View Full Version : AVA Meetup 07 Poll/Thread

Ok, this is the new poll. DON'T REPLY UNLESS YOU'RE CERTAIN OF YOUR ANSWER. And, just take the time to post a reply if you're trying to make a valid argument in favor of your city/state of choice, or present useful speculation that will aid in the forward movement of our decisions. That way, when people are trying to decide, they don't have to read through 14 pages (12 of which contain nothing but useless speculation and comments) in order to help make an informed decision. And, if you're not going, why even answer the poll?

My vote goes to Colorado.
The reason I am voting for Colorado is because:
1. I do not want to go to a convention, and I will not be attending this meet up if it is a convention, which is what the Chicago voters are all about. After doing both the convention and non-convention experiences, I would have to say that the non-convention experiences are MUCH better. I am going to this meet-up to meet people. And I am going to have fun. I do not count the following as fun activities: Waiting around in a hotel room, going to the dealer's room over and over again, waiting for cosplayers to come back.
Additionally, if we go to a convention, it will attract people who will be there JUST to cosplay and participate in convention events. I'm sorry, but I find that completely insipid. If you're going to go to the meet up, go to meet the people, not to dress up like Sailor Moon and enter the cosplay contest and not to kiss Greg Ayers ass while he talks about how much he loves to stare at the lint in the microphone pop filter for 20 minutes.
2. There are incredibly cheap, yet amazing deals that would be good for those of you on a tight budget. Feel free to inquire, and I will post some.
3. Though there aren't any big attractions such as Orlando's Universal Studios and Disney World, there are enough entertainment areas for people to keep satisfied, and more than likely plenty to do at whatever location it is that we choose. The eclecticness to it could be fun for everybody.

No one said anything about going to a convention. There isn't even a convention in the summer in Illinois, so I don't know why you're assuming all of us wanted to have a con meetup.

Because we've been asking for people to give ideas that aren't ACEN, and no one's given any. And, in the past, when Chicago's been mentioned, it's been all about ACEN. From this, one could make the assumption that ACEN is what the people in Chicago want.
I would suggest trying to find something to try to sway people's decisions your way, if Chicago is where you really want to go.

But yeah... Chicago would be most ideal for me, as I said earlier. I would even be up for maybe helping organize it. It sounds really, really exciting. <3 And I agree, no convention stuff. It's a meet-up, not a convention.
That was a direct quote from one of my posts in the other thread. I'm sorry, but I don't see where you're coming from when you say all we want is to go to a convention. I don't think anyone's actually said that.
Edit: HAHA, hi, Nikki's post. >>
a) Navy Pier
b) Six Flags
c) Camping (That's right, I SAID IT! Camping!)
d) Random museums
e) Chinatown (I know a really awesome restaurant)
f) Lake Michigan
Haha, it would be amazing to go to Medieval Times in Schaumburg. Of course, that could just be me.
We could go somewhere other than Chicago, y'know. Someplace else in the midwest.

I'm actually quite interested in what kind of deals we're talking about here for Colorado; money is definitely an issue with me, though I'll likely be attending anyway if it is CO. I'd just like to know how much we're talking about here; I've never gone to a meet-up, so I really have no idea.
Obviously, my vote still goes to CO.

I say Chicago, and for the following reasons:
Chicago is a huge town, and there are tons of things to do there. There's the magnificent mile (which has some wonderful tourist attractions as well as one of the nicest malls I have ever been to) and there is also Navy Pier. Sears Tower, the Chicago Blues Festival, the Chicago Air & Water Show and Venetian Night. There is also a Six Flags near Chicago, ESPN Zone, about three zoos, and hotels like everywhere. Even cheap ones. And an anime convention? I'd rather not.
I am also sure some of the cheap deals to Colorado can also be applied to Chicago.
ETA: How much do you think it would be for Colorado? I'm curious, too.

My vote goes to Chicago.
"The reason I am voting for Colorado is because:"
1. "I do not want to go to a convention, and I will not be attending this meet up if it is a convention" ...sence the only convention there is during May. Yeah I did AX.. you got to do everything once in your life, doesn't mean I want to go to another one.
2. "There are incredibly cheap, yet amazing deals that would be good for those of you on a tight budget. Feel free to inquire, and I will post some."
3. "Though there aren't any big attractions such as Orlando's Universal Studios and Disney World, there are enough entertainment areas for people to keep satisfied, and more than likely plenty to do at whatever location it is that we choose. The eclecticness to it could be fun for everybody."
4. I'll be able to provide transportation for people if it's held there. Colorado... not so much.
...Sorry for quoting you so much Nikki, but the same can be said for both places. And yes I am looking into deals as well.

