. My favourite thing about the penthouse was the large wrap-around porch that went around all of the other rooms. My cousins, sisters, and me would always race around it, seeing who was the fastes or could complete a certain number of laps first.
One thing my cousins were known for is getting up in the middle of the night and trying to race in the dark, because they thought it was fun slipping and sliding around and trying to ram into the walls ( Okaaaay...). My mom and aunt would never allow them to do it because they could crash and fall out one of the windows. They always got in trouble when my aunt and mom would get up and scold them, but each night they would always do it anyway.
On one of the nights that I stayed with my mom, I woke up hearing someone run around the porch, and my mom and aunt weren't getting up so I got up to yell at my cousins. At the time, I was really... er, bossy, so yelling at my family whenever I felt like it was nothing new to me. :P I went out into the porch and turned the lights on, but no one was out there. I checked on my cousins in their rooms, but they were all asleep. I thought that they were pretending, because they heard me get up and ran to their rooms. So, I decided to shut all of the lights off again and try to catch them in the act. About a half an hour later, I heard the running again, so I got out of bed, ready to catch them this time, but then I heard some glass break and thought that one of them had finally gone flying through one of the windows.
Forgetting all about getting to yell at them, I ran to where I heard the window crash, but then when I got there, there was no glass. All of the windows were just find, and after checking all through the house I couldn't find one shard of broken glass. When I checked again, all of my cousins were still in their beds. So, freaked out, I woke my mom up and told her what happened, but she just called me an idiot and said to go to bed. ( :nonono )
A few weeks later I was spending another night at my mom and aunt's apartment, and it happened again. This time, though, I actually found one of the windows knocked out, and was about to run to my mom to tell her, but she had come by herself. She looked really angry, and when I tried to tell her I found the window broken like that, she just told me to stop lying and I got in trouble for running around the porch and breaking one of the windows. :???:
I don't know if it ever happened again, because I refused to ever stay at my mom's again because of being accused of breaking the window. My mom eventually moved out though when she and my aunt got into a fight and my aunt moved out, making my mom unable to live there because she couldn't pay for it all by herself. ..and that's it. I never found out what was behind it all or anything, though if I had to guess and make up a story to explain it, I'd say that someone died from crashing out of the window or something. Maybe that's why the place was so cheap (well, as cheap as a penthouse can get). *shrugs*
...holy friggin' huge post.

Well,Here are my personal experiences
This one my mom told me about that happend when I was 5,I can't remember it at all
We were at my dad's cousines house,My mother told me I was wandering around the house like I was looking for something,I came running back to my parents and I told my dad that we had to leave now and that we were not safe,My dad thought I was just playing some game..but my mom agreed that we should leave because of the way I was acting,We went to leave.. then my dad's cousine and her husband started freaking out..they started speaking very strange and they attacked us trying to stop us from leaveing,We did make it out safe and we left and we never went to see them ever again......I know now that there was something evil in that house that made them like that and my mom knew I saw it.
I havein't saw anything until my early teens till now...more so..after me and my parents moved into this house .. I see,Ghosts,Demons,Spirits..whatever you want to call them...They give me bad dreams,I never really had a good dream before,I know when they are toying with me.. like when I have those dreams and it has been pretty bad last week,The more I get these dreams..the more they feel real and believe me they are so horrific ..I will not go in detail,I feel like I won't wake up from one of these dreams one day....
Other times while I am in bed,I feel my bed move like someone else is in my bed..but no one is really there and I just lay there frozen in fear because I can feel it,something like a person in my bed but in fact I am alone.
I see a figure sometimes at my window...just..standing there..i can't see a face..it is just a shadow figure...after a while i see walk away....I have seen lots of things in the hallway lately...just standing there or peering out and when I look at them...they quickly hide..I been seeing a cat that is never there..Everytime I was cooking in the kitchen I seen a cat running by in the dining room and I go look...its gone...it happend a few times...and I knew my cats were already outside and the doors were shut so I knew they werein't inside at all....It hasin't happed anymore..yet..............
a about 2-3 months ago I was taking pictures around the house,I love useing my camera...Well..when I was looking at the pictures..I noticed..a white glowing orb..like a spirit orb...well..thinking it may be a relfection I took the picture again in the same exact location and setting......nothing came up that time....
My mom has heard music playing in our house when there was never any music on nor on the tv...She has seen things around here. and sensed things..She is the only one who believes me that I can see things and sense things becuase she has been through the same thing too when she was young..My dad hasin't seen anything ..never has
I smell strange things around this house too...like..dry old blood..decaying bodies......my grandma was killed in her van by a semi truck a few years ago..and me and some family members went to look at the van to find some things in there...I smelled dry old blood...and since then...I smell it around here alot more then I used too....and that really freaks me out...
On a side note:My little cousine said she has seen my grandma which is her great grandma, she told my aunt that they were playing together:
I sense something in this house,I don't know why it is here..this thing or things have caused me to be ill with no reason at all,my mood chages rapidly in this house,I get very angry quick and get very depressed with out cause....but once I leave the house to go somewhere...I am fine..happy and nothing feels wrong,Once I come home it is like sadness and anger hits me smack in the face....I noticed the more I feel depressed the more I see things,The more strange things happen around here....I get scared sometimes...that they will hurt me in that weak state...but not them hurt me directly..they will use me to hurt myself....
We were told that someone did die in this house...but never told how...Also my mother side of the family has been strongly involved with the occult,I don't know if that has to do with anything,...She and I arint involved with it.
I would write more...but I won't...Don't want to make this way to long^^;

Oooh... freaky. O.O I sometimes get the feeling that I'm not the only one in the room, though I suspect that that's just because I'm paranoid. Though, when I'm on the computer late at night (the computer's downstairs), I never leave the room until it's light out again.. not even to go to the bathroom. I just turn on all the lights in the living room because of the feeling of someone else in the room. :P But like I said, that's probably just my paranoia.
Lol... I just asked my gram for another personal ghost story, and she started off in this rant about some murderer's ghost or something... which is funny, because she was just retelling the story of a low-budget horror movie I watched on SciFi last week. :eh

yay! I love ghost stories! ^^
Also, this doesn't have anything to do with me, well, maybe a little. But my old friend said she could sense ghosts. She said that her grandma died in her house and that sometimes she sat on the rocking chair and rocked in it. She could hear it but see no one and whenever she saw the chair personally, it was always still. 0.o
She also has been into our basement and said she saw spirit orbs or something, but I doubt that. (I believe a lot of what she saw was made up in her mind ^^;;;)
But my old exchange sister, Hyo-jin said she saw ghosts, I don't remember any stories though, but I think she said she saw them one in our front yard at night.
See, we live in the country and we live in a pretty big house and a huge yard. The only thing I know that has died in our yard are baby rabbits (thanks to the cats) or armadillos (I have no idea why. ><)
Then Kimi (our recent exchange student) and Lisa (another exchange student, from a town nearby. They were friends ^^) went on a road trip with each other. They stayed in a house with another friend one night, and they went to bed while their friend was in the shower on the right side of the house. Then all of a sudden they heard a loud noise on the left side. They thought that their friend had fallen down or something, but she was on the other side, and there was no one else in the house with them.
Anyways, they got in bed and tried to go to sleep, but were a little freaked out. Then Kimi heard a noise like music from a clock or something. She thought that it was a clock, so she paid no mind. Then she heard it again 15 minutes later and she knew it wasn't a clock, because clocks don't do that. And furthermore, the sound was close to her ear. It happened a couple more times, so she asked Lisa if she heard it, and she said yes.
After a while the music stopped, so they finally went to sleep. Then in the middle of the night Kimi woke up and felt a thud on the bed, like someone jumped on it or something. She woke up Lisa and asked her if she felt that. She said that she didn't and that it was all in Kimi's imagination.
Later, they left the house and were on the road again and Lisa admitted that she felt the thud on the bed, too. She just didn't want to scare Kimi.
Awww! Poor Kimi! She's too cute to make scared! ><