I pick Colorado because it is a RELAXING atmosphere that we can all kick back and get to know each other in without the hustle and bustle of life around us. In the laid back mountains we can just enjoy life and what is around us while also enjoying each other and each other's company. There are a lot of beautiful sites to see and a lot of quality time to be had which is what a meet up should be about and what made the recent one so amazingly amazing. The places that Nikki has shown me are just gorgeous and cheap which would be worthwhile for all of us and give us some place nestled in an awesome part of the country to really be with each other.
I also DO NOT want to be shoved in some HOTEL room in a big city. To me that is not fun and even though it is just a place to sleep it does make a huge difference and it does matter in the long run for a VACATION.
I am sorry...but that is what I am all for. I still love everyone in Chicago with all my heart and soul.

COPIED FROM OTHER THREAD
Oi, I'm sorry, guys...
It would be really nice if everybody came to Chicago, not only because it would make things easier on me (and Rika), but because it really is a great city and perhaps a lot of people don't see that.
In terms of things to do, there are tubs of museums (The Field Museum, The Museum of Science and Industry, The Art Institute of Chicago (http://www.planet99.com/pix/7_1.jpg), The Shedd Aquarium, The Adler Planetarium...they offer all-day passes for those), zoos (Brookfield Zoo, Lincoln Park Zoo)...a lot of people like to go to Navy Pier (http://beckiebootwo.unixdaemons.com/stuff/navypier01.jpg). There are some cool stores in there, there's always some type of event going on. They have an IMAX theater, jumping fountains XD...and a big ferris wheel, boat tours, Build-A-Bear, among other things (nighttime fireworks)! Go to the top of the Sears Tower (I've never been, but it seems cool). There's Six Flags Great America about 30-40 mins away. The beaches are nice. You could go to a baseball game *coughwhitesoxcough*...Buckingham Fountain (http://howedigitalphotography.homestead.com/files/chicagofountains/Chicago_BuckinghamFountain_City_AllColor_LS_Hnail. JPG) is really cool during the summer and at night. If we went during the beginning of July, you could go to the Taste of Chicago, a big festival where you can try samples of the food from the various restaurants in Chicago, they have different events on different days like concerts and such.
Walking around, you'll find random sculptures around; those are fun. You might come across street performers; ignore the panhandlers. D: You can go to Chinatown, Greektown, Little Italy, Boystown (I wanna go there D: ). They have the new Millenium Park (http://www.lares-lexicon.com/millenium/ABChelicopter.jpg). It has really pretty gardens, little food stands, Crown Fountain (http://www.millenniumpark.org/newsandmedia/photos/Crown_Fountain/47MP_tn.jpg)...and the BEAN (http://beckiebootwo.unixdaemons.com/stuff/bean01.jpg)!
There are tubs of places to eat...Rainforest Cafe, Hard Rock Cafe...we have the best pizza (http://www.meetinchicago.com/images/giordanos_pizza.jpg) ever (I don't care what anyone says, though, even if you disagree, it's worth a try...you won't regret it). My favorite pizza place is Gino's East (You can write on the walls in there!), Rika likes Giordano's...there's also Pizzeria Uno and Pizzeria Due, Home Run Inn and others. Pretty much, whatever food you'd like, they have somewhere.
If you wanna go shopping, right downtown are stores like Old Navy and Marshall Fields (soon to be Macy's ;__; ), they have really cool window displays...American Girl Place XD...there are mini-shops all over the place...Water Tower Place is a mall. You could go out to Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg (about 30 mins away). It's pretty big. It has movie theaters and restaurants and a GameWorks...nearby is Mitsuwa Marketplace (a Japanese store a lot of anime people like to go to...it's pretty cool the first time you go...get Japanese-style lunch...get whatever you couldn't normally get at a regular store...go to the bookstore...honestly, though, after you've been once, it's just a store). Nearby Six Flags is Gurnee Mills, the biggest mall in the area, I believe.
A lot of people are probably concerned with lodging and transportation. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to get a hotel downtown simply because you'll go bankrupt after one night. However, there are nice hotels/suites in the surrounding areas. I was looking at the Embassy Suites in Schaumburg; it's much cheaper than the one downtown (plus free parking!), and still close by.
In terms of transportation, your best bet would be the trains (Metra and the El), busses, and trolleys...trolleys are free, but they only take you so far. They have these passes, I believe (I'll find out), where you pay one lump sum to ride the CTA (El trains and the busses) all day, otherwise, each ride would be about $1.75. It's really efficient and takes you about 2-3 blocks of (if not right to) where you need to go.
There are tubs of more things that I haven't listed. Really, it all depends on what you're looking for...I say we have a little bit of everything! I don't see how one could get bored...Chicago is a really interesting place! <:'D
Finally, I say come to Chicago because the skyline (http://www.naturescapes.net/portfolios/pics/userpics/10248/3136-mid-skyline-web.jpg) is, like, the prettiest you'll ever see...and you'll get to see Rika and me. =__=;
NO CHICAGO=NO RIKA/BECKIE=ETERNALLY FLOWING TEARS FOR EVERYBODY=NO FUN!!! (Come on, what did you learn from the Care Bears? LOVE! LOVE FOR THE WEAK AND INNOCENT! We're good people...and we'd like to think you all are too...give us back our hope. The hope that people still care.)

And Matt Alan breaks the current tie, reasons being, at that time, I'll be living in Buffalo, New York, assuming its a summer meetup, and I'll be pretty poor, but a ticket to Chicago is waaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than Colorado. Plus, Chicago means Rika. And I like me some Rika.

Windy inquired, so I'll deliver:
Alpine River Lodging (http://www.alpine-riverlodging.com)
Aspen [It was listed under Aspen but it says Redstone..?]
High season - June 1 - October 15
Low season - October 16 - May 31
Below are the prices. Keep in mind, I'm dividing this up by 15 people. This means that the prices would change, if more or less people attend:
If we stay 5 nights, at the highest possible rate.. we'd have to pay about 71 dollars per person. I would see us renting.. two of these, despite the fact that the maximum occupancy is 5. Shit, they won't notice... right?
---
Avalanche Ranch (http://www.avalancheranch.com)
Aspen. [This one says Marble, though..]
High season - June 16 - October 8
Low Season - October 9 - June 15
Below are the prices. Keep in mind, I'm dividing this up by 15 people. This means that the prices would change, if more or less people attend:
If we stay 5 nights, at the highest possible rate [This means going DURING the high season], we'd be paying 131.70 per person.
However, if we go during the low season, we would be paying just about 99 dollars per person. These are for the THREE BEDROOM cabins that they offer. And there is a 10 person maximum for each room, so.. imagine all that space. >D
Now, if we take the cabins with the maximum occupancy of six [again, we can stretch a bit], people would be paying a grand total of 68 per person. Again, this is figuring in only 15 people make it.
---
BSI Chalets (http://www.bsichalets.com/)
Denver
This place offers 4-bedroom cabins that host 10 people, maximum. The minimum stay is 4 nights, and I would imagine adding on another night or two wouldn't change the price too much, but.. going off of what I know so far, here's the pricing information:
If we were to rent two of these cabins, the total would come to 40 dollars per person [Again, the 15 people thing - could be more or less depending on the people, blah blah blah]. I haven't included any extra-day fees because the site doesn't list them.. I would guess you would have to call to find out, but it's probably not much.
Also, according to the site.. if you book 6 nights in advance, you get the 7th free. Personally, I think that's pretty cool.
I had a couple more, but I stupidly wrote them out by hand and now I can't find that piece of paper. I suppose I can post them later.
Colorodo.
I love cities; the bigger, the better. America has some fine cities I would love to see. I've been to Chicago. I was born there. I know that if I go, I will love it. I have family there. I have friends there (who know who they are), whom I would love to meet. BUT:
I have long been wanting to have a meet-up that took place somewhere exotic and a little different. Colorodo isn't nearly as drastic as I was thinking (out of country locations), but, as far as the choices being in the United States, it seems that meeting up in, just, another city--great, though, it may be, would be ill-decided, when the other option is a state like Colorodo.
Colorodo is a large place and we could do many things there--which could be said for Chicago, as well--but, Colorodo offers a one-of-a-kind experience in idol examples of great American scenery. It's just a special place we could go to....
If we go to Colorodo, I can bring my friend, Philippe! He's one of my best buddies and does great at outdoors stuff and with physical stimulation and all of that other manly stuff. He'd love it. He lives across the country, so we get together every chance we can! He would love Colorodo! It would be a perfect place to bring him along to and spend some time together! *Bonus points toward my final vote!*
I can visit my relatives any time, but, some good ol' fun in the mountains and country with my best bud and all you AVA kids is where my vote goes!

My vote is Colorado.
Main reason is affordability, as it is in driving distance of where I live. My chances of even attending a Chicago meetup would be horrible, I'm afraid. I honestly, really would like to meet up with all of you Chicago dwellers, and I hope I do whether it be this time or some other time, but I'm afraid it's just not an option for me right now. Hopefully it'll work out either way, though.
I would also like to say that the outcome of this poll should not let people stop them from going where they want to go! If enough people want to go to a different location/event, then they should feel free to make a new meetup thread for that location/event. I see so many people getting a little upset over this and I don't see why anyone feels like this is in any way "official" or "the only one allowed" or that this is incredibly serious and unstoppable. This thread is virtually pre-insemination. It's just scribbles on a notepad. Have some tea!

I voted Colorado, obviously. I was born in Chicago and raised there; while I am a huge fan of living in a big city, I'm not a huge fan of going to a big city to relax and hang out with friends. I'm not a huge fan of traffic (shuttling us around Chicago in a car? Insanity,) trains, buses, crowds... Chicago has all of these. It has decent food but seriously, that's not exactly a major selling point.
With the prices that Nikki quoted, it would be no problem for a group of us to hoof it out to Colorado. If the Chicago people want to call the Chicago Meet-Up the official AVA Meet-Up '07, that's fine by me. We can call ours something else.

Colorado, because damnit: I'm paying 2000 dollars just to get to LA from Australia. The least you capitalistic American pigdogs can do is throw some cash into a domestic flight and meet me halfway instead of having me fly over your entire country to get to Chicago. And the less time Edwyn spends in the air flying to the other side of the country = the less cranky and sleepy Edwyn is when he arrives. And you know you want to meet me: Edwyn the Magnanimous!

I think if all our international friends want one place or the other, they win! :D
Heh, half-kidding. :] But maybe the two-meetups deal isn't that bad an idea; if we're this deeply divided, picking one place or the other will likely lose a majority of the voters from the opposing place - IE they won't come at all, and no fun for them. :( If we had two people organizing one in either place, they could be independent of each other - I just don't expect anyone to plan two; obviously if you're in the Chicago group you'd need to get it together yourselves and whatnot.
...Or they can all come with us, whichever.

I agree on that fact that you guys over in Chicago having your own special meet up. I know a lot of you all are young, don't have a lot of cash, and have parental issues. Also the demographics are better for you. (again not all of us Colorado lovers live close to Colorado) That is fine. In fact, maybe you guys can start up a thing with each other and those who can only afford/able to go to Chicago. (I mean by no means do the people wanting to go to Colorado "wipe their asses with 100 dollar bills" because we don't...most of us are going to have to save with all our might for this)
In truth, I am surprised that this hasn't happened before this point. The cruel fact of the matter is we are a big group of people. A big group of people that live in so many different places with so many different backgrounds. It is simply amazing to me that we haven't split up our annual meet ups and just gone by where everyone can afford to go for example "Chicago AVA Meetup" or "NYC AVA Meetup". To be honest, the idea of having a meet up that is purely for relaxation and bonding is a fairly new one for us. We tried it out and it was really something that words cannot describe...awesome in the literal sense would be close.
I don't want this to be a war and I don't want this to be a competition. I also don't want to have to get IMs about all of you saying things either in IParty or to another person. I personally love you all and me wanting to go to Colorado is a personal choice. It is nothing against any of you in Chicago, not even by a long shot because I really honestly have a special place in my heart for all of you out there. We are not trying to punish you or leave you out. We are simply going somewhere that we feel is the best spot for our intentions of what we think a meetup should be. If y'all have another idea then try it out and tell us how it goes. We would really love to see you guys happy. I am not sure with this that there will actually a definitive happy medium other then two seperate meetups but that can also be the start of something great for this board and the people as well.
[ I would also like to add after reading the rest of the other thread that just because there has been an "official" or whatever crap meetup before doesn't mean that things can't change in the long run to suit the members and their desires at this board. So don't go thinking that you have to set something "official" up because that is what has been done in the past. That is kinda lame. Do what you want. Change history. Make new paths for us to follow. There is never one true path or whatever anyway.]

Meh, who needs anything official? It's supposed to be fun, right?
Anyways, I've been reading through the threads and the different arguments, and an idea came to mind: Michigan.
Michigan has the best of both worlds, I think. There is Detroit with great attractions (museums, food) about 30-40 minutes South and North of Detroit are theme parks (Cedar Point being one), and a bit further north or a bit more east are the Great Lakes. We can stay in one of the smaller towns and enjoy the outdoors and relaxation most of the time and still be within 30 minutes of Detroit, the Great Lakes, and other great attractions. Not to mention, this may be much more accessable for the Chicago people. I'm just throwing this out... I'll go to whichever one to be honest. I love the outdoors, and Colorado is great, but so is Michigan. I really only wanted to go to Chicago because I've never been. But, I'm just throwing the idea out there--I know many of you are already pretty much decided on Colorado.

Michigan = <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
I live in Michigan...and it's fantastic. There is the urban setting (although I wouldn't suggest staying in downtown Detroit, lol) and the wonderful suburban communities, and even the hickcountrytowns.
There are hotels everywhere and it wouldn't be that expensive, there is an airport in Detroit and in Flint for anyone who is flying (and I could pick some of you guys up at the airport, I live near Flint) and I could help organize it. (And by organize, I mean compile a final list of who is going, research hotels and such.)
A nice place to go (fantastic, really) would be East Lansing. It's where I go to school and there are plently of things to do: fantastic shopping, fantastic eating, and DEAR GOD fantastic bars (if you can get it in.)
But...people are probably not gonna care, lol.

I have been behind Colorado for a few reasons:
1. It's an IMMENSE change of scenery from the last meetup. A con, a con, a resort in Florida, A SNOWY MOUNTAIN. LOOKOUT.
2. I've never been to Colorado, and don't see snow so often. I like snow.
3. McCorvic lives in CO, and this kid's got ideas. He'd be a big help, I think.
4. No mafia in Colorado.
5. A lot of the people I really want to see are voting for Colorado (as I could certainly go to either meetup). In fact, in the Chicago voting bracket, there's about three of you I really want to meet. Sorry. : /

I have to agree with Matt with the whole mafia thing. I'm going with Colorado for a few reasons.
1) It's safer. Chances are, someones gonna get robbed if we go to Chicago.
2) It's more close to the exact center of America. Alaska is too high up and way too cold, although it may be warm during summer now, but I don't know when the meet is.
3) There is some stuff to do in Colorado, but not too busy.
4) I'm not sure but I'm guessing it will be easier to get tickets to Colorado than Chicago. Not a fact, just a guess.
I may not be going, but if I do, I would much rather it be in Colorado.

... you really DON'T think before you type things don't you...
even the people voting against chicago aren't voting cause they think they'll get robbed. I go to school on the south side of the loop and I can guarantee you you aren't going to get shot, stabbed, or mugged. Ya know, unless you all want to take a fun Jaunt to the south side for absolutely no reason (seeing as there is nothing over there).
I am going to vote Chicago, NOT because I live in Chicago (because HA I'll be living in LA by the time this comes around ><) but because I'd rather it be in a place (like in orlando) where there is LOTS of cool stuff to do out and about town (together or apart if you get stir crazy) than well... Colorado, WHICH I'm not going to say is boring, but I am 90% sure that Chicago is just going to have more to choose from than Colorado.
I agree that it shouldn't be at/during a con though. Acen sucks (sorry acen lovers, it used to not suck, but it does now - for me at least)
Anyway, yeah, I'd try and go if you guys do it in either place, but I'd have to know more stuff etc before hand. Plus we all know how anti-social Kuro can be... okay maybe not ALL of us know that, but at least 25% of the people in this thread know that.
I live next to Michigan :O exactly 30 minutes from Detroit YAY

3 of my friends went to chicago at different times and 2 got mugged, and like Matt Cruea said, the mafia is very active there. And yes I was being sarcastic. It may be hard to tell, but I am sarcastic alot. Granted I'm sure not all parts of Chicago are dangerous, but I'm saying from my experience and opinion, that Colorado, (except Denver) is safer. If the poll said Illinois than I would of not included that, or if it said Devner, than I would not include that. Oh well, that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
Edit: If anyone else wants to flame my opinion, take it up with me in pm. I don't really want to fill up this topic with fighting. I'm done posting in this thread.

I didn't know the mafia was in Chicago. I guess every time I go there I'm too busy to notice all the drug smuggling and Gay Vitos prancing around the local speakeasy.
And, maybe two meetups is a good idea. The people I want to see are voting Chicago anyways.

I already saw that post. I saw that it had 3 choices. 2 in Aspen 1 in Denver. I saw no final decision. I was just inquiring if their was one. I was confused by the post, whether or not we would be dividing the people into the three places, or if we were in just one, so I decided to post to see if there was a final decision. Sorry if I looked stupid in doing so.

I think an Aspen time would be great... but... what about looking into a possible winter meetup? Sometime with snow, that is. I dunno, Aspen is known for it's slopes, so that's just another possibility. Then again, if we went then, I don't know what else there would be to do OTHER than that.

The only problem with a winter meet-up is... The only time people would be free during the winter, is winter break. And that's around many holidays in which families want to be with other members of their family.
We couldn't do it before the break, because some people have finals. And we couldn't do it after the break, because.. some people have finals. :/

If you looked at the sites they actually tell you some of the entertainment options that they offer. It is no Universal or whatever but they have lots of open space to explore, arcades, go-karts, hiking, horseback riding (which culd be entertaining for those who haven't done it before), and whatnot...

I said "if we go then", as in wintertime. I'm sure there are lots of fun things to do in the summer, but who wants to go go-cart racing when it's 25 degrees?

You're just being difficult; stop that. -.-

Not trying to be... oy. I was just throwing out the idea, and clarifying an earlier statement. But, as for the summertime entertainment, is anyone interesting in maybe a hiking/backpacking trip while there?
EDIT: Meh, it's all good. Go-kart racing is fun enough... so I suppose adding a little variable makes it all the better. I suppose.

Kalikan sweetie. A lot of those things do apply to winter as well. Hiking includes winter, arcades include winter, some places have in door go-kart facilities in the area, and most of the entertainment is indoors as well. Nice try though ^^.
I mean if you people would just read things that would be helpful in the long run.

13 votes for Chicago....16 for colorado.
You know what that means? Those numbers are both PERFECT for two meet-ups. 13ish sounds like an ideal number. There is absolutly no reason whatso ever to not have two. At all.
This is kinda silly. People are starting to bad mouth each other (and respective locations) for no reason. And some people think that the vote matters at all? Crazy people! People want to go to one place or the other, so let's do that. Seriously.
People have already made up their mind. Plus, it's still a long ways away and who knows what could happen between now and "serious plan time". No more posting in/reading this thread for me at all. Well, unless I want to say something funny.
But yea, Denver has mafia and such. But we wouldn't go to Denver :) (Unless we all went to Casa Bonita. You guys watch that episode yet?)

About once a year or so there is a story about a puma trying to eat a child or something. Luckily, pumas are easily frightened. Just sorta yell at them.
Also also: Would you really want to go on a vacation where half the people were always constantly thinking, "Man, I wish we had gone to the other place..." What a downer.

Hate to double post, but it is warranted I believe.
Some rumors have begun that if the meet-up occurs in Colorado it will be something of a 24/7 drink-a-thon and be 18+ only. I can assure everyone that this will not be the case. The same rules that have gone into affect concering booze and things of similiar nature for previous meet-ups will be followed for this meet as well. To put it simply:
1. The legal drinking age in America is 21. There will be no breaking of this law and it does not matter what the law in your native country may be.
2. There will be not booze store at the hotel/condo/cabin/wherever it is we end up staying. If the adults want to hit the bars one night or something, then we shall. Not an adult? Tough luck.
I suspect a bad case of "telephone" has taken place, but it ends now!
THE MEET-UP GODS HAVE SPOKEN.
